Al Sawadi Beach Resort and Spa  

Landscaping of Garden and grounds, trees and birds, friendly and helpful manager and staff, views of beach and sea from room, relaxed atmosphere and small size of hotel, large walk in shower.

Very uncomfortable pick up mini van on both out and return trips - squashed and hot from air-con vent under seat. Curry food on the Friday night far too hot -Butter Chicken inedible! and despite one mouthful only -heart burn for a whole day after. far too much spicy Indian food not enough range of food.

The resort is small but it is near a very nice diving site (Damaniyat Island). Quality/Price I think it's a great bargain and the food is good

The band in the evening is really bad. Basically not much entertainment.

The only thing i had a serious problem was the bed was tribble ,I could not sleep on to the bed my all the body got pain,please please have a good cot or else you will definatly loose cutomers. due to this reasons only will not recommend.

The location - Eco friendly - water sports - the vibe of the place - the sense that it wasn't exploiting workers

becoming a bit run down - pool needs shade and cleaning and cooling - around pool needs upgrading

The settings is lovely and very relaxing.Staff is very friendly. Short stay is fine, but 2 weeks holiday?NO!

Living in Oman for 7 years we stayed in lots of hotels. Last stay was the Millenium resort, just few km from Sawadi and also a 4*. Sawadi has no room service, no free water, no toiletries in the bathroom and the food is very salty, nothing special.Sawadi should go to a 3* and our next stay is for sure the Millenium Resort again!

diving

we stayed 1 night then dove the next day but couldn't get back from the dive trip to shower and change in the room. Would be nice to have an arrangement to co-ordinate the check-out time with the dive trip.

The setting is beautiful, near the beach, and when all lit up at night, very romantic. Nice restaurants and bars, good service; we like the dive centre, in fact most of the clientele seemed to be divers, but the hotel is suitable for 'normal' holiday makers, families, etc and it is surprising there aren't more; so much to do, just needs more people!

The casual and friendly atmosphere. The food was good and the rooms clean.

The beach was a little bit scruffy.

We had a great time in 2012, therefore we decided to come again. It was ok, but value for money changed a bit worse. The food was excellent, room clean, service ok but not as excellent as in 2012.

This year the prices were higher but they did not improve their service, ie no facilites in the bathroom - no problem normally but for these high rates one could expect; just one little bottle of mineralwater for two persons daily for free, last time they gave one/person.....nothing really relevant but anyway?!

The perfect location (if you have a car) - the quiet - the very friendly and helpful staff - the excellent food - the comfortable rom on the garden side - well, everything ! So much that we extended our stay !

Quiet and peaceful. Green gardens and all the plants. Able to sunbathe freely. Spread out and low density.

The price The lack of road signs off the highway to find the resort. ( as independent travellers).

Run-down ambience Beach needs cleaning Beach shades and loungers are separated from the hotel grounds by some dilapidated sports facilities and abandoned bar, no service on the beach and general public free to wander through Ugly, old furniture and decor in the rooms (although the new bathrooms are a nice step in the right direction) Toilets don't flush properly, don't make it your first weekend away with a partner! Gloomy, depressing lobby Uninspiring food, much like their other property in Muscat Friendly staff but poor training, service is slow and inattentive (but not lazy) Uninviting bar and nightclub that serves local market more than hotel guests

Price much too high for what they offer. Real value about half to 60 % of the actual price. Serious lack of cleanliness and lack of attention to it in a country with high temperatures. Consequence: a lot of flies, also continuously on the food. We did not experience this in other (clean) Omani locations that we visited. Two of us got serious intestinal problems. Unfriendly and uninterested personnel at the frontdesk. A place that lacked good and effective hotel MANAGEMENT!!

No sign to Al Sawadi at the main road coming from Muscat. Used an hour to find the place.
