This is my third stay in Ruwi in the past 6 months.. This time..i was just not comfortable. The Toilet was smelling something bad even before I used.. This was brought to the notice on day1..On day2 they fixed but it recurring after a day...i was too busy with my work and did not have much time to follow-up. Fyi, I stayed in 501 and if they could fix it...it would help guests in future...Also, this time I did not get complimentary breakfast since I booked online...something..i did not like and do not agree.

Location (nearby the bus station); reasonable price (given Omanian standards...) Too loud night club (even if you stay at the 7th floor)

I have stayed five times at Ruwi Hotel over the past two years. In short the hotel is value for money! Do not expect 5 star as you do not pay for that. However, this time I noticed that there was fresh fruit in my room every day; that the Bfast was included which is has not been before and the choice was far better than another hotel in Oman I stayed in - at double the price. Check in was efficient and likewise checkout. I also noticed that a new door in front of the Club Bar has been installed - which I guess takes some of the noise, that some people have complained about. I stayed at the 6th floor and noticed that the room was nicer than last time at the 4th floor. Staff are overall friendly!

Clean and spacious room and the wifi worked in the room (although I know it doesn't in some rooms). Staff were friendly and efficient. Well stocked mini bar at reasonable prices. Others have commented on the noise from the 'Club Bar' on the 1st floor. I was on the 7th floor and didn't hear any noise even on a Friday night.

The room was comfortably cozy. We had a great view. The mini-bar was stocked well. If you are male bring pants for the night club. No entrance without them.

It is a quick drive to Muttrah corniche and Old City Muscat. Rooms were clean. Located next to the expressway so easy on and off for city sightseeing. Pool was uncomfortable for single female travelers. Local men sitting and staring (and sometimes waving) and hotel staff used it as a walk through short cut to the kitchen. Parking was limited next to the hotel but a large lot was located across the street.

Friendly staff, good breakfast (wide choice), easy and free transport to the airport. Teething troubles with the WiFi (as of Feb. 2012); interesting bureaucracy in the restaurant.

Nice place to start your business communications in Oman. The Hotel is placed on top of a mountain and is centrally located near quite a few areas which are important business hubs. Although its quite far away from the industrial zone of Rusail and another place I cant remember its name. Nice places to eat around specially Pakistani and Indian cuisines, with close by Masjid for prayers. Lot of general stores and other shops around makes it a good place to stay. The bar on the ground level is a too loud and one can hear the noise on 8th Floor (its quite loud actually). The breakfast menu is not upto the standard and I think quite high priced with the limited dished they offer.

Returning after a 2 year absence, very pleasing to notice big improvement in standards, decor and comfort. The new management and owners are making ongoing improvements. Good value for money and I will book this hotel again.

The reason for chossing Ruwi Hotel was the location within Muscat, the price being economical at the time other hotels increased their prices. I did not like the fact that the booking was done through Booking . com the breakfast was not included in the price. While I had to travel out of the hotel for breakfast there were the other guest that enjoyed the hotel breakfast service.
