It was close to the beach. Decent, clean room. Average mid-range hotel. Good breakfast included. Very good value especially if there is more than one person sharing a room. Late checkout was only available by paying an additional half night room rate which is too much to pay for wanting to stay an extra 2 hours. Far from any shops. I had the option of booking this hotel or Beach Hotel (cheaper). I looked at Beach Hotel when I was there and it was much more basic but in a better location-closer to cafes, restaurants, and taxis. Coral Hotel was a better choice if you prefer a nicer hotel and don't mind a 20min stroll along the beach to the cafes and restaurants (which is a very nice stroll!)

Hotel staff is really warm and welcoming (I'd certainly thank in particular Mudathir there). Location is great, no pool but a good tip is to use Grand Hyatt's facilities for only 10 OR/p.p for a whole day (much less than the price difference between the two hotels). Easy to go for a walk at the beach and a short taxi drive to main sites or airport. Really a good choice that i'd recommend. Decoration a bit tacky and some rooms may not have a superb view (ask for 3rd floor in front of Hyatt, then you may have a glimpse of the Sea)

The location is great as you are within 2 minutes walk on a long non-crowded beach. Also located in the fancy diplomatic district. Great embassies are built around and a supermarked (al fair) is 20 mins walk. It is just placed next to the grand hyatt so you can have a(n alcoholic) drink over there. beds were gread and very clean. reception friendly and helpful. They have a cosy chill out area in front of the hotel with some oriental couches and good reasonably priced dinner. book via booking.com (also on the day of arrival) as walk in guests pay 20% more!!! ATM just in front of the entrance door. taxis available right away. You can not open a single window. The views are not too good. One side shows the Grand Hyatt backside. The other one has hardly any view. bbc channel has a weird sound (a bit electronic) - they have 1 movie chanel with arabic subtitels and cnn. rest is arabic.

Good hotel in a great location very close to the beach for an excellent price. Other reviews seem to be overly critical to me. I stayed in a number of hotels in Muscat, this is by far the best value for the quality/location. Staff also friendly and vey obliging for a late check- out. No facilities but a pass to the Hyatt's pool right next door is OMR 10 for a full day. Coral is not the Hyatt but at 1/4 price + OMR 10 for the Hyatt's pool, it's far better!

The hotel is located 200 metes from the beach. Ideal for walks along the beach front. The wifi was free but not reliable. It has a look of modern appearance from the outside, but its outdated on the inside, however it is adequate in terms of location service, and hospitality. There is a bank and ATM and a beauty salon in the ajoining building, thats if you need currency and a pampering. The price is excessive for the facilities, service, assistance and expertise. The breakfast bar has no idea of food hygine this is very poor. Choice is limited to a few things and beaverages are served cold. Service very poor. Dissapointing food quality dont eat in the hotel. The rooms are quite average for the size but decore is depresing. Bathroom is somehow better but only if the water pressure is high enough to manage a shower. overhall you pay more for less value. The staff although helpfull dont speak very good english so you are always guessing the meaning to your questions. Construction site opposite the hotel. dusty and noisy

The location was nice. A 5 minute walk to the beach, and easy access to one of the main highways. With a baby, we decided to get a suite, and it was an excellent choice. Quite spacious. The breakfast usually had an egg option, a potato option, lots of fruit options and standard cereal and toast. This was not directly an issue with the hotel, but during our visit, there was construction going on around the hotel. They started--right outside our window--between 630-7am every morning. This also took away some parking spaces.

The location & Free Wi-Fi The place had a weird stink. Starting from t he elevator to the corridors and even the rooms. We stayed in Rooms 310 & 311. No views or balconies there, The toilet seat was very old. The flush system was bad and even the carpet looked very old. The breakfast was quite basic

The hotel was ok as 3 stars , for sure you will not find 3 stars hotel as the one in Dubai. In general the hotel was ok, the staff are fine, the hotel itself is little bit old, it’s close to Grand Hayyat , close to the beach also. The internet was ok and free of charge. We didn’t eat at the hotel , the room was with breakfast buffet but we didn’t try it . the price was 165 ++ for three nights it was fair I believe so. The hotel location is in a quiet are , all embassies are there it called al Sarroj area , there is no supermarket near the hotel , there is some restaurants on the beach. The beach 3 minutes by walking . Grand Hayyat is only 2 Minutes walking. There is space for parking , you can rent a car and go around but take your GARMEN. Don’t miss the Shangri-La Muscat its extremely nice, you need 30-45 minutes from coral to Shangri-la. Good hotel and budget one, there is no privet beach for the hotel neither Grand Hayyat, not too much hotels in Muscat have a privet beach. We didn’t like . They know that we are two and they put one towel , first day we asked for it and they were very fast also the second day, third day they put without asking. The room cleanness is ok if you are not picky person at the end this not 5 star hotel but it’s good one.

The Coral Hotel is a charming place perched right next door to the glitzy Grand Hyatt Hotel in Muscat, Oman. It is a smaller, and more intimate hotel designed around a nautical theme so that each room feels like a cabin on a ship. We stayed in a glorious corner room that was more like a suite with its living room and adjoining bedroom. The breakfast buffet in the intimate dining room was excellent and the cheerful staff were available to provide extra towels, a map, and driving directions upon request. The best aspect of this hotel is its proximity to one of the nicest beaches in Muscat - just two blocks away! We took long walks and collected seashells along the beach and then came back to the hotel for a nap. Very nice! The hotel seemed to be a little overpriced, but that was perhaps because it was a holiday weekend and most of the hotels in Muscat were sold out. There was a little bit of construction going on near the entrance that will hopefully be completed by spring of 2012.

Well the room was neat and bed is comfortable. I liked the idea of sheesha service next to the hotel in a tent. Too many charges on every service included. The most important terrible incident occurred of having dinner served to my room with no cover on the plate. as a hygeine purpose, no one knows what might the food had caught on the way to my room.
