Great location, great hot springs . A particular thanks to Juan Carlos Bannier Guerrero from booking.com for his support in our way to get to hotel
Location, facilities and staff
pillows very poor quality
All!! Hard to leave such a wonderful place!
The road To Colca Lodge - very dangerous,scarry,bumpy...a litle bit of asfalt probably will help! Such a beautiful place and so hard to arrive??!!!
Everything! A lovely tranquil hotel. Great spa and massages with good choice of treatments. Lovely hot springs by river. Very good food. Good Alpaca and Llama ranch with good accompanying explanations.
Wifi only worked in bar and not rooms.
We arrived having booked a double room for our honeymoon. on arrival in the hard to get to resort we were informed that only twins were available for us. After not being enthused about that given that we booked a double and I left a comment on the booking that it was our honeymoon the reception desk promised to get us a double room for the next day for the remainder of our stay. We were ignored for the remained of our stay. They were at their most proactive when on check out I refused to pay 10% service as I explained that I had not actually received service from them as a guest, their proactivity was to tell me that I should pay the 10% whilst completely ignoring that they had failed to rectify the issue regarding my double bed. The called the manager, who spoke to the reception staff in spanish then just bluntly said that I did not have to pay the 10% as if MY actions were an offence to him! on explaining what had occurred on checkin he cut me off to say that he knew already from the receptions staff and that I need not bother recounting any more details to him! If only he had known when I checkin I though, maybe he could have actually, you know, MANAGED the situation. Poor poor service from that stand point. would not recommend.
Location, room and hot springs really rock. Everything is in good working order, comfy beds.
Front desk staff was missing for 10 minutes when we arrived, then no apology or even directions to the room. Restaurant is OK, but has small portions and hefty prices. Stock up on snacks before you arrive.
Exotic location with picturesque view of the valley. Excellent food at restaurant. Superb facilities with hot spring, spa... even an alpaca farm of their own! Wish we could stay longer.
The access road was a little rough and hard to navigate. The road suggested by Google map was blocked by landslide. Ask for direction if you would drive by yourself.
Stayed there to acclimatize to altitude for Machu Picchu hike and also to see the condors at Cruze del Condor. Location in Colca Canyon is wonderful. Pisco Sours in the hot springs are wonderful. Great service. Great king size bed. Ruins at Uyo Uyo nearby to hike to (5 soles entry fee unless you hike across the fields).
Maps of surrounding hikes are poor., easy to get lost if you don't speak Spanish. The room had a strong smell of wood polish but no bugs in September and opening all the (unscreened) windows helped. Wifi was only in the bar and very slow.
1. The location of the hotel is amazing 2. The natural hot baths 3. The comfort in the rooms
Excellent quality and service. Great expectations will be achieved!
One of the most expensive nights in our route, but the hot springs, the installations and the environment worth it.
We enjoyed staying in the colca lodge very much. How cool is it to eat bbq-ed alpaca next to a hot spring?! Staff is great and we also enjoyed eating in the restaurant.
There is no atm in yanque or chivay that worked with our european maestro or mastercard and we could not take up cash in the lodge either ( since we went hiking for 2 days afterwards this was very inconvenient)
thermal pools, restaurant prices are normal
pay for everything of spa extra; no sauna, just steam bath; double bed booked, but we got 2 single beds; bad value for money
Facilities. Spa. Restaurant.
Amazing setting Friendly helpful staff Design of resort, sympathetic to environment and interesting Fabulous views Relax in free thermal baths.
Snooty staff and very overpriced necessities - water 4 soles for a small bottle.
Location, location, location
Quiet surroundings, location, good food and service.
Staff were a little noisy in the early mornings when people were checking out of the hotel to go on very early tours.
Relaxing hide away...had delicious dinner in the restaurant, too.
Breakfast was fair for the quality of hotel
Onsite private thermal baths; spacious rooms; beautiful views from hotel; beautiful eco designed grounds.
Meals at hotel were expensive (if want local taste and cheaper meals eat at one of the nearby towns); Wifi only in lobby; gravel road is a bumpy, roller coaster ride if you are driving; hotel tax/fee not included in booking.com rate; no TVs in the room (fine with me but not younger ones).
The spa was wonderful and it was a very beautiful location.
The road to the property.
The hot springs and the animals on the site. The rooms were also very comfortable
There could have a bit more international choices on the menu. As you cannot go out of the hotel easily, hotel restaurant is important
Fab setting and good resto, nice walks in the surroundings
Even with all its qualities, the place is overpriced in any Peruvian comparison.
Wonderfully maintained grounds with fantastic hikes in the surrounding hills. Would definitely stay here again if I was in the Colca Canyon.
Hot water thermal baths, location is beautiful
The location is amazing, the hot springs are to die for. We had a fantastic jacuzzi and couples massage at the spa. Barbecue by the pool was very tasty. Restaurant food was good most of the time. Very peaceful place which is great to chill out.
The restaurant staff were nice people but poorly trained. Drinks would take forever to turn up. Their juices are watered down terribly. Food and drink in general were overpriced. Water was charged 5 times more than anywhere else - and there was nowhere else to purchase water. Food was hit and miss. Clearly some things are microwaved as we ordered a side dish of ratatouille that was served ice cold. When told they took it away to reheat it and returned it to the table 30 mins later, after we had pretty much finished our meal. The spa menu details the length of time for a treatment that is misleading. The actual treatment time is in fact a lot shorter. The time frame includes your changing into a robe, the consultation, and getting dressed afterwards. The bedroom itself was large and quite clean. They were very cold in the evenings and there was a small heater to help things along. They did not replace the complimentary water in the room daily, so we had to purchase water to brush our teeth with. This hotel was the most expensive of our travels in Peru. It was probably magnificent in its heyday but needs work to justify the costs.
