From the first time we walked in the gate and through those gorgeous gardens, we felt at home here. The rooms are lovely and the bed so comfortable! The walk to the village of Pisac is only a few minutes and we loved it as we could walk in to one of the excellent restaurants around the square for dinner or to the markets, but retreat to the gardens of La Casa if we wanted to. If you are walking into dinner, don't forget the torch supplied in your room for you trip home! It is also an excellent base to explore the Sacred Valley - we hired a taxi from down by the bridge in Pisac for half a day at a time....don't forget to negotiate the fare at the beginning! In fact, we loved this place so much we stayed an extra night instead of going to Cusco.
We had an issue with lack of hot water but it turned out the gas bottle just needed to be changed. We had trouble communicating this as Jorje, who speaks excellent English, was away for most of our stay, but we sorted it out eventually. This problem was partly a result of our poor Spanish!
I've always loved Pisac, but Casa del Conde took it to a whole other level. The view was perfection without having to go any further than 2 steps from my own door. I came from the jungle and was not prepared for the chilly evening. Jorge literally gave the clothes off his back! He lent me a big sweater and gym pants so that I couldn't be cold on my walk back that evening. The room was super comfortable clean and private.
Nice to be in the countryside.
The 'road' to the hotel was not wide enough for a taxi meaning you need to transfer to a motorbike taxi- not easy with luggage. It's also very difficult to get your cases up the grass hill to your room. The access road is about 1km long and unlit making a walk to town very uncomfortable. Whilst we had a pleasant stay in our own one room bungalow it felt more like a guest house than a hotel.
the beautiful garden in a rustic setting
room smelled of mold/mildew and the white bed sheets had black spots indicating mold or mildew (after confirming that they were not bed bugs). So did the shower curtain.
Breakfast great.owner very friendly and informative.
Hot water could be improved.
I loved the location. A beautiful setting in a lovely garden. Quiet, relaxing and tranquil. The owner, Jorge, was charming and very hospitable. The food was excellent.
On one evening we had a cold shower but this was rectified the next day.
Lovely setting, beautiful garden and well appointed rooms. Breakfast is delicious and the compound is a wonderful place to unwind. Jorge, the owner, is a gracious host and cares deeply about your comfort and experience. I would come back here in a heartbeat.
If you arrive at night, bring a flash light as the walk up the dirt road is pitch dark and a bit daunting if you have heavy luggage. Bring warm clothes as the morning and nights are chilly, even in the main house.
Exactly what we were looking for something more unique to the countryside excellent host with sincere hugs and knowledge highly recommended
Once inside, the property is as picturesque as the photo shows. Absolutely lovely serene ground filled with rose bushes and flowers and surrounded by breathtaking mountains. The owner is wonderful and the living room and breakfast he served was delicious. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Pisac. The walk to "town" (the church and the market is maybe 5 minutes, but it's so tranquil and BEAUTIFUL you enjoy it thoroughly. And may meet some of the locals along the way.
A taxi cannot take you to this location because the road is somewhat inaccessible. This is a problem if you have luggage. I don't know how someone would know to do so (we had a friend in Pisac), but they take you to a church where you then attempt to locate a motorized taxi. I use that word loosely. Think motorized motorcycle with an attachment that reminded me of an adult size baby carriage (one that would be attached to a bicycle. It fits 2 people and you may need an extra one for your luggage. If you arrive at night, as we did, it's a bit scary as the doors are closed and you wonder if you will be able to get in. Barking dogs helped. LOL
Our family of four (kids 9 and 11) loved Casa del Conde. Our beds were warm and comfortable, our views were gorgeous, the breakfast was great and the staff were friendly and knowledgable. We loved the quiet walk into the town along the old Inca wall. A serene setting.
Jorge could not have possibly been any more lovely or gracious. Throughout our communication leading up to our stay he did everything he could to help with logistics and transportation and answered my zillion questions. On arrival we felt so welcomed. Our room was sweet and immaculate, we napped in hammocks with the dogs, ate wonderful food at the house and spent time with our friend Jorge learning more about Pisac and the property. Absolutely fabulous time- we would never have left if we didnt have to!
Location is great, the garden is beautiful and well kept, nice decoration. Plus was the housekeeper lady: very kind and helpful. It is the best place to stay in Pisaq.
It is overpriced for Peru( $80 ) and the standard room we were in is still advertised on the hotel site for $ 60. This was the only hotel in Peru were we had to pay for 2 small bottles of water. Only cash!
