An enchanting Arabic jewel, Muscat was already an important port in the 1st century. With a strict building code that imposes respect to heights and styles, the city has developed a harmonized and traditional look that makes it irresistible. Don’t miss the traditional Muttrah Souq marketplace, considered one of the best in the region.
The city is actually composed of three towns: Muscat is the walled Old Town where royal palaces are located; Muttrah includes the old and new harbours and the Corniche seafront; and Ruwi is the commercial and diplomatic area. Check out the Muscat hotels map on Booking.com and choose your preferred location!
The city is surrounded by the Western Al Hajar Mountains, and the crystalline waters and sandy beaches of the Arabian Sea. Staying in a Muscat hotel on the beach is a great way to enjoy the beautiful Gulf of Oman views.
The modern and elegant Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is one of the largest in the world. Don’t miss the twin forts of Al Jalali and Al Mirani, and the Qasr Al Alam Royal Palace.
Before departing to Muscat International Airport, check the deals for hotels, resorts, and B&B’s available on Booking.com!
A must visit. Great hospitality. Amazing people. Clean city.
A must visit. Great hospitality. Amazing people. Clean city. Variety of food options. Wonderful landscapes. Just avoid summer month (April - November). And public transport is not up to mark. Sultan Qaboos mosque is something you don't want to miss.

Muscat is a Jewel of Middle East but as an independent Solo traveler who enjoys walking and use public transports , I tend to struggle. The infrastructure is just not there comparing to Dubai where one has an option to use the Metro from A to B.
Oman is spread out even from Muttrah to City you need a Taxi. Walking from Ghubra which is only a distant away from Millenium Apt, you would struggle to find a continuous pavement to walk on. So come on Oman work towards Eco Friendly.
Nizwa is always my favourite place❤️
Try street food “mishkaki” bbq meat at Ghubra or Just pass AlMouj complex.
Avoid May, June July August (hottest season) unless you are travelling to Salalah which is cooler season.

Muscat and Oman in general is a lovely destination for outdoorsy people. Mountains and desert trips are a must. Also the coastal area is nice and Mutra is a nice area where the Royal palace and fort is. Would recommend a trip to the desert, Wadi Bani and Nizwa and Jabreen Fort. Grand mosque is lovely to see. Beaches are OK, but not really touristy. People are so friendly and welcoming. It is not easy to get around Muscat if you are walking - it is impossible, you have to get taxis or hire a car.

Best you purchase a local sim card with local Omani phone number that can only be purchased at the airport.
Local food is cheap but transport can be expensive.
Hotels are good value
Oman focus more on culture and tradition whilst up-grading most infrastructure and does not have the "show off" atmosphere of UAE
It is THE BEST HOTEL i have stayed in and gives a real 5 star feel. The facilities, size of room, private beach, pool and just the quality of attentiveness from staff was excellent. A true 5-star hotel. A few staff to give special praise to include Dickson, Morgan, Amanya, Jassim and Dawood and all of the staff at the aperitif hour who were so attentive and held great conversation. The number of things that come inclusive of your room are brilliant and really just make the experience that extra special.
The hotel is new, clean and comfortable. i could sleep quietly without any noise. The bathroom is pretty big. there’s a chair if you want to work at the desk and an armchair, too. the best thing is the Wi-Fi: excellent! i could work from my laptop with a hotel Wi-Fi for the first time since in Oman. The stuff is kind and helpful - Jaidul of the room service was ready to help. i highly recommend this hotel and I’ll stay here anytime I’ll be in Muscat
A wonderful place to stay. Rooms and facilities are always clean and fresh. I stayed a couple of nights and always got the best service. parking below the hotel makes everything even more convenient.
Price, quality was excellent and on some nights I even got a room upgrade.
The best of all is the wonderful staff, they took such good care of me. complements for each and every one of them. If I come back to Oman, this is definitely the place to book!
We stayed at the hotel to enjoy an evening at Tokyo Taro restaurant. The Hotel is a forgotten gem with the most amazing staff and rooms.
We stayed in a delux room which was as good as any 5 star hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff couldn’t do enough for us from checkin to checkout.
The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had in a hotel.
Thank you to the Al Falaj for making out staycation so enjoyable
Kempinski is a great hotel, very well positioned compared to some other high-end resorts. It's very close to the airport and all the main attractions, while also being right by the beach, so you have the best of both worlds. The staff is very kind, polite, and helpful. The breakfast caters to every taste. My only regret is not having spent more time at the hotel, as I was always on day tours!
-Bait al bar restaurant and their amazing staff
-Beach
-extreemely helpful staff
-whatsapp chat, where you can find almost all the answers, book tours etc, very good!
-buffet and breakfast, and generally food were good
-beautiful birds flying around the tertitory
-very green territory in comparison to other hotels in Oman
The hotel building is amazing and quite beautiful especially the restaurant and the view is magnificent. The room and the bathroom were big enough and clean. The food at the seafood restaurant very tasty.
The staff is friendly. The location is near the airport and so little far from the city
Clean hotel. The best place to stay at the transit zone from the airport. Only ten minutes from the boarding gates away. Six hours flight from Zuerich, 12 hours fantastic rest, seven hours flight to Kuala Lumpur with Oman Air. Best choice. Not a exhausting none stop flight.
The hotel is in an excellent location. It is in the prime area of Muscat (Al Khuwair), where you have many convenient stores nearby. Also, lot of Indian eating joints around the hotel. Considering all the positives, the property is reasonably priced.
Fantastic place. Loved the hotel staff. Good breakfast. Everything is nearby the hotel like malls, Omani sweets, Restaurants & International airport.
If you are in muscat, definitely have a staycation in Ramada encore.
