Our stay was too short!
My husband and I just came back from a 7 night stay at the Kibutz de Rita in David. We loved the hospitality from Moty and Rita, they made us feel at home with them. All the meals were really good, even extra servings for Dinner, well worth the $ 15.00 per person charge. Rita is an excellent cook, always something different for breakfast and dinner. You definitely got your money's worth.
The beds were real comfortable, we never had a bad nights sleep. We never expected daily room service and a change of linen while we were there, but got it. The B & B (which is what it reminds us of) is rated as a Hostel, but the service was far more than a Hostel. A pleasant surprise, not your typical Hostel experience. Very clean and comfortable, great location. Just a $2.00 cab ride from the center of town. Lots of tropical birds, three toucans and three monkeys to entertain you. It was nice to feed the monkeys, they are so friendly, overall a great experience. There is a pool table which was nice, we loved using it at night. Our room had a TV, which was convenient considering there was Fifa Copa Mundial 2014 Soccer on. Moty even gave us a ride a few times, once to get our bus tickets and once to get our bus at 3am. Which is above and beyond what we expected of the service.
We took 2 tours with Moty, in addition he took us all around the city to explain the areas to us. We mentioned we were considering relocating to Panama and interested in the areas around his house. The tours covered a lot of things we wanted to see such as: Waterfalls, visited a wood carving master with a demonstration, Cigar wrapping, Sugar processing with an old wooden machine manned by Oxen, saw how pineapples were processed at a Pineapple plantation (able to take some samples), Coffee plantation in the upper elevation of Boquete and the Boquete area , we went to the Hot springs by horseback, not to be missed (great experience). They were the best tours that to ok all day.