The beautiful garden, the view and the other guests. The breakfast was good. The quiet and the huge bed allowed us to sleep very well for two nights. The maid (she is the only visible help in the house although there are gardeners) was welcoming and extremely helpful when we arrived under a tremendous downpour. The 1km. long little path to the house became unmanageable except by "moto-taxi." Because there are so few other places in Pisac, this one rates high. For the same price I went to the excellent Tierra Viva hotel in Arequipa.
The bed was so enormous that the room became very very small. The location is beautiful but extremely inconvenient. Even without rain, even with two carry-ons, you cannot roll your luggage on the path, so you depend on the moto-taxis. We were lucky that our Ollantaytambo driver introduced us to a wonderful guy, because the moto-taxis do NOT RUN at night. The management is rather casual, although the manager is very cordial, they charge 3 soles (more than double the store price) for a bottle of water: NO place I have been to in Peru, however humble, charges for bottled water.
We appreciated your gracious hospitality and sincerity. Thank you for arranging the tour trips to Chinchero, Salinas, Moray & Ollantaytambo. The transportation pickups from the airport and to our next destination added to the ease of our travels. Your driver was courteous and very professional. Your Casa is truly a magical place filled with positive Karma. Hope to visit again.
The place is lovely, a little heaven with a lot of flowers and quiet rooms.
Casa del Conde is quite far from the village. A 10 minute rocky walk by the fields, not accessible by car. Have a lamp on you because there is no light on the way, with holes in the bumpy road, a small river etc. Maybe it was a bad day but the communication with the owner was difficult, not friendly at all and pretty elusive. It is a pity because the place is amazing, yet a bit far from everything. We stayed at wonderful over places, with a lovely staff for much less than 80 USD (our room at Casa del Conde). Actually, I was quite sad because we decided to stay in Pisac especially for this place, because it seemed so lovely, but at the end, the experience left a bad feeling... ;(
The setting, the supremely comfortable beds and the wonderful owners looking after me, made this my favourite few days of my travels.
We loved the garden, the birds, the butterflies, the dogs and the meals. Everything about this place felt like "home" in all of the comfy senses. The owner made us a wonderful supper and breakfast was nice to have before we took off for our next adventures. Also, the owner is personable and kind. I definitely recommend this place over any we had seen in Pisac. The only thing I wished is that we could of enjoyed our stay for a longer period of time on this trip, but we will be back. Two thumbs up.
It was a little bit further on the dirt road than we thought - we walked it from town, and it is close - but a bit of a pain for a suitcase with wheels. The backpacks did fine. (: A short moto-taxi ride will also get you there through a narrow road. The moto-taxi ride we tried was an adventure and it was fun, and there always seems to be a moto-taxi close.
The rural, quiet, beautiful and totally safe location. The owner Jorge is a magical guy, make time to talk to him. He can help you with any of your travel plans. The room was excellent, the quality of the bedding was truly five-star. Excellent breakfast.
The property is hidden in a beautiful valley and surrounded by amazing mountains, away from the noise of the pueblo, but at waking distance. It has a large and gorgeous garden. Jorge is the king of hospitality! 5 stars experience!
Jorge and his mother are wonderful hosts! La Casa del Conde is absolutely gorgeous, sitting at the base of the mountains, with amazing gardens and overlooking the river. My only complaint is that we only had two nights here, It´s the kind of place you want to stay for a while, take some quiet time and enjoy the beautiful location.
Very nice staff calm location with a wonderful view we were hosted like kings
After an overnighter from SFO to Lima then flight to Cusco, this place was a "Welcome to Peru". It's a small walk on a dirt path…the taxi can only take you so far. And it felt strange to ring the bell on door in the wall. But as we walked in, the garden was soooo welcoming. The owner was so nice and spoke good English. Our room was wonderful. You can see the path up the hill to the ruins and down the valley. The gathering area/breakfast space, again, it was so welcoming. We didn't expect breakfast but in the morning after sleeping late, there were two glasses of fresh squeezed orange juice, bread, fruit and the cook made us some scrambled eggs. The owner came out and chatted with us and arranged a driver to take us to Moray and Ollytantambo. Everything here was great. The only thing I wish is that we bought more Christmas gifts at the Pisac market.
Wonderful atmosphere. The rooms are lovely, the view from the hotel garden is amazing, and the town centre is just a few minutes walk away. Everyone was so helpful! We will definitely stay here again.
Gorgeous setting, very peaceful. We wish we could have stayed longer!
