it is a bit like a motel with the cars parked infront of the cabanas.
Internet was poor but no one in the area has Internet that is any better.
Location was very good. Iris, the manager, is exceptional. The food is very good and nicely served.
No hot water - warm maybe The thinnest toilet paper I have ever seen - really bring your own
Location primo Cleanliness Friendly Staff
Wifi not dependable A bit overpriced
After a long long drive in our rented car from Panama City we arrived at Cabanas Time Out in the dark with heavy rain in the evening on the 22.nd of December. The welcome the staff gave us was very good and from their hearts - the first dinner we had was great seafood and we stayed on for 4 nights and had such a lovely time and more very good seafood even for x-mas dinner. Philip the owner and his staff was wunderfull in every respect - we had such o good x-mas!
Santa Catalina is a lovely surfing town, and the cabanas were very nice! overlooking the pacific with a great swimming pool and very nice freshly prepared food (often seafood) at a reasonable prices
The water in showers is not really hot, but rather lukewarm, but considering the remoteness of the place and the proximity of the beaches, it did not matter much. It is probably the most luxurious accommodation in Santa Catalina
Really clean and well equipt apartments, the view to the ocean is breath taking. The swimming pool was all the time clean and the staff take care of us, even offered to take us to our bus when leaving. I would recommend staying there if you prefer tidy rooms with A/C and laying near the swimming pool. If you want more action, search for the place near the main street of Santa Catalina.
The place is bit away from Santa Catalina life, will have to walk a distance on foot to all the bars, surfing spots. Food at the bar is quite expensive and even breakfast aren't included in the price. Also we had to arrange all our trips by ourselves.
The highlight of our trip we loved every bit of this hotel great place with good service and fantastic sea food. The room are clean and well thought out which was the first thing we noticed. They all come with a full kitchen and large size fridge with everything you would need to cook with. There is a large pool with a swim up bar attached which really is refreshing taste. As to the food we would really recommend this place a must try.We had the best burgers ever with some home fries that where out of this world we have never had fries like the ones offered there.Philip the owner arranged our trip to Cobia for us through a local dive shop and things went as where expected. His staff and his attention that he gave to us was really appreciated .They made us feel more than just a guest we made some new friends and will soon be back. The seafood we had after the trip was on our top 5 list (try the jumbo shrimp on pasta with white sauce) the cook Iris is great with the guest along with her cooking. We also had some clams for starters good choice All in all we did not have to leave this hotel because we found everything we needed right there. We did drive around the small town and checked out a few other places and we are glad we picked Cabanas time out .The service was top notch. The attention that was given to us was superb and really made us feel good about the place.Keep it up.We don't very often rave about a place like this but that deserve every bit of this.
The internet was spotty but it was usable. Most other places have the same internet system we where told.
