Score from 670 reviews Very good
we enjoyed the quietness of the Jungle and its scenery. of the two restaurants at the hotel we ate at one. great mix of local and comfort food.
While we enjoyed the quietness of the Jungle, Getting to the city was a task. This hotel is not frequented by taxis.
Poor management. Breakfast and dinner buffets were very repetitive in their composition and did not correspond to the quality expected in the 4 star hotel
The staff was extremely nice. Facilities were clean The food quality was absolutely delicious
Nothing to do on a weeknight
- overall very pleasant place to stay, I would come stay again - location is very beautiful - rooms are very big, bright and comfortable
- almost nobody speaks English there - need to call 10 times in order to get something done, presumably it is because of language barrier. - one day there was a wedding in the pool area, so walls were shaking from the music until 12am. Hotel didn't seem to care about other guests which wanted to sleep. - service was probably the worse from all the places I've been in Panama, but for the price and location it is still good. Funny story: I went down to reception to tell them that batteries for TV remote control are dead. Reception lady called somebody right away and said that they will come to me to change these batteries, so I went back to my room in order to wait. After 30 minutes nobody showed up, so I called and asked what is going on, on which I got an answer that they came to reception with batteries and because I was not there they just left. They knew my room number and reception lady saw that I'm going back to my room. Who is right, who is wrong? Well, it was really funny at least.
I love the attention, the rooms, the forest in the middle of the city, it felt cozy and warm
mosquitoes after 6:00 pm
Personnel at the restaurant very friendly, excellent service. Front desk personnel very limited, but helped as much as they could. the view is precious, room very clean and spacious.
Breakfast very limited, not much variety. To far away from city and taxi service very expensive.
The hotel is surrounded by the Soberania National Park and had sweeping views of lush vegetation. Our seventh-floor room had beautiful views of the park--we observed over two dozen species of bird, a sloth, iguana, and squirrels from our balcony. A true tropical paradise. This hotel could not be better situated for those looking to enjoy all that Soberania and the canal zone have to offer. Designers of the room thought of everything--a motion activated night light to guide you to the bathroom at night, a roomy shower, adequate and tasteful lighting, plenty of surfaces for unpacking suitcases. Breakfast was ample and varied. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Our fridge was broken and was not fixed during our stay. Few dining options for those without a car and far from Tocumen airport. We had no idea there was a nature trail or a butterfly house!
I liked the food and the room.
The kid's pool was not clean (it had some bugs on it and the water was not totally clear). The adult one has a missing glass in the fence.
Excellent, helpful, friendly staff. Comfortable bed, great room. Nice golf course.
Like new, clean and comfortable. Friendly staff.
Unless you are staying there for golf, the location is too far from Gamboa tourist attractions. The staff was not able to provide sufficient information re/ area attractions (e.g., birding sites) or transportation other than expensive taxi rides.
The beautiful setting
Not enough choices for the dinner meal. Being so remote, eating at the same place and menu.
Wonderful beds. Huge swimming pool. Friendly staff. Central air was great. Not a lot of food choices nearby, resteurant food ok.
Language and communication was difficult. Only one sink inside the bathroom. I wanted a wash cloth and couldn't make them understand. Don't bother with the balcony, there is no screens so you can't go out after 6 pm and it overlooks the parking lot and all the golfers arrive early.
Beautiful location surrounded by rainforest, close to the canal and Gamboa and also convenient for driving to the Caribbean coast. Loved the nature trail and butterfly house in the grounds. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room very comfortable.
Location is great for visiting the countryside around Panama City, but not for visiting the city itself. Also, there aren't any other dining options close by, so you're limited to the onsite restaurants.
The hotel manager and customer service representative in the lobby were particularly helpful. Beautiful location. Golf course a "plus" for those who enjoy the game. Transportation service (shuttle bus, local trips on demand).
Some restaurant employees did not seem to be properly trained. Minimal customer service skills. Buffet breakfast was the same every day. Repetitious, lack of variety.
Golf course and staf is friendly
Glasses got lost at Reception, not much staff support afterwards Restaurant was not great
The door lock card readers did not work during our two night stay at the hotel meaning we had to hunt down a security guard anytime we wanted to get back into our room. Not even an mild apology from the hotel staff. And when we wanted to book an additional nights stay they wanted to make us use the internet to book it rather than giving us the internet rate while there in person....until we spoke to the duty manager who solved the issue for us. Not the best customer service we've encountered. Overall not too impressed!!
Nice, clean hotel just outside of the city with nice grounds for walking around. Breakfast buffet was great.
There aren't any hummingbird feeders set up
The bedroom (406) was clean and comfortable, There was a shortage of tea, coffee and milk, only two sachets of each available, not sufficient really. The swimming pool and childrens pool was very good and the attendant in a White Coat excellent in his attention re loungers etc. The same gentleman was also attentive to customers needs.
1. The failure of the booked transportation to collect us from the airport meaning the hire of a taxi after a long wait on arrival. 2. On the 30th.Dec. 31st.Dec and 2nd.Jan, the restaurant was late opening - 6.30am + and when it did so there was no hot food available, no juices or coffee. For those three we had just fresh fruit and toast, with a late coffee before leaving for tours in the Panama City area. Totally unacceptable for a Hotel of such supposed standard. 3. On the 1st Jan. the hot food resembled something like left overs from the New Years Eve Dinner the night before.Toast and coffee the only alternative. 4. On the late afternoon of 1st. Jan. a meal in the restaurant resulted in us being served with two çold meals'which were sent back. The reserved meals were also cold so were rejected in total. Very poor service. 5. On checking out were were presented with our bill which included the transportation cost.Only after some strong remarks was the amount reluctantly taken off the account. 6. At no time did we feel the reception area staff were on the ball being able to assist or provide information such as, venue of the ATM, map of immediate hotel grounds. Equally the reception area left a lot to be desired by design and surely assisting in pre flight check in arrangements is not too much to ask. Therefore, it goes without saying, our stay at the Radission Summit Hotel was not what was expected and we could not recommend the hotel for future custom. George H Dafnis
