*Great breakfast *No noise * Accommodation central * Staff friendly and helpful * Everything in the room and bathroom of a high standard * Hostal very central
All staff should be able to speak English
Staff was good... Very helpful Location is good Breakfast was good
Unbeatable location, friendly and useful staff
Breakfast was below average
Triunfo offers a great location, comfy beds, good wifi, decent breakfast, and helpful staff.
My only complaint is the bathrooms: I'm very sensitive to mold and our private bathroom did not have enough ventilation, thus it bothered my nose and lungs. The women's shared bathroom had a camera: not sure why, but that was worrisome.
-super close to la plaza de armas -friendly staff -great internet -clean, spacious, and comfortable rooms
-check out is a little early
Considering value for money, the only good thing is that the hotel is very well located, close to the Plaza de Armas.
We were supposed to be picked up at the train station in the evening (coming back from Machu Picchu) by someone from the hotel. However, noone appeared, and after waiting and after contacting the hotel they were unable to provide the service. Later on they didn't even care and didn't excuse for the situation. Our room was just next to the communal kitchen, which is disturbing due to the noise of other guests in the morning if you want to sleep a bit longer then sunrise. Additionally, the room was cold, especially at night (mid-October).
The staff at this clean, conveniently located, modest hostal was professional, courteous, friendly and very helpful. I stayed before and after my visit to Machu Picchu and was quite satisfied.
The first room I had, while very satisfactory, was unfortunately, located so that the music from discos down the street was audible and rather loud. I would still recommend the Triunfo as a good value. Earplugs, a good idea, just in case!
The location of this hotel .
Nothing bad to say
The staff trying to charge us for an extra room. When we checked in we were given 1 key for a room with 4 beds. However we booked 2 doubles. When we checked out they tried to charge us for the "other room" that we were not given on arrival. We agreed to pay for the 4 bed we were given but they wanted paying for an empty room that we weren't. Was pretty cheeky. But she didn't charge us after we held out ground.
Very happy friendly staff team . Enjoys tourists. Extremely clean, comfortable and spacious rooms with good shower. Wifi ok and free internet computer available. Plenty hot water. Bright breakfast room with stunning views of Cathedral. Location seconds away from main square and restaurants. Hot water. Comfortable bed. Would definately return
Just off the plaza. Very convenient, clean, quiet and comfortable, Nothing fancy, but a solid value. Basic breakfast included.
Very helpfull staff, excellent location very close to the center of Cusco. Forgot a camera charger on check out, but the stuff kept it and we picked it up a couple of days later when passing through Cusco again.
WIFI was out for one of the two days we stayed. We booked a double room but were given one with four beds, which was a uncomfortable. The hotel booked a taxi for us to go the airport. The service was too expensive for a very old, dirty taxi.
Nice location. Good price.
Local telephone costs a lot. No egg for breakfast.
Location, location, location...El Triunfo is located in the heart of Cusco, walking distance to everything you want to see, lovely and very safe street. It provides a very good quality of accommodation for the modest money. Friendly and helpful staff (they borrow us hairdryer, allowed to print boarding passes, organized transfer to Poroy for the train to Machu Picchu...). Very nice and clean bedding and towels, decent breakfast. Do not look for better place especially if you travel on modest budget. We will go back to same place if we decide to go back to Cusco.
It's noisy in the morning, and the WiFi signal is weak in the room.
Great view from the room.
There was no heating in the room. At night time the temperature was quite low. The breakfast was rather poor. We had asked for a double bed and at our arrival we were told that the particular offer was only for a room with two separate beds.
location, no noise, breakfast
We were really impressed with everything from the moment we arrived to the airport. The staff was very accommodating and the location was superb. We both had a great nights sleep.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Very convenient location- extremely helpful, smiley and friendly staff always happy to help us!!!
Location, friendly staff
Too many steps
People at the reception were extremely helpful, always eager to support us, giving us information and even helping us with our planned trip to Machu Picchu! Very polite and smiley - rare these days especially for such a low priced place!
Smell in the room
Very good hostal 10 meters from the Plaza de Armas. Wonderful choice!
Location and staff is friendly
After staying 2 nights in this hotel, I then booked 2 nights in a different hotel (Hospedaje Arcangel) to get to after my trip to Machu Picchu. This way i was able to compare. El triunfo is more expensive and you get very poor quality for money. Poor breakfast and tiny and basic room. Wi-fi really bad in the room! Go to Arcangel in Calle Choquechaca (only 5 minutes walk from El Triunfo, hence very central!). Rooms are amazing! Better value for money!
Great location. Great staff. Great views from certain windows. Warm showers and rooms. Below average prices.
I've traveled to Peru four times and this Hostal not only has hot water at turn of the knob, but plenty of pressure too. Bed was fabulously comfy, breakfast was above average, and staff was accommodating. Location next to Cathedral, Plaza de Armas couldn't be beat.
Outside my door was a WiFi-lounge area with superb views of colonial Cusco. My room had a view of scenic mountainside...and ramshackle shack with corrugated roof. Coffee was a mix your own - beaker of black liquid that one adds to water/milk (local style)
