Set in a charming house with a garden and a terrace overlooking the city, Tikawasi offers heated rooms with cable TV, and breakfast, only 200 metres from San Blas Main Square.
Score from 397 reviews Excellent
Only 10 metres from the Plaza de Armas, Loreto Boutique Hotel offers rooms with plasma TVs, in a refurbished building originally built during Inca times. The Bus Terminal is 1.3 km away.

2 blocks from main plaza. Cute rooms. Staff friendly. Good view of the city. A lot of police and security roaming the area. It great when it rained. I liked the windows when it rained and the occasional dog barking. Ten minute down hill walk to restaurants, tours, churches. Many travel agencies to arrange tours (shop around). Fifteen minutes to San Pedro shopping area. If you are adventurous there is plenty of market type shopping just past San Pedro market. If you like KFC and McDonalds its right there ( to me it was disappointing).Numerous dining options. Very safe area. They can arrange laundry service ( S/8.00 per kilo, will be pressed and stuffed into a small bag- was impressed. Later I found the area outside San Blas where they do laundry for cheap), Still cheap to have it shipped out. Many small markets at the bottom of the hill to hold you over for the night.
2 blocks up hill from plaza. Takes a while for hot water. Room heater (doesn't work well with an A-frame room with high ceilings). Staff spoke a little English (fine with me). There are 3 discos with 1.5 blocks (loud when you walked by but never heard them in the room). Breakfast was always the same. Steps to rooms can be slippery when raining. Laundry can be done at he bottom of hill for 1/3 the price (but it will be stuffed into a bag when done).
Nice old building with view of city
Power points were quite dodgy. Very basic facilities Top of steep road from main square. Big effort to walk back after a couple of drinks
Great breakfast, with views across Cusco; hot shower; comfortable bed; not far from Plaza de Armas.
Rooms are basic but fine. Wifi doesn't reach far. The street felt a little less safe than elsewhere in Cusco, but nothing alarming.
The shower bath water is too little and not hot enought
The service was excellent! The staff was knowledgable about the area and were very helpful with extras (like laundry service). The location is excellent (right off the Plaza de Armas) and the view from the hotel is phenomenal, day or night. Very quiet and the rooms were warm.
The room we chose was supposed to have a view of the city but we were put in a basement room instead. The upside was that our room was very warm and extra big. Internet was quite slow, unfortunately.
Wonderful location up from the main square with panoramic views Charming old building on many levels Staff were very helpful
Some noise at night even into the early hours form local streets It's quite a climb up the hill at the altitude
The staff is excellent and extremely helpfull! Location is perfect just a few meters from main square Plaza de Armas. The hotel is very nice with beautiful view, nice style (like a challet) and comfortable rooms. I would definitely go back!

you must specify a specific room as some are amazing while others are small without windows. great views from hotel but must climb hill to get to said views ; ) wifi is spotty but overall hotel has a lot of charm.
The view. Breakfast. Location. Staff was nice. Hot water and warm room.
The climbing to get to the hotel. Bathroom could be better.
The views from this hostel are amaizing. Breakfast is good and tea available through the day which is a bonus.
Rooms are old but comfortable. Up a massive hill-be prepared!
Close to the Plaza de Armas, just a short hike up the hill. Great view. Great service and breakfast
The staff were great, breakfast was good
Didn't sleep well some nights because ceilings/floorboards creak and some guests enjoy pacing their rooms at 1 AM. Wifi was not stable at first but improved later in the week.
Wifi was poor and took a long time for them to newer the door when we arrived
The booking.com website does not say it is a HOSTEL. It shows up as a hotel. I had to look for a new hotel there as I did not plan on staying in a hostel. For a hostel, it seems nice. However, the rooms lack good lighting, views, and the towels seemed pretty worn. It's not pleasant to enjoy your time if you are planning a vacation. However, if you just need to a place to stay - it may work for you. Btw, the double room I reserved there was only $10 cheaper compared to a nice hotel I stayed it after!!!
Good location. Nice size room and bathroom. Good breakfast, especially for Peruvian standards. Friendly people, decent English spoken at counter. Lovely views over the city from the breakfast lounge. Very good bathroom with hot water throughout the day. Looks nice on the in- and outside!
Hotel is located high up the hill. Be prepared to walk a lot and feel exhausted :) Our room had no view whatsoever and was located next to another street (noisy). Lots of stairs.
Great location in cuzco. Friendly staff and very helpful.
Location Staff and their helpfulness for tours Quietness of the hostel
friendly staff, wifi
1)in our 2nd room, the showerhead was very defective. Only a tiny water stream was flowing. 2)matress is hard (but that's every hotel in Peru) I don't think it's worth 60 USD
- the views from the room over the roofs of Cusco were beautiful. - They offer free mate de coca at any time, very helpful for the hight sickness related to Cusco - The building seemed to be a reformed traditional house, with stairs ups and down to get to your room. Pinturesque. - Friendly staff - They kindly stored our luggages during our trip out of the city for a whole day and night at no extra cost - Comfortable bed - Beams at sight in the room ceiling, old style. -LOCATION: Close to the historic city center -Plaza de armas-, up a hill, but every place in Cusco is up to some hill
- Dated facilities, a bit old furniture. - Mold in the bathroom ceiling - Basic hygienic supplies: a piece of soap. - Weak WIFI signal, not working inside the room. There was a stronger WIFI signal broadcasted, but they did not provide the right password to connect even after two phone calls to reception. Probably the router was reset any time before and the password returned to be the original one of the router manufacturer, which of course was not the one that was written in the room's directory document. At the end of the day, we could not connect.
We stayed here twice as it sandwiched our trip up to Machu Picchu/Aguas Calientes. Our second room - Room 14 - was super nice. It had a large, recently re-modelled bathroom that was very spacious and clean, with ample counter space. The room itself felt very cozy with comfortable beds. The common area/breakfast room has a fantastic view of Cuzco and its surrounding hills/mountains. There is complimentary coca tea available at all times. The staff are VERY nice and speak excellent English who were amazing at helping us carry luggage up/down the stairs to our room! The hotel is lots of great views even walking up/down the stairs leading to the rooms. Only warning is that you will sometimes feel a bit winded going up the stairs esp if you are not yet used to the altitude of Cuzco. The hotel itself is a bit of an uphill walk from the main square - around 7-8min so not too far away. It's very convenient to get to but up a quiet street so the noise doesn't intrude on the hotel.
Our first room - Room 17 - was not a big hit. It is the family room (fits 4) which, although spacious, has limited natural light. The bathroom is small and reminded me of my college dorm bathroom with no ventilation or fan.
Room was big but a bit noisy The shower need to be cleaned... Only 3 or 4 holes is working... Breakfast is basic
The location: no cars or buses go up there to collect you, ever... The room was smelly...
Very good cook for breakfast. Simple breakfast, but made well. Comfy room and nice staff.
The hill climb back from town felt steep after Machu Picchu hiking, but I'm from Florida and the altitude really gets me.
Perfect service at taxi assuring Rich breakfast served since 6 a.m. , cold buffet, and hot eatings,
The guy on the desk was fantastic. He had great tips from local second hand markets to good massages. Jthe I do was great
It's a long walk up the hill home!
