Nice location. Good price.
Local telephone costs a lot. No egg for breakfast.
We were really impressed with everything from the moment we arrived to the airport. The staff was very accommodating and the location was superb. We both had a great nights sleep.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Very convenient location- extremely helpful, smiley and friendly staff always happy to help us!!!
Location, friendly staff
Too many steps
People at the reception were extremely helpful, always eager to support us, giving us information and even helping us with our planned trip to Machu Picchu! Very polite and smiley - rare these days especially for such a low priced place!
Smell in the room
Very good hostal 10 meters from the Plaza de Armas. Wonderful choice!
Great location. Great staff. Great views from certain windows. Warm showers and rooms. Below average prices.
I've traveled to Peru four times and this Hostal not only has hot water at turn of the knob, but plenty of pressure too. Bed was fabulously comfy, breakfast was above average, and staff was accommodating. Location next to Cathedral, Plaza de Armas couldn't be beat.
Outside my door was a WiFi-lounge area with superb views of colonial Cusco. My room had a view of scenic mountainside...and ramshackle shack with corrugated roof. Coffee was a mix your own - beaker of black liquid that one adds to water/milk (local style)
Great location right next to the Plaza, strong wifi that reached my room, decent breakfast, friendly staff, hot shower, coca tea offered on arrival and available at all times
My room was right near reception so I got woken up at about 5am every morning by it, my bed was really hard, the entrance is hidden by an art store
Staff was very friendliy and helpful. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Room was clean and spacy. Thank you for a nice stay.
Althought we ask for a quiet room when we make the reservation, the room in the first night was very loud, couldn´t sleep the whole night. But the next day we could change the room and this one was very quiet.
Definitely best location for everything in Cuzco. Staff was not very formal but was indeed showing his/her interest in helping the guests, i.e., friendly and warm services.
Steps toward the reception and upper floors.
The location was excellent close to Plaza de Armas within 2 minutes of walking. The staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfast was average. They provided sufficient bedding for the cold night in Aug when we were there.
The only issue we had was the room had a weird smell. It was bearable but when you first opened the door to the room, there you smelled it pretty bad. Was not sure where it came from.
The receptionist (Jim?) was absolutely brilliant. So helpful, opened breakfast early and arranged cheap taxis Location
It was so difficult to find. The road name is different and the name sign is above head height so you can't see it (we arrived at night)
Great location right next to the main Plaza del arms, near restaurants and shops. Rooms were clean and wifi was good.
The first time we stayed there we were in a room that had a massive skylight that let so much light in first thing in the morning, second room was great though. Also we ran into 2 staff members that made us feel like we were asking a lot. .. If you don't want us to pay by card. ... Don't advertise that you except card everywhere! Otherwise most staff were lovely.
Location is at the back of the Cathedral, Plaza der Armaz, close to a lot of city tourist attractions and restaurants.
The hotel staff has minimal knowledge of tour options in the city. Keep offering one day Sacred Valley Tour and Half Day City Tour, promoting that the City Tour is only 32 Soles, although can not explain the itineraries nor show any brochures or tour write up. Before tour pick-up, was informed that the price exclude Cathedral entrance ticket of 25 Soles and Monastry entrance of 10 Soles. When the tour arrived at the ruins, was informed that need another ticket of 70 Soles. Other tour participants all joined the tour with full entrance tickets provided by respective hotels.
The main square is just about a half a block away, the staff is enormously helpful. Coca tea available non-stop.
Lots of steps. Not a problem for me, but could be a problem for other people.
Perfect location! Right in the heart of many markets and restaurants!
Breakfast was supposed to run until 9:30 am, but is more of a first come first serve basis. By 9:00 am one morning they had run out of food and did not replenish anything. Still great value for the cost even without breakfast though!
The shower. Shower head was big and water temperature easy to control.
We asked one of the staff to call taxi in 15minutes but this didn't get done due to miscommunication between their staff. We still made it to he airport okay though since cabs can be called in 5minites.
Wonderful location, closeto the Plaza de Armas. Beatiful place to stay.
Location - moments away from the main square. The room was a reasonable size, and the bed had a new and comfortable mattress and pillows. The shower was the hottest and strongest I encountered anywhere in Peru, including a 5* hotel in Lima! Though I had the bedroom at the front (which others have mentioned) there was no loud music, and traffic and other sounds were mostly kept out by the modern double-glazed window.
The hotel could not really be described as 'attractive' in any way. It is relatively newly painted, but even so there is peeling plaster in places, and the paintwork is badly done. This - plus general wear and tear - give the place a shabby look, and apart from the new mattress, all the furniture is dated and cheap. Even though they had said I could pay by Visa, the night before my (early) departure, the visa pay card system wasn't working. I offered to pay in Euros, but they only take Soles or Dollars. Fortunately their machine worked the next morning. Also the taxi they had booked (and which I'd paid for) the night before, to take me to the airport was 15 minutes late, and they were not very helpful about chasing them up, saying 'it is on its way, it will be here in 10 minutes and so on. It meant that I only JUST made my flight. If I were doing this again, I would NOT pay them the night before, as several other taxis stopped and I could have gone with any of them. Be aware that the hotel is on the street that USED to be called Triunfo, but is now Sunturwasi, which is a bit confusing for cab drivers. The entrance is between two shops called Andean Treasures and La Nusta. To access the hotel, go through the door between these shops, past the colourful paintings and up the stairway to the left.
Staff very helpful. Breakfast fine ('tho no hot dishes). Room at back was amazingly quiet, even during the Corpus Christi celebrations. Great location.
The entrance is hidden
Beds were really comfortable. Staff were lovely and helpful.
Room was really cold, no heater. Right behind Plaza de Armas, so was really noises.
Staff were extremely helpful. They offered many tips on the area and were very pleasant to deal with. Our airport pick-ups and drop offs were seamless with no issues to note.
The Wi-Fi was at times spotty, however we would just go to the lobby when we needed consistent access. It was not a significant issue for us.
