It is worth going to the lake in Puno since it is the highest navigable lake in the world and is also unique because of the islands made of reed. It was interesting seeing the lifestyles of the people living on these lakes. The food served as part of the tour was good, but getting to the restaurant was challenging since the climb up to the restaurant was quite steep. The overall experience was very good.

Access to Lake Titicaca, Uros, Amantani & Taquile islands.
Access to Lake Titicaca, Uros, Amantani & Taquile islands. The city itself is not very interesting, nice main square with a cathedral and few goods restaurants (Mojsa at the bottom of the Main square was really excellent, full of international travelers...). Did not have much time to climb on the nearby hills to have a panoramic view of the Puno & Titicaca. Spent two-day / one-night trip to Uros / Amantani / Taquile islands (overnight at Amantani with a local family), very interesting and very down-to-earth, but we all enjoyed the boat trip, Uros, dancing in local costumes & sunset from the top of Amantani (made it with our 8-year old daughter), as well as the next day at Taquile island. The following night we spent at Uros with Felix (Uros Amaru Marka Lodge) was excellent !

We wanted to come for the cultural experiences of the uro peoples but we saw a people who are abusing tourism to live. We were overcharged at every occurrence from transportation, housing, souvenirs, food etc. It left a bad taste in our mouths. We wish we would have spent time in other places in Peru.

Keep in mind that Puno, the town itself, is small.
Keep in mind that Puno, the town itself, is small. They don't have the artensans or activities that other large towns like Cuzco may have, so if you don't care to visit the floating islands of Uros, you may not want to make the trip.

It was twixt Xmas & new Year. Even so the place was buzzing.
It was twixt Xmas & new Year. Even so the place was buzzing. Markets galore and very well priced. Food was vaery nice in the restuarants.
Dont forget your ina toursit trap and it becomes more apparent as and if you go to the Uros islands. You will not be allowed tp leave until they have rinsed you of every penny they can get out of you -with minimal effort.
There is so much potential to do a lot more but I think the islanders have become lazy and just want to sell you trinkets which in all honesty are mass produced. The guide said they get most if not all oof their income from tourists. I can understand that, but at least make it entertaining rather than a tired old roadshow where they roll out the same thing time after time.
There is a nice promenade along the front with lots of wildlife.
Hope you enjoy.
Happy trails

I was really looking forward to seeing lake titicaca and the floating island and I was really disappointed. It doesn’t feel very authentic and is one big tourist trap where you are pressured into buying things. It’s a shame as people go to see a different way of life but that way of life is now very much about getting as much money from tourists as possible and making you feel pressured and uncomfortable until you do. I spent one day here and that felt like too much, maybe it’s different if you stay overnight on the island but I have my doubts.
Balcony over lake was nice, but small -- only one chair. This was our primary reason for choosing this hotel. All similar options in the area (GHL, Sonesta) did not have private outdoor space viewing the lake.
Bartender was great - tasty and unique pisco sours
Comfy beds, good housekeeping services
Fireplaces for dinner and at bar were cozy (and needed, the main areas of the hotel were freezing)
Restaurant staff was friendly and accommodating
this hotel is best memories in our honeymoon trip in Peru. Eber and his whole family super kind , the hotel room view is fantastic very beautiful. and the is best delicious food in our Peru trip. the price super value. Eber also teaching my husband how to do fishing😍
we definitely will come back spend peaceful holiday for sure.
the view really so beautiful like heaven. must try this hotel at least stay in 3 days. full of good memories.
What an unusual hotel, which was perfect for me. As always, the staff were so helpful, and the breakfast delicious. There are unusual decorations, and it feels really like “old Peru” to stay there. I would definitely return.
I hope the very helpful teenager is enjoying my Jacket I left behind deliberately! And gratefully.
Lovely wake-up knock, and delicious breakfast.
Good hotel to stay a couple of nights in Puno.
Cheap price for the quality and quietness.
Close to the main streets and to Plaza de Armas. The hotel was good, breakfast too. The check-in was easy to do and since we stayed 1 night on the nearby Islands, they have gladly saved our bags for free during 1 day and a half, until our return.
Really recommended hotel.
We were only staying in Puno for one night before we transferred to Copacabana and this was the perfect place to stay. It’s a bit dated, but probably the nicest hotel in the city center. Staff were very helpful, room was clean and comfortable with a great view overlooking the square, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve seen in South America!
A simple and clean place to stay in a great location, but where this hotel really excelled was customer service. All the staff were so lovely especially Wilter. They even allowed me an early check in at no extra charge after arriving on an overnight bus. The showers were the hottest I've had during my time in Peru. Very good value for the price.
We loved everything, the amazing view from the balcony to the lake, the peace and the aesthics of the island. Juan and his family are amazing hosts and were very attentive, besides the food is so fresh and delicious. This was without comparison one of the best places we have stayed in Perú.
Any hotel that manages to provide crispy clean white bedding in a middle of dusty busy city deserves a 10.
Helpful staff, safe location, good size room, beautiful view to the surrounding mountains, clean, HEAT AND HOT WATER (!!!), endless tea and apples in the lobby. What's not to like?!
The staff were really friendly and helpful at all times. They also let us check in an hour or so early, as the room was ready. It was clean and nice too. The breakfast was also really good - probably the best bread I had in Peru! The WiFi was also excellent and very reliable.
The room is really comfortable. There’s heater in the room and even in the bed. The whole family of host are pretty nice, the meals are delicious! The view of titicaca lake is really amazing but peaceful. This is our best stay in Peru. Highly recommended!
Clever is a nice man. He will help you with what you need. It is good for a night or two just to see Puno and lake Titicaca. It is a semi quiet place with thin windows. It is around three blocks from the square and a half a mile from the port.
This was a comfortable, secure hotel with very good amenities. We liked the location on the edge of town and with a great view across the lake to Puno city. We also liked the old lake steamer moored in front of the hotel restaurant.
It was very close to the main square and the restaurants. The staff were helpful and friendly and could speak a little english. The breakfast was typical of Peru, bread and jam with fruits, tea/coffee, but nothing cooked.
Very nice buffet breakfast that starts early ans that is tasty compared to what we experience in 2 weeks vacations in Peru !
The rooms are not sumptuous but all you could expect from the price ! Perfect location !
Check-in/Check-out were flexible.
Size of the room; quite large
Hot water available in shower and heating available in room (not a given in Peru)
Location is great, 2 minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas
THE VERY BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, A WARM ROOM, VERY RESPECTFUL ATTENTION, HELPED ME A LOT IN MY STAY, I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO STAY IN PUNO PERU. WONDERFUL AND THANK YOU HOTEL CESAR FOR THE GOOD STAY
Nice hotel in the heart of Puno.
Big room with a nice large and comfy bed.
Breakfast was served in the room which was a bit uncomfortable but breakfast itself was good.
Clean and nice room. Great bathroom.
Great warm shower, best we had in Peru.
The bed is also pretty wide which is nice.
The staff was always friendly and helpful
