I go back here every time I'm in Iquitos . Pretty Courtyard, helpful staff, well kept and close to Plaza de Armas.
very well located reasonably comfortable nice courtyard with breakfast facilities attached cafe provides basic tea, coffee and snacky stuff pleasant staff
rooms a bit congested and not well ventilated bathrooms a bit untidy and smelly poor wifi facility
The room and bathroom were clean and there was hot water in the shower. The common courtyard is cute, comfy and the wifi was excellent. The breakfast was okay and there is self help for tea and coffe all day. All in all I would def. recommend La Casona.
The windows of the rooms open to the corridor of the hotel or it's courtyard which is not so good cause you can see and hear the guests all the time.
Staff and owner are very friendly and efficient.
Some rooms are kind of noisy.
I'm so glad I found this hotel in inquitos. The atmosphere was awesome with different sitting areas, lots of indigenous artwork throughout (including rooms). I had an air-conditioned room which worked fine. When I arrived i enjoyed the first warm (can't say hot) shower after two weeks in the jungle.
Being in iquitos and at a price point of only 30 US per night, I didn't expect it to be super comfortable, so I really don't have any complaints. Things that could be better: Pillows (the two i had were past their prime and should be replaced).
Close to main square with restaurants nearby.
Breakfast not included.
Close to main square. Some restaurants nearby.

Beautifully and uniquely decorated, attracts an interesting and diverse crowd.
Room itself could have been a bit better.
Big room with 2 wide beds. Very calm since the rooms are to the back of the building. Friendly people in the reception that suggested us a very nice and cheap lcoal place for dinner. Good breakfast in the inner courtyard. Good location in Iquitos, even if there is not so much to do
Windows of the room to the corridor so the room was quite dark. Airco of the other rooms quite noisy
Very pretty hotel with interesting art work everywhere. Excellent situation right near central square. Loved it.
Convenient location close to the main square and the water. Several restaurants nearby. Good wifi connection. Cater towards tourists and they speak English pretty well. The hostel is pretty well-kept with an entertaining Amazonian vibe. The rooms are basic and very simple. There is a fan and AC unit in the room. Breakfast is provided for 4 soles/person or $3 each and is very personalized.
Breakfast consists of bread, Jam and papaya juice. The rooms aren't super comfortable.. basic facilities though with shower, toilet, beds. Fan works nicely, but the AC unit is super loud and someone kept turning it off in the middle of the night... Then it would get toasty in the room. We ended up chasing mosquitos around in our room for an hour before beef so we wouldn't be eaten alive.
everything air conditioned room, hot water, clean rooms, lots of places to sit around the hotel, staff always cleaning,
It is clean and location is very good.
Spotlessly clean. Good air conditioning. Friendly and capable front desk people. Interesting layout. Good location.
Breakfast was only adequate. Juice, bread, margarine, tea/coffee, fruit. The atrium wasn't as fun a gathering place as it used to be... may not be their fault though.
Nice hostel, good location, free pick up from airport.
Poor breakfast and very low wifi in the room.
Location & Price
location, hotel courtyard was very pretty
bedding was really skimpy. Only a very thin bedspread and no top sheet. No counterspace in the bathroom.
La Casona has a real welcoming feel to it. There are a few communal spaces in the hotel where lots of interesting travelers congregate and share stories. There's also a communal book shelf where you're likely to discover something that speaks to you. There's a kitchen in the front where you can opt for breakfast, and they provide free filtered water, which is a wonderful amenity if you don't like having to rely on bottled water while in Iquitos. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and provide a map of the city when you check-in.
It's very nice that they provide two computers for guests to check their email, but the wireless connection was so slow that I was unable to load Gmail. I tried on my phone and was able to check my mail that way, so it's possible, just not reliable.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, it was not a problem that i spoke little spanish the rooms are value for money and right by the plaza de Armas....really happy with la casona
A great hotel in a central location. The rooms were clean and pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful. Top value for money!
This is a very good guesthouse arrangement with comfortable beds, good WiFi, Shower (with hot water) and the perfect location one block from Plaza de Armas (the Main Square) and malecon (amazon walk) where you can find restaurants, cafes, and bars to enjoy. You also have pharmacies and banks in vicinity (just one block) as well. I choose hotel this over the a luxury hotel because of the price (less than $300 for the week) and most luxury (3 to 4 stars) hotels in Iquitos were overpriced. Transportation (moto taxi or bus) is easily accessed from the hotel averaging $3 per destination. Tour offices are also located nearby for those desiring a tour of the Amazon.
You have to give 24 hours notice if you would like breakfast in the morning, it is not served automatically to accommodate everyone, understandable but just something to note because the breakfast area is quite small but it is only $2 for fruit, bread, coffee and juice.
The staff was very helpful. Location is great.
Nothing...rated 2 star...got what I paid for.
