Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa  

Nice facilities and overall a very pleasant stay. Excellent swimming pools and pleasant beach.

Cost of drinks and evening meals was high before adding 17% tax on top! Al Waha restaurant did not warm plates which was disappointing. It was also noisy when children were present as the noise echoed.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The service and food was excellent. The upgraded premier room was very comfortable. The swimming pools were great (although a bit warm as we were were there in May). The location is stunning. The grounds were beautifully looked after. All in all an excellent resort hotel!

The hotel is quite a long way from the airport and city and I would suggest getting a hire car so that you can visit local attractions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shangri-La and would stay there again except that it is a very long way from New Zealand where we live and I doubt that we will be back in Oman again. Thank you for the memories. I wonder why you do not have a gift shop at the hotel although it was very relaxing not having shops around!!

Rooms are not that clean, old furniture, old TV found some ants inside room. Expensive cost for the room.

I stayed with my wife at Al Waha Hotel and the location is great and so relaxing The staff were so friendly and helpful The breakfast buffet was delicious with a big variety

There is always hot water that comes out from the tap and you need to wait for some time to be able to wash your hand or get a shower without getting burned

The resort is beautiful and offering many activities: watersport, tennis, ... The staff is pretty professional, however some of them speak barely English or really insufficient English. The staff at the restaurant sultanah is not at the level of a high-level restaurant. The wiaters shall be much better trained. The wine list is extremely expensive, and the waiters have poor knowledge of the food and wine. However aprt from the Value for Money (the hotel is somewaht too expensive), I will still recommend it as the rsort is beautiful and overall I enjoyed a good stay.

The restaurants of the resort are way too expensive for waht it is, and the value for money is really average, especially for tapas (the portion are outrageously small: I never had seen such a small portion of "tortilla" in my entire life; sultanah is way too expensive for what it is and overrated. The only restaurant that is really worth the price and stand out is the Moroccan one in Al husn.

It was my wish to stay at Barr Al Jissah Resort. Nice resort.

Since it's purely family oriented, too much of children around.

Excellent location facilities and spa

We had stayed before which was the reason for chosing the hotel again. If it was for the excellent location and surrounding and facilities we would have checked out. This time the stay did not meet our expectation. The price vs. the value for money was in no relation. The hotel had the atmosphere of a Mallorca budget traveler hotel. It was apparent that the hotel was understaffed for the amount of people and surely the staff was overworked. Overall we were extremly disappointed and will not book again. After all there are many more beautiful hotels in similar good locations in Oman

The Staff were very friendly and in the resturants very attentive, the resort was very peaceful well at least in the resort that we stayed as the resort is split into 3 hotels 2 of which cater for families and one that caters for strictly over 18 year olds. If you want a break without children then you must opt for the over 18 years "Al Husan" and I gurantee that you will have an enjoyable stay.

No Real complaints other than you may have to get up earily if you want a good spot around the pool, it appears that many people get up just to put thier towels on the loungers around and then do not turn up for most of the day, I am sure this is a problem around the world but it was the worst I have seen it during our stay!

It was just like paradise when we entered in this hotel at the first day , The room service and the breakfast area was superb , I will recommend this hotel to couples with children's , because they are 100% couples with children's .

The think that I just didn't like is that there wasn't an event for adults without children , all I saw and heard was the children's shouting and crying , it's good for these kind of hotel to have a separate space for those who have not a child , the pool area was 100% for children and I was so bored , for example it was a live show at the night , but they just sanged for children's .

The amazing staff of the Shangri-La Muscat went a step further than the early check-in we had asked for and upgraded us to a sea view room when we had booked a pool-facing room. Everything about our weekend stay was just wonderful. The staff were friendly and extremely attentive, re- filling the carry-on cooler with water bottles before we even asked for it. We enjoyed the good food, good wine and very relaxed atmosphere. It's definitely on our radar for short relaxing weekend breaks :)

Absolutely beautiful!!! The staff was supurb and catered to our every need. Definitely lived up to our expectations. It was a great weekend of relaxation and birthday celebrations. Will definitely go again. Thank you Shangri-La!
