Wanaka View Motel  

Very clean and tidy. Compact two bedroom unit but everything was well organised. Very nice decor.

Great location with a wonderful view. Apartments were groovy and had been done up tastefully.

Apartment was a little small, especially with 5 tall people staying there.

The lady who owned it was friendly and informative. Answering my email to inform I got room with view. Chalet 1 is best with view. I washed my clothes free with powder and dryer cost only$2

Space was limit to put ur luggages but overnight stay was ok.

When we got there I was told I had booked the studio and that's why the price was so cheap, but I notice on Booking.com there is no option to book a studio. What I booked from my understanding was a one bedroom apartment, shown by pictures and in writing as having a full kitchenette. It wasn't tell after we got there I noticed it said on the confirmation (I had printed out ) it read studio booked. To check I was not wrong about this I tried to book every month out until January next year and there is no mention of a studio until after you book, this to me is very misleading and unfair. I had booked months in advance and did have other options for the same price, I picked this one because it was closer to the lake. You will notice all the low scores for this accommodation are for the studio! Reason are as follows very small studio not suitable for two people. Only view is of the fence. No kitchen and very awkward with small sink in bathroom no room to put toiletries, make up etc. Next to laundry room. Beneath other accommodation which we could hear people moving around. Very dark. Bed is very old and not comfortable. I noticed from the time that I booked the prices have gone up, I felt this room was a $80 to $100 room and would only recommend staying one night. If you book on line check to see if it says studio, if it dose change it, other rooms looked nice and had views. Had I realised I would have paid more and booked one of the other rooms or gone else where. We were there for our wedding anniversary and my 42 birthday, hearing the people upstairs from 7:30am was not the kind of holiday we were hoping for, it did dampen my spirits.

Cleanliness, comfortable beds, very well equiped kitchen area.

If I was being super critical it was a little small for four people, but I would stop there again.

No storage in 2 bed unit. Bedrooms very small no wardrobes and no suitcase racks. A bit pokey for 4 adults.

The room is very nice, clean and suit for any kind of customer. We really love the design which not too big or small but useful space. Good surrounding environment and view. Friendly and nice staffs(owner). We will back again for sure

Just the location we needed for a one night stopover between Te Anau and Fox Glacier. Easy walk down to the lake. Staff very helpful.

We had a lovely comfortable room overlooking the lake. The room was very spacious and clean with kitchen facilities and a separate bedroom which you don't always get in motels. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the view from our room was fabulous. We didn't want to leave!

We booked an apartment suitable for 2 couples. The rooms were so small that there wasn't enough room to put our suitcases in our bedrooms. The couch had 2 seats, there was 4 of us! In general it was only big enough for 2 people.

This was a great find in Wanaka, the motel was very comfortable and provided everything we needed, and the views of the lake from our windows were the best in town!

The owners. Well positioned in town although very few would truly view the lake

The budget studio. Has view of fence not garden. No kitchen and very awkward with only mini sink in bathroom. Next to laundry room and beneath other accommodation. Very dark. Old furniture. Okay if one night and really stuck. It should be much cheaper vs other options.
