Fireplace in lobby. Friendly staff, good location, homely vibe. Heating in the room (uncommon in Cuzco at this price range), good hot water.
Close to Plaza de armas Staff was excellent Beds were amazing Included breakfast (eggs juice fruit granola yogurt bread it was delicious) Clean and comfy Cool looking place
The stairs to get to the hosteria Internet did not reach the rooms only common areas
Our room was a suite with 2 bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom. The place was Clean and the staff was very helpful when asked. Breakfast was simple yet good.
Wifi was only in the lobby, the rooms were cold at night. We only found out as we were leaving that we could of had a heater in our room for just a couple a bucks a night.
Nice comfortable beds. Room is cold so rent a heater for $3/night. Well worth it! Close to good restaurants & main square. Friendly staff and constant flow of Cocoa tea helps adjusting to altitude. Ask for rooms on 2nd floor - they are much quieter. I booked my Macchu Picchu trip through them and it was very well planned. Wifi in the lobby (& only in the lobby) is strong and fast.
Wifi is only available in the lobby. The hostel is located at the top of a long flight of stairs. This is a huge problem when you land in Cusco and are still acclimatizing to the high altitude. I consider myself to be very fit, but was struggling to climb up the stairs for the first 2 days. This is something to be considered when booking this place. Water pressure is another problem and keeps varying when you shower. I was stuck with soap in my eyes when the water shut off for a few seconds.
The hôtel picked us up at the airport for free Charming place, calm. Rooms are cleans and the staff is helpful
The hostel is very well located, nice staff, good breakfast.
Hot water is a lie, it just exist in some rooms. My moms room didn't have water at all, not even to brush her teeth. And they couldn't change her because the hotel was full. There were many people complaining that the shower was cold.
great and quiet location away from the beeping horns of cars in cusco. good breakfast coca tea on tap were kind enough to store luggage for the duration of my trek
no hot water either day i stayed there (which was a problem after 4 days trekking). They moved me to their sister hotel at 10pm (after the 4 day trek when i was exhausted) just so that i could get a shower.
The staff at this hotel is exceptional especially Jose. He went above and beyond his call of duty to make our stay as comfortable as can be. Loved the concept if the family style breakfast.
Rooms were too cold.
Breakfast was very delicious
During wintertime it is very cold in the rooms due to missing heating system. But I guess that's normal in Peru ;)
Great location for the money. Clean nice staff.
You had to climb a huge set of stairs to get to the hotel.
Location, courtyard, quiet room, warm blankets, good breakfast (coffee, eggs, yogurt parfait, bread/jam)
freezing cold room, no hot water for shower
Nice location and nice staff. Nice breakfasts
There are like 42 steps to get into the little street and with the altitude it was a bit of a challenge. The tv and the wifi were not working well. I did not like that there were only accepting cash and put a lot of constrain into my trip I asked for a single room and ended paying a double only because they did not have a single room available- the reservation process was not showing that I was booking a double at a double price. After a few days I moved to the Casa Campesina and got my single room for $30/ night instead of $42 with a good tv connection and no steps to climb and less than a block away from this place.
Jose was great. Location was excellent and great value for the money.
Granted we were there in winter, but the lack of heat on the lower floors made for some cold nights. The water completely shut off once, and the lack of lots of hot water was a problem once. But all in all, a good value for the money.
decent location, good value, cute courtyard
the wifi not working even in the common areas as promised was a deal-breaker for us. The staff was super nice about it though and looked like it couldn't be helped. Shame, because I'd have liked to stay here longer
The place was really lovely and the room was quite clean. While they lock the door at a certain hour, a staff person is always there to unlock it pleasantly.
The only problem (and it's been mentioned before) is that the room is quite cold. It's a bit like staying in a castle with stone walls. However, there were plenty of blankets.
The views with all the flowers is beautiful, very clean.
The staff didn't have the best attitude, i had already stayed at four other hostels and the staff truly helps you out and even knocked on our door to make sure everything is what you expected. No big deal just different.
Very quiet as it is off the main streets
The place is tucked away off main streets therefore it is difficult to get to while carrying suitcases & bags secondary to narrow cobblestone streets & sidewalks.
Excellent staff, very accommodating to all your needs at any time.
Beautiful hotel on a great location. The hotel has a beautiful garden. Nice big room, with a proper shower. The room was clean. In the lobby there is always a cup of coca tea for free. And there is free wifi in the lobby. The staff is friendly.
No wifi in the room. At night it is cold, and there is no heating in the room.
Good Breakfast. Beautiful gardens. Excelent and big rooms. Very good reception. We booked all the tours for the sacred valley by the hostel, and they were perfectly organized for a good price. They kept our luggages when we went to Puno and Macchu Picchu, without any problem. Everything there made us feel like at home, in the 6 nights we were there.
Once, we were sleeping and the janitor made us leave the room for cleaning it.
Our room was in a hallway before entering the actual hotel and reception. When we were looking at the hotel on the Internet, they only showed the beautiful courtyard with the surrounding rooms so this was a bit of a disappointment. The wi-fi did not work in our room. The shower was small and the courtain too short so after every time shower the entire bathroom was wet.
comfortable beds, use of bright colors, helpful staff, hot breakfast.
Rooms in this hotel and many others in this area are not heated. This can be uncomfortable in the evenings as temperature can drop to the 40s. Make sure you check.
The location was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The rooms downstairs are loud. One can hear the noise from the room above.
The staff was great and breakfast was good. Beautiful courtyard! Wished we could have enjoyed it longer. Oddly, the room only had 110v which was fine since we came from the US, but only a couple of the outlets worked. We needed medical care and a doctor arrived in 5 minutes even though it wasn't something serious. The clinic helped us every step of the way from transportation to meds, etc. It was remarkable! The hotel also arranged for an early taxi pick up which was on time and waiting.
There is no parking on the street. You must be able to walk up 63 steps UPHILL and then another couple short uphill walks before reaching the hotel. The lighting in our room #2 was very dim-almost like candlelight. So if you're on a honeymoon or want a romantic room this could be the one for you! Not sure about the lighting in the other rooms. Also, our shower was a spitter so it was difficult to get oriented properly. We did have hot water! :-) Toilet paper is a treasured commodity so plan ahead of you think you'll need more.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The courtyard and garden was lovely. Great location.
They had overbooked the hotel and even though I had booked weeks ahead, our room was unavailable when we checked in at 7pm after a long day of travelling to Machu Piccu and back. However, they walked us a block up hill to their other ¨nicer¨ location for ¨no extra cost¨. In my opinion it was just as nice, but the young man who walked us to the other location never greeted us or offered to carry any of our luggage.
