YHA Paihia Hostel is less than 10 minutes’ walk from Paihia town centre and ferry terminal. It is a 5-minute drive to Waitangi Treaty Grounds and a 25-minute drive to Kerikeri Airport. Guests have access to shared laundry facilities, free on-site car parking and a nearby tennis court. Secure lockers and luggage storage facilities are available. The covered outdoor area offers heaters and a BBQ. The tour desk can book local activities such as Bay of Islands cruises, kayaking trips, helicopter flights, snorkelling, swimming with the dolphins, jet boating, sky diving and trips to Cape Reinga. You can choose between private and dormitory accommodation. Private rooms feature en suite bathrooms with shower, while dormitory rooms offer access to shared bathroom and toilet facilities. shower was good computer in leisure room worked, but little expensive... staff helpful in working the TV-DVD... I understood that in taking my credit card info and stating it would be DR'd for 'x' amount, that indeed it had been done. Only to turn up at hotel and they want to charge me AGAIN for what I had just paid!! Please make it clearer, to dummies like myself, that when I book IT IS NOT PAYMENT for the stay, and I will be charged directly by the motel.
