We had a big comfortable room with a spacious balcony and nice ocean views. The air-conditioning worked well and it was nice and clean. Convenient location, and the staff was helpful, very friendly and spoke English well. I really liked our room :)
Just a few things: One day we had a "Don't disturb" sign put on our doorknob, however, one of the staff members ignored it, opened the door and entered the room. I was very surprised he did not knock on the door. Or at least make sure we were not in the room first before just opening the door. All he said to me that he needed to water the plant in the balcony... Breakfast was just OK, and the Internet keeps breaking up during the day, although it is good in the early mornings and late evenings. But that is an issue for most of Bocas town so it's ok. Other than that we had a good comfortable stay :)
Nice hotel, very clean, staff friendly, discount if you pay cash
First we were in a room where the balcony was next to the street. In the night it was incredible loud. The next day we could change rooms. Before booking check where your room is. I can't recommend the hotel restaurant.
Most of the staff and the owner extremely nice and helpfull. Beautiful small hotel. Nice location. I can recommend this place.
Room just ok, a little small. With air conditioning nice and cool, but loud. Without AC it gets too hot.
Staff rude and they don't care.
Bed was nice, big and comfy. Daily cleaning was good.
Room was not what we expected for the price we paid and the description we were given. Was quite small. Safe did not work. Asked for quite room when we booked- was noisey. Staff did not offer help with anything. -were not very friendly. Could of easily stayed somewhere that was cheaper and nicer.
There was no hot water or wifi in our room
Originally booked 2 nights. People told us that we would not want to stay on the main island because it was to busy. It was not crowded at all. Very clean, good comfortable beds and nice hot steady water for showers. Added 3 more nights to our original stay.
The hotel/bed & breakfast was quaint & comfortable. We felt right at home. Breakfast was cooked to order daily &we sat in the open air restaurant&watched the morning rain over the water. It was beautiful& relaxing. The staff was very friendly& always helpful. Carla, the owner was there often & very interested in making sure everyone was happy. Rudy was a tremendous help everyday. He made homemade soup , at no charge, when my companion got sick & served it to our room with a candle, guava juice & gingerale! Carla made sure we had plenty of ginger ale too! The girls at the front desk were sweet & always smiling & helpful. The housekeeping staff were excellent& one sweet lady even washed our muddy clothes, from ATV excursion, for us & returned them to our room clean, folded, & bagged! No charge! We were really made to feel like family! We met people at breakfast from all over the world. When not raining, happy hour on deck is fun too. Loved this place! Had big deck perfect for morning coffee & evening drinks! Would have liked water view but those all booked. Would definitely return & recommend without hesitation!
Nothing to complain about!
Weather poor.Rooms way to small.A/c not working up to par.Restaurant only open after 2:30pm
All of the staff was wonderful making sure all was okay
Wonderful location, fabulous ocean-facing balcony, very cold A/C, great happy hour
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Loud music from bars close by, and was lead to believe by Fodor's that noise was only from street (ie: street front rooms ) so we paid a much higher price for a water view room off of the street and found the noise much louder from the bar bands next to the Hotel.
Decor, Deck - literally on the water. Staff was friendly and attentive.
When booking on line, I indicated the ages of my adult children with whom I was travelling (indicating 3 adults). The hotel charged me an extra $30/night pleading the website was in error in allowing me to book 1 room for 3 adults (even though there was a queen and single bed in the room). Definitely would not recommend this hotel now as there are plenty of equally delightful hotels in the area at 1/2 the price.
Really enjoyed the location and the staff at the hotel. Very relaxing stay!
Staff was great, breakfast was good, convenient to restaurants, water taxi and tour services, bed fairly comfortable.
Expensive for quality of hotel, very busy area of town.
Excellent located and charming hotel (old wooden building). Staff at reception very helpful. Room is very clean and smells nice.
Barely slept due to noise from street and bars (had a room on first floor on street side). Restaurant (including breakfast) is not impressive. Wifi is pretty slow.
Great standard the room is beautufully decorated wonderful wooden floors bed is a dream and the best towels ever. The staff are exceptional location in the heart of Bocas del Toro. It has seating areas overlooking the water. Breakfast very good. All in all a good place to stay.
I stayed in the front 1st floor room which is on the main street good for viewing but a little noisy early in morning when the pub next door closes. They offered me a choice a room at the back or this one. So it was my choice.
Great view from hotel restaurant. Rooms a bit small but nicely furnished. Rooms with a sea view probably much better as they will have a balcony.
No balcony in our room (but that is what we booked).
It was right on the ocean, staff so friendly.
I liked the position and the staff was very nice.
the room was small and airconditioning was very noisy.
The staff and devor was fantastic and the location perfect. The food was good. The staff were very apologetic about the booking disaster and misleading advertising on booking.com and offerred us their gorgeous large suite for the two rooms that were booked by your company. We did have to pay extra for the suite and will contact booking.com when we get back to get a credit.
Booking.com was misleading. I asked for the best views and quite rooms based on the photo you used to advertise the hotel. The photo you use is a photo of a room that the hotel NEVER offers to booking.com so it was a HUGE dissapointment and false advertising to use the photo to promote the hotel. We were very mad to learn that we were booked for one room facing the noisy street and one in the middle of the hotel without any view at all. I read it could be noisy and se officially told the booking.com agent I wanted sea views and quiet rooms and got nothing I asked for.
Beautiful varnished hardwood floors and trim throughout. Really comfortable beds and big room. Comfortable chairs/recliner on balcony. Powerful aircon. Best internet i found in Bocas (it's all relative...2.5meg/sec download, just about enough to watch the live stream of Pipeline Masters while I was there!). Free communal Water cooler
The aircon/fan unit was a little noisy, not enough to stop you sleeping but enough to need to turn the AV volume up The included breakfast was nice but was presented by the waitress in a way that sounded very stingy, for example Drink options weren't offered out and was made to feel like I was pushing my luck asking for a juice in addition to coffee
