Score from 437 reviews Very good
Set in a charming house with a garden and a terrace overlooking the city, Tikawasi offers heated rooms with cable TV, and breakfast, only 200 metres from San Blas Main Square.
Score from 444 reviews Excellent
Ideally located 600 metres from the main square, Campanario Hostal offers accommodations in Cusco. Free Wi-Fi access is available and guests are served a complimentary daily breakfast.
Score from 5 reviews Good
In a refurbished colonial style building, Hostal Inti Wasi offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and private French balconies, only 30 ft from the Plaza de Armas. Wanchaq Train Station is one mile away.
Score from 513 reviews Very good
Close to the square or Plaza with Scotiabank, McDonalds, KFC and more. Good breakfast with eggs. Good price and facility although very old, it is fixed up nice. Very accommodating staff. Coca Tea is available 24 hours. Heat in the rooms.
The long hike up to the Hostal from the Plaza is insane exercise. Building and lobby is always cold.
Hotel is located in an old hacienda, which makes it a very nice experience. The view from the hotel is magnificent and the breakfast is amazing. Staff is really helpful. Wifi works perfectly everywhere.
There was a man at the counter one night who was so very nice. I had asked for vegetarian restaurant recommendations, and he pulled out a map and gave me the inside scoop on several, directions, etc. It was above and beyond. He's apparently a fan of vegetarian cuisine. :-)
The WiFi was really spotty. That was frustrating.
Location, views, staff, comfy bed.
Cleanliness and breakfast. Nice views from the lobby. Staff was very nice.
Location is bit higher than comfort level, but ok.
The hotel was cheap, clean, and meets the needs of travel, and the mattress was actually really comfortable. The location is great, but on a hill, and upon arriving in Cusco, my husband had altitude sickness, so it was hard to climb up the street to the hotel every day. Free breakfast was also nice: fruits, cereal, bread, tea/coffee, juice, and eggs.
Paper thin walls, we could hear our rowdy university-age neighbours chatting and joking around all night, which wasn't good when we had to get up early. Also the wifi isn't strong in the rooms.
Very clean and comfortable safe area. Lovely breakfast with nice fresh food including eggs of your choice. Would definitely recommend staying here. It is a steep hill to walk up to it from the square so if you have trouble with hills would warn you of this.
Good hospitality and clean, well located hostel.
Friendly and helpful staff. Views!! Comfortable bed.
Wifi didn't work very well in the bedroom.
This is located just 5 mins from the main city square but yet quiet and relaxing. Great city views. Ok breakfast.
We asked at the reception for tour information and the travel agency they sent us to had higher prices than similar tours from other operators. Shop around for sacred valley tours, etc.
Excellent view, excellent location, excellent breakfast
Not all rooms are the same (but for the same price)
Friendly, helpful staff. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable: stored our bags twice, helped us to find our travel agent when we arrived, picked us up from the airport and called us taxis. We stayed with this hotel four days: two when we arrived in Cusco and two before we left. The two different rooms we stayed in were clean, safe and quiet with hot, full pressure showers and nice views of the city.Wi-Fi worked the best of any place we stayed in South America, plus there was some English TV. Breakfast was excellent: fresh fruit and juice, cereals, milk, yogurt, bread, cheese, ham, eggs, olives, great coffee--very nice cooks and helpers.
We can't think of anything we didn't like. It was a wonderful place to rest.
Excellent view to Cuzco from the breakfast room! Nice really authentic atmosphere!
Raul the guy who helped with our bags and cooked our breakfast is the most polite and kind person we met in Peru. The complex was very picturesque with great view and they let us stay for many hours (until the time our bus left) in their comportable living room serving us tea, with a tv and wifi.
Beautiful rooms and views, comfortable bed, hot water with good pressure and spacious showers, excellent breakfasts, quiet, safe, clean, accommodating staff, WiFi and TV good
Can't think of anything. This was the best place we stayed of 4 hotels in three weeks.
Great view of Cusco from room and dinning area. Ask for a room with a view. The staff was accommodating. Loved the heater in the room. Breakfast was good as well.
A small hike up the hill to hostel, but everywhere in Cusco is a elevated hike.
location is close to everything, dinning room has a good view to see the old town, worth the money
Awesome view with antiques everywhere. Very central location with great breakfast.
It is steep to walk back from the Plaza de Armas, but that is Cusco for you get used to it.
Friendly staff, good location for Plaza de Armas and Sacsayhuáman. Cosy living room and great views.
Bit of an uphill walk from the centre and difficult for taxis to reach hotel.
Antonio and Livia were fantastic. They both went above and beyond normal levels if service to make feel comfortable and secure. The hotel is close to everything and their knowledge of Puno was excellent.
The views are amazing. We wanted a late check-out which was not possible due to the high number of guests arriving but we still had the feeling the staff did all they could to accomodate our request.
No real negative points. It's true it's a bit of a walk up from Plaza de Armas but if you can't handle that, I think you shouldn't come to Cuzco in the first place.
Clean, nice, quiet at night, good rest.
The walking distance from the main plaza is quite long if you arrive for the first time at night.
Hotel is situated close to the city center and Sacsayuaman.
The breakfast was very poor.
2 blocks from main plaza. Cute rooms. Staff friendly. Good view of the city. A lot of police and security roaming the area. It great when it rained. I liked the windows when it rained and the occasional dog barking. Ten minute down hill walk to restaurants, tours, churches. Many travel agencies to arrange tours (shop around). Fifteen minutes to San Pedro shopping area. If you are adventurous there is plenty of market type shopping just past San Pedro market. If you like KFC and McDonalds its right there ( to me it was disappointing).Numerous dining options. Very safe area. They can arrange laundry service ( S/8.00 per kilo, will be pressed and stuffed into a small bag- was impressed. Later I found the area outside San Blas where they do laundry for cheap), Still cheap to have it shipped out. Many small markets at the bottom of the hill to hold you over for the night.
2 blocks up hill from plaza. Takes a while for hot water. Room heater (doesn't work well with an A-frame room with high ceilings). Staff spoke a little English (fine with me). There are 3 discos with 1.5 blocks (loud when you walked by but never heard them in the room). Breakfast was always the same. Steps to rooms can be slippery when raining. Laundry can be done at he bottom of hill for 1/3 the price (but it will be stuffed into a bag when done).
Nice old building with view of city
Power points were quite dodgy. Very basic facilities Top of steep road from main square. Big effort to walk back after a couple of drinks
