Room was very good.Standard of food was of a high standard.
The service levels in the restaurant were poor in my experience on both nights The wifi was very slow and difficult to access
The rooms are clean and the location is excellent. Value for money
The bed mattress needs replaced and the pillows are worn out and the room I stayed in has the wallpaper stapled to the wall under the window, very poor
Good facilities, location and price. I always stay here when in Wellington on business.
We loved the breakfast. So much choice and well presented.
Restaurant, swimming pool
Not enough information for tourists as far as "what to in Wellington "goes Bathroom was not that clean.
Great location. Clean, comfortable & warm Excellent staff. Great facilities & value for money
Not enough power points in room
bathroom floor had lots of hairs.mugs had coffee stains.fridge did deicing n making lot of noise.
The staff were excellent and went out of their way to assist. The room was very clean. The room was very quiet which was great for me. The car parking was excellent.
The bed was a bit too firm for me.
hugely overpriced and very scruffy rooms. No free wi-fi in the rooms even though we paid $400 / night. There was an extra charge for the car park when the location means you need to have a car.
Handy to city and where our friends were staying.
Could do with a bit of modernizing in the bathroom.
Gym, pool and staff great. Location excellent for the CBD.
Not very clean, pretty dated bathroom and amenities, so hard to keep that looking good I guess. Not a very quiet room. All I could hear was the elevator all night. For a mid/high price, disappointing.
The room was very small, old and run down. Needs a total refit.
All of the above.
Ease of access, on-site parking and the friendliness of the staff and pleasant surroundings in the bar and restaurant
The bed was on the small side and the rooms and corridors on the floor we were staying were in need of refurbishment / up-grade.
The staff and the location to the university were excellent and we had a fantastic view from our room. Which was clean and comfortable.
The food at the restaurant was poor and expensive. What we got didn't even match the description on the menu. There was no information in the room about local amenities such as convenience stores or restaurants. No information on how to operate the tv. We were not advised that once you leave your room on the morning of check out that you will be locked out even if it is before 11am check out time.
Excellent value for money with comfortable beds and very quiet location
Bathroom in need of a bit of an upgrade but it didn't spoil our one night stay
- reception staff, very helpful with checking in and out.
-$52 to eat everyone's leftovers at breakfast. - restaurant service, there is no one there - dirty bathroom, rotting toilet seat - key to room didn't work at 2 am.
Extra charges for everything ($20 to park, expensive wifi, No TV in room - just pay per veiw movies at $15+ each), There was a noisey fridge in my room that made sleeping dificult.
The Mercure is in my opinion the best located hotel in Wellington. It is handy to walk everywhere with ease. The staff were friendly and everything went very smooth. They have a very good gym and swimming pool. The room had everything one would need, it was clean and comfortable.
With no off street parking one has to use the basement parking, and that costs $20.00 per day. I feel this is a bit steep. My room was not serviced very well either.
helpful staff and comfortable room etc
that i had asked for a room high up with a view but instead got low level room with no view and i had booked the room a month in advance so don't think my request was even considered

Broken tap in shower
The location is perfect to hit Cuba St and Willis St. The room size is big enough to move around, unlike the newer hotels (so small and cramped).
The toilets are a bit old and tired. They need to refurbish them.
Loved everything, friendly staff, breakfast service is great, the bar is handy kids love the pool
Friendly staff. Location - close to uni and the central city. Price. Comfortable & warm room. Great view of the city and harbour. By joining the Accor club (there and then!) we got free 1GB wireless internet per day. Good strong, hot shower. :-) Secure garage.
Very poor TV setup. No facility to plug in your own device and play your own videos. Picture quality appalling! Still using analogue connectors. Room and facilities are tired looking. For example, the toilet seat in our bathroom was discoloured and peeling. For minimal investment this could have been fixed, but it's just been left. Rooms are not supplied with many glasses. Had to ask for flutes and for tall tumblers. Stock internet is expensive. Squeezy garage. Very narrow lanes with concrete pillars. Room not always restocked. For example, we ran out of toilet paper one day because we weren't restocked properly. Rubbish not cleared one day.
