The room was very confortable, confortable pillows and bed. Everything worked perfectly (cable tv, air condition and Wi-fi) The location, was just a 5 m walk to the center.
Breakfeast, wasn't the best. The only thing we got, was orange juice (soda) if we wanted fresh fruit juices we had to pay about 3 USD; coffe and a Muffin. Obviously, their intention is to sell, a breakfeast, wich we can choose, between eggs, omelet, muesli... Be sure, you bring with you more money, for breakfeast. By the way, they only accept cash (USD)
Staff was very helpful. The location was around the corner from the loud music and parades last weekend. Good TV. Good wifi. Decent breakfast. Nice view.
Too much rain!
Great hotel for the price. Hot showers which can be hard to come by in Bocas. Rooms were clean with AC and stuff was friendly. Would stay here again if ever back in the area.
Hotel is located in several minutes by feet from the main street, so you won't have that much noise, which is good. The balconies have hammocks and a lovely view over the sea. The breakfast was also fine.
The rooms are pretty basic. There were two of us but we got a room with two double beds and no wardrobes or tables for our belongings. We could also hear people from the next room, so the walls are not very thick. Stuff doesn't seem to speak English a lot but it is not a big problem However this hotel is fine for a one or two night stay
Great location Good facilities and comfort (in suites) Best dive center in town (Bocas Dive Center) within 5mns walk
Asking 110CA$ in cash for a room originally booked 65CA$ through booking.com Asking 10CA$ extra in cash for a real breakfast arguing that breakfast included with the room is the cheapeast industrial coffee and orange juice available in town So trying to get +85% more than agreed at booking during stay Giving no receipt for cash payments and still running after us the day of departure arguing that we did not pay for everything ... but unable to find out how much we actually paid To say the least, dishonest and unprofessional management team
unfriendly staff really dirty bathroom "burning" shower
on the water
Breakfast was good
The lady in the lobby is not friendly
Spacious and very clean rooms. Attentive and professional staff, wonderful location with ease of access to downtown Bocas. Delightful open air lounge area for enjoying the ocean setting. Bilingual staff able and pleased to book any travel or excursion plans you may need !
An alarm/clock radio in the room would have been very helpful.
Great location to restaurants and water taxis. Good breakfast. I will stay here again if i ever come back to bocas!
The hotel is good for the price you pay.
Good quite location, hammocks to relax in. Good breakfast.
Staff overworked at breakfast time so could be long wait
Loved the location, close to the "downtown" yet far enough removed to not feel like a tourist. Panamanian families lives accross the street and on either side of the building which made it feel more authentic. We did however stay in a suite, and I thought it looked a bit nicer in the photos online than in real life. Shay the manager was friendly and great, and they have an awesome free breakfast in the morning (: would recommend hotel olas.
We liked the bar / eating area with the hammocks.
We could only get wifi in our room, not that this was a major problem.
Staff were mostly friendly and the view created a very tranquil setting
Breakfast took far too long and there could have been more good options
For the price this was excellent. The breakfast was amazing, the coffee very good. Staff very accommodating
high prices for rental of bike and kayak when we were staying at the hotel
nice location on the water , friendly staff, quiet.
breakfast was limited ,would have liked more fruit and yogurt.
Excellent place. Conveniently located away from the confusion of the main street yet very close. Nice building built over the water with a great terrace at water level where a very good breakfast is served. On the upper levels there are other smaller and quieter longes. Cute decoration. Some of the rooms have great views of the sea. Loved the hammocks hanging from the balcony. Would not hesitate and book it again!
The staff were fantastic, we enjoyed our stay so much we returned to this hotel later on during our holiday. The free breakfast was awesome, the wifi was great, the staff were very friendly. Loved this place!!
The staff here really made your stay great, we come to Bocas Town regularly and usually stay in small hotels/ hostels. This place had a wonderful patio deck over the water and friendly staff who took very good care of the guests and kept everyone smiling and laughing. i recommend it to anyone traveling to Bocas.
Olas is a really nice hostel with friendly and very helpful staff and the location is very beautiful. No reason to complain!
The Hotel is fantastic, situated in Bocas town on stilts in the water, not close to the very noisy water Taxis. Brilliant service and management always willing to help, great breakfasts (you must try the Shakshuka) and amazing views of sunset - highly highly recommend.
Nicely laid out hotel. Relaxing on one of the decks or in one of the hammocks as the sun is setting with hummingbirds buzzing around you is a pretty nice experience. Ben, the manager, is a very friendly helpful (english speaking) person. The complimentary breakfast is very basic but for a small fee I would recommend the shakshooka (eggs poached in a tomato based sauce). The snorkeling directly beneath the hotel is surprisingly good. Although I can't give Hotel Olas a high score for things like 'cleanliness' and 'wi-fi' all in all I enjoyed my time there and would stay there again.
Wi-fi is difficult to pick up on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The air-con didn't work in our room, but it wasn't a problem as we were given a different room immediately when we brought it to the attention of the staff. The hotel is pretty dated and as other reviewers have said, you will find little critters like geckos running around the walls of your room at night... but that comes with the territory when you're in the Caribbean and, in my opinion it just adds to the experience.
The familiar ambience and fast service when needed.
Our stay was to short to experience that.
View from the terrace.
bad soundproofing of the room. We had a room at the ground floor and it was noisy (night club/bars closed to hotel and people who come back late). Breakfast is very light (coffee/tea, one bad (not natural) orange juice and a muffin).
