Pros: The hotel is great for the value, I booked this room low season for $50. It is very clean and close to the Plaza de Armas, Cusco city center, the hotel allows you to leave some of your luggage if you head to Machu Piccho or after you check out if you have a late flight. Cons: The check out is at 9:00 am, no other comments there, the staff at some times seems distant or even bored to work there but they accommodated any request, the toilet didn't had water and we had to ask twice to be repaired.

Not bad location for price and offers all the basics you need. Room had no outside window but was just a place to crash for the night before getting a bus back to Lima

During our recent travel to South America we stayed in more than 15 hotels (priced 50 to 130$/day). This was one of therr best hotels. Itl is very well located; 3-5 minutes of walk from Cusco downtown on a quiet room. The hotel is new, has an interesting design, it is very clean, safe and has very practical amenities. The staff is very helpfull and the breakfast was excellent.

good location. rooms are clean, comfortable, and cozy. worth for the proce. breakfast is good. The male staff was really friendly. they have the worst recommedations for local tours. For instance, our city tour guide didn´t speak good english. they arranged our taxi form the hotel to the train station for s80 (s40 for taking us to the station, s40 for the taxi driver to come back), but the next door hotel only asked for s 25. The prices for other tours they arranged usually were 2 or 3 times higher than other agents asked. Except the 1st city tour, we used other agents to arrange the rest of our tours.

The hotel was ideally situated in the historic center of Cuzco, close to Incan landmarks, souvenir shopping, and masseuses plying their trade on the Plaza de Armas. The free breakfast was varied each morning and water for coca tea was always available in the lobby. A fountain in the courtyard bubbled soothingly. The bedding was comfortable and each morning the muchacha would arrange towels at foot of bed in imaginative shapes like an elephant, swan, etc. Free shuttle to/from airport was also a big plus. Like other hotels in town, it took five minutes (or more) for water to warm up, a BIG problemo considering that Peru is running out of water. Also, it was unnerving to be awakened by doors slamming, stuff rattling around at 4:30 in the morning. Hence, earplugs.

The staff are very helpful especially Cynthia and Beatrice-they speak english and are very approachable. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood except for Friday and Saturday night(night club down the road) but no dogs barking etc Walking distance to the main square. Our room was very small. We had a triple so 3 beds all singles and there was not a lot of room for our luggage. The shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor as only has a curtain. The breakfast was probably our least favourite of all our hotel stays in Peru. Limited choices although there were 2 hot choices that changed daily but no eggs at all, only 2 choices of juice and luncheon meat not ham on offer only.We did not eat very much here.

The staff was extremely friendly and very efficient. We were greeted with a cup of tea on arrival. Breakfast was excellent and extensive. The location was just around a corner from the old city of Cuzco so a short walk brought us to the main plaza.

Very friendly and helpful staff, willing to go out of their way to assist. Great breakfast included. Rooms very very clean and well-kept. Location is very central to the historic district of Cusco. Neigbourhood is quiet with laundry and some basic shopping needs close by.

Antawasi was a great find because it provided nice hotel accommodations at a budget-friendly price, most likely because it is about 800 meters away (only a 10 min. Walk) from the main plaza area where all the other tourists stay. We enjoyed the quieter location 1 block behind Avenida El Sol, and one of the main Cusco attractions, Coricancha (Temple of the Sun). The surrounding less-touristy restaurant options were also attractive to us, as we wanted to experience more authentic food and on a budget. The English speaking staff was very professional, courteous, and prompt with email correspondence. There is an airport pick-up service, laundry service, restaurant, wifi throughout the hotel, and hot showers with excellent water pressure. Just when we thought we couldn't take another bread, jam, coffee breakfast again, one of the most welcoming amenities after traveling around South America for 2 months was the excellent buffet breakfast. Variety of hot foods (eggs, pancakes, French toast, potatoes), bread/pastries, cereal bar, juices, yogurt, fruit salad, coffee, and tea. Our room was comfortable, clean, had decent wifi signal, and cable tv in English. Definitely a bargain for what you get. The only problem, if any, was the lack of a heater. In July, Cusco dips to almost freezing at night. Without a heater, we bundled up in some warm clothes to sleep at night. The week before, we stayed at a different hostel in Cusco, which also didn't have a heater, but the down comforter kept us warm at night, so perhaps Antawasi could invest in some down comforters!

The staff is incredible. They picked us up at the airport, no charge. Had hot coca tea ready for us at the hotel, and had out room ready in minutes. They recommended a restaurant, called us cabs that were cheaper than what we found on the street, and asked us about our trip every step of the way. Great breakfast with at least 2 hot dishes and cereal, fruit, etc. every day. They also offer laundry services, but there is a place across the street that did a huge pile of laundry for us in 4 hours for 30 soles. Its a bit out of the way. The hotel is on a very narrow street (will barely fit a taxi) and its about 5 or 6 blocks to the Plaza de Armas - most of it uphill. Normally not a big deal, but in Cuzco, its a lung burner. However, a cab was 5 soles, so not a huge deal.

Very clean and nice room, and beautiful courtyard. The staff made a delicious chicken soup from scratch for us after we arrived starving from the journey. A quiet retreat from the busy city and a close walk to the Plaza de Armas.

The view of the inner courtyard of the hotel was pretty. The shower worked well and the choice of a hot buffet breakfast was varied each day. Some of the staff were very friendly. Chose this hotel because of others' reviews. However, found the bed too hard and the blankets too heavy - did not sleep well. Also there was no heating in our room. Hotel situated quite a long walk from the city centre and it was heavy going while suffering altitude sickness. Guests had 15 minutes of free internet per day - after that you had to pay for it. Huge mistake using tour guides recommended by the hotel; we nearly missed going to Machu Picchu because of their incompetence. Had to make our own private arrangements for that. Also sacrificed a night's stay at Antawasi to stay overnight in a hotel in Aguas Calientes so that we could go to Machu Picchu the following day. Antawasi Hotel owner offered us a free meal at a Cusco restaurant but this never materialised. Tour company waived cost of two tours we took, but the cost was minimal compared with cost of the lost night at Antawasi and additional accommodation cost in Aguas Calientes.

Virtually everything. Helpful staff, lovely room, kept clean, lovely shower and great breakfasts Was unable to use my Mastercard credit card to pay, even though there was no stop on my card. Had to get cash out of a machine in town, using the same card, so there is a problem with the hotel's machine

Very helpful and frienly staff; a great breakfast, a clean room and a clean and tidy hotel. There were problems with the hot water but I think that is a Cusco problem, rather than the hotel's. Single rooms don't have an outside window.
