The location was great

The matresses in the room along with the pillows must have been bought in the 1950´S...very poor.

Every thing to much many for nothing big noise you can not sleep atall front desk very bad thay didn't wake me up room is so poar and old

The staff we so helpful and loved my stay there just based on this reason alone!

The location was perfect to be in main town ....but come at a price!! Noise, from the traffic and the cars below on the main street as the windows are old and not much of a sound proof! Also they rattel but I found if you wedge a bit of paper in, it does the Job. The Hotel rooms are old but that is the all part of the charm.

This grand old dame has a wonderful history. On one of our stays we had the suite in which Ernest Hemingway had stayed. And it is rumored that there are ghosts roaming the same hallways where Mic Jagger ran naked (and got evicted from the hotel). Although it's past its prime, and some parts are no longer used (the myterious second floor), this hotel has great charm. The suites have a great view of a large plaza.

Don't stay here if you prefer new, modern hotels

This was once the Grand Dame of Lima. Now it is down on the heal, I was first put in a room next to the noisy street. The bedspread was shredded and thin, the room was cold. I was moved to a room which was more like a suite and very cold so the staff had to bring a space heater. The shower head needs to be changed and the shower cold water handlet fell off. There were some small electric wires sticking out of one bathroom wall. The entire hotel needs a rennovation.

The atmosphere of being in another era glamourous & appealing to the imagination. It is stylish and offers excellent service for the rates.

Upgraded to jr suite, was much nicer than just single room, and not on the street. Breakfast staff , fast but not that courteous. F

Street noise was excessive all night long on first stay. Bkfst staff and little too uppity. Front desk needs someone who speaks another language other than spanish. Signle room on street very diappointing, not clean, no heat, loud, almost did not stay even though we had just arrived after flying all day to get to LIma.

My flight from USA to Cusco, Peru involved a stopover in Lima at 10:30 pm so I needed to stay overnight in Lima. Gran Bolivar sounded like a good value and I liked the description of the old world charm. I did think it was closer to the airport based on the description but the extra 15 minutes in the cab was fine. The hotel staff was very helpful and the cab driver that you referred to transfer me from the airport to the hotel was wonderful. My room was clean and a full breakfast was included.

Very profesionals all staff congratulations. This Hotal was confortable. Best Rgds

I living for here to Mexico

Not recommended, rather dark atmosphere, old, not well kept, damp, overpriced, the blinds did not close properly, the water clozet did not work: not worth the price and the location. Will not go back.

Personally I loved this retro look. So full of history, it must have been so grand in its old days. The entrance and the corridors are so beautiful but if you like modern don't bother! My room had a fantastic view of the square + the room was actually a little appartment with a separate lounge area.Very spacious. Bed was comfortable . The breakfast was so yummy! Tasty fresh orange juice and lovely eggs.

The room facing the square are a bit noisy but with earplugs I slept like a baby
