We have drove all the way from Muscat. Once we got there by 22h, we couldn't find that place and they wouldn't pick up the phone !!!

The location, an old town surrounded by dates trees, was perfect. The room was nice and confortable, dinner was great and Yakob was very kind to us. I hope to be his guest again and would recommend the guesthouse to everybody!

Great value when it comes to Oman as included half board. Great to get into the hills and palm tree shade away from the 46*C heat for a day. The village itself is east to get to and go on the walks around it yourself.

Village comment: Villagers seemed to be quite wary of camera touting tourists, with signs up to such affect down some alleys - no doubt due to all the previous years of such snapping them. As always best to ask first as it's a small village.

Location is unique in a traditional Omani mountain village. Mountain location and sense of history adds to the experience.

beautiful surroundings, attractive view out of the window. Very quiet indeed.

Dreadful smell in toilets which are combined with shower. Bare room with mattresses on floor. No cupboard, no chair, no bedside table, plain nothing . . . Very simple food, fish only, at 21:20 we guests were asked to return to their rooms. No location for extra chat with other guests. Breakfast dull, masses of flies! We left with the impression that guests are welcomed for their money only.

The place is superb in perfect location. Mountains, Palm trees, natural running water, intact country side especially the Old Misfah House, real old village kept to its origin. You want to have peaceful time in great natural place, be there. Professional treatment, yummy meals cooked and prepared by the locals beautiful dinner at the terrace surrounded by the Palm trees, mountains and valley and listening to the running water from the mountains into the streams. The bedrooms is very traditional and clean almost to the **1/2 hotel service.Experience sleeping on the traditional way of Oman on the floor with reasonable comfortable.

Location is very spectacular. Nice trekking expeditions available. Courteous staff.

Unable to enjoy a stary night sky as lights were kept on late into the evening.

The house is located within a palm oasis - a wonderful location and most likely unique in Oman. Great marketing: a lot of German and Swiss tourists staying for one night presumably thinking this is an Omani adventure to sleep on simple mattresses and then moving on to more luxurious accommodation with their guides :-) Our friends who met up with us there were made to feel welcome even though they were not staying.

The price is way too high for sleeping on mattresses on the floor and the rather poor bathroom facilities. At least some hooks would be appreciated so clothes can be hung, especially in the bathroom where it's wet.

traditional guest house in wadi, good to very good facilities & cleanliness & comfort given the environment, rooms have their own or shared bathrooms depending on the category, very helpful & friendly staff, call the guest house and you will be picked up at the village center and guided to guest house, beautiful views on the wadi and Misfah, higher-category rooms with large open terrace, starting point for hiking the wadi and the village, guest house organizes various outdoor activities in the mountains

guest house cannot be reached by car, however very friendly & helpful staff will pick you up and help you with your luggage - not a disadvantage but you should be aware of the fact

Absolutely amazing experience to spend a night in this beautiful village amidst lush vegetation. Dinner and breakfast was good. The shower worked really well.

Not dislike, but a warning: Pack light, parking is a few hundreds meters away from the guest house, up and down stairs. Not advisable for people with a walking problem.

The location was perfect for hitting the hightlights of the area: Bahla Fort, Jebel Shams, Ibri Castle, as well as the town that the hotel itself is located. It was all perfect for us.

The setting and the traditional style of the facilities are unique for Oman. The staff was kind and attentive and there are lots of available activities that can be organized form the hotel.

It could be useful to have portable unltrasound devices to keep mosquitos off in the rooms.

Great and peaceful atmosphere of ancient stone house in old village in mountains. Very good traditional Omani cousin. Great and friendly staff.

Bad organization of shared bathroom. Washbasin is outside the bath located in hall with no door or curtain. There is no privacy when brushing you teeth. No shelf nearby and no hairdryer in the bathroom. Free drinking water was not available during a day.

We only had 2 days in Oman and the Misfud old house, located in the traditional village and within the oasis secreted up in the mountains was the cultural experience we craved. The Omani dinner served on the roof with other travellers was also delicious and in beautiful setting. Fascinating insight into traditional life and wonderful walks on well made paths down into the valley.

When we stayed only one of the shared bathrooms was functioning, not ideal.

The opportunity to stay in a typical Omani house in a very picturesque and historical village. Brilliant!

There was nothing that I personally didn't like - but if someone came here expecting a 5* hotel with all mod cons - this is not it!

Beautiful setting, rustic and comfortable rooms

It wasn't traditional Omani food, as we had read online
