Loved the accomodation, felt like we were really staying in a local home. The meals we had were amazing and so beautifully presented. Gorgeus setting, garden and restaurant. Lovely wine and even pepper grinders on the tables! Just stay as good as you are.
Only thing I could suggest is a lounge somewhere to sit when it is wet, we were there in the rainy season.
Nice and quiet location, big room, everything clean, good breakfast, nice and helpful owner, great dinner at night
no WIFI at the moment
Just everything: the lovely and helpful hosts, the great dinners cooked by his wife, the spacious and beautiful room. One of the best accomodations we ever stayed in.
The owner and his wife were so hospitable. They prepared two lovely dinners for us and the breakfasts were very good. Everything was thought of, water in the room music in the dining room. Yanque is a nice place to center yourself in Colca Canyon.
The clean and spacious room, the good bath with hot water. The owner and his family are always bending backwards to please the guests. The dinner they prepared was excellent.
It is a little isolated. Wish it would have had view to the gorgeous scenery. The walking to the thermal baths is all downhill, but you have to climb uphill on the way back and the dirt road is very dusty with all the cars passing you. I wished for a trail. If you don't speak Spanish bring a dictionary.
Very nice and helpful owners. Very, very good dinner.
Fantastic location for walking exploring etc
The owner changed the bill just as we were leaving and asked for more. I couldn't see any mistake but paid up for a quiet life. It was rather trivial but I left under the impression he'd been grasping.
This B&B is an excellent solution if you plan to see condors in Colca Valey. It is in Yanque, 6 km away from Chivay. You do not have to be in Chivay and every bus from Arequipa or local taxi (cost is 15 soles) will drive you to Yanque. Once there, it is a 2 min walk from main Square to the Miskiwasi B&B. Elar and his wife are great hosts who will make your stay very pleasant. You can count on Elar to organize the tour to Condor's place, bus to your next destination (Chivay-Puno, Chivay-Arequipa), 3 hour hike including the visit to hot springs. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. Room was clean, nice, with electric heater. They provided very nice breakfast and cooked good dinner.
A great base for visiting the Colca Valley. Yanque is a delightful village. There are lots of good walks in the area. The food is excellent value, a 3 course dinner for 30 soles, with everything very tasty. Breakfast is good and coffee comes out of an Italian stove top device, so much better than instant. Rooms are very comfortable.
Staff was very friendly The diner we had there was excellent, and at a very good price !
Charming wee BnB in Yanque, few miles from Chivay, nestled in the Colca Valley. Only a few rooms available, beds n showers both great. Eggs made to order in the morning and the dinner they made us was one of the best I had in Peru. The manager organised a trip to cruz del condor and transport to Arequipa as well as a 3 hour trek around the vicinity led by an entertaining young lad from the village. The trek ended with a visit to the thermal baths on the floor if the canyon! Very pleasant stay at what felt like a wee, exclusive private resort.
Wifi was dodgy but didn't really matter
+ Although it is located in the city limits of a rather uneventful town (hotels outside of town are more picturesque), the food & hospitality were very good + Hotel will arrange tours and transportation + The accomodations were more than adequate for our group of three + Short walk downhill to two hot springs places to soak your aching muscles (take taxi back)
- The town was rather boring - There was some construction to improve the hotel... annoying to us but once finished, better for you
Everything! Service is fantastic Food is great, always have dinner here! Don't wonder, just book it!
Wifi didn't work, but I guess you get that at the bottom of a canyon
Excellent stay. The owner is very helpful and makes you feel at home. The food is delicious and fresh, cooked by the wife of the owner. You can do some nice hikes from this location to see the colca valley. Hot springs are also on 20 min walking distance and require only 15 S entrance. Rooms are beautiful and nice bathrooms with great showers.
Everything. From the room's comodity, the hot shower with high pressure (not a given in Arequipa or Colca), the quietness and especially the owner's pleasantness (he can also recommend you activities to do around the hotel such as going to thermal baths or to a very nice 2-3 hour walk). Also, the food he serves at night is delicious, you should ask for the "trucha a las finas hierbas" or the "alpaca". It has an amazing view of the valley 5 minutes away.
Poor wi-fi signal but it really doesn't matter, especially in Colca where you want to relax and get away from the "city".
Absolutely wonderful place to stay in the Colca Canyon. In the winter, it's always cold at night (right around freezing) but there was a space heater in the room, as well as really warm blankets. The dinner was AMAZING- Alpaca steak, sopa de quinoa, vegetables, fruit and all the food was fresh and delicious. Breakfast was a typical Peruvian breakfast of eggs, bread and fruit. Lots of tea. The owner is an amazing guy who helped us find a tour to see the condors, transportation to Arequipa, and plenty of Mate de Coca for altitude sickness. Such a lovely man and always had a smile on his face and a helpful answer to every question. Also, the stars are beautiful there. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Canon de Colca.
Polite and friendly staff, allowed us to keep bags their while we ventured further into the canyon. Had I the chance to plan again I probably would have based us entirely in Yanque instead though!
the owner is a really good guy and his sense of service and hospitality are first rate. the room was comfortable. the breakfast was excellent and the dinner we ordered on our second night was fantastic.
The rooms were very nice, dinner and breakfast were excellent. We got exceptional service across the board! The owner went way out of his way to help us get to Arequipa. Value for the money was amazing.
It was the best accomodation ever! The host is very caring and would do anything to make you feel home. Show you around, explains where to go, what to see and cooks incredibly delicious meals. Do not hesitate and go ahead with the booking!
Beautiful room with comfortable double bed. Owner was very helpful in helping us organize tours. Owner's wife is chef and we enjoyed great dinner at B&B. Quiet location, a bit away from Chivay.
The host, Elar, was very friendly and accommodating. He and his wife cooked us a delicious meal. The king size bed was comfortable. Yanque was a charming town.
The owners were wonderful friendly helpful and welcoming. We loved it here. Yanque is real peru with lots of friendly people and a local guide recommend by the B&B took us to see the condors and down into Colca canyon.
We liked the spacious room and the large comfortable bed. There was a heater in the room which we used at night to take the chill off the room. The meals prepared for us were excellent and the owner was extremely helpful in recommending where to walk and providing information about local transport.
Everything was nearly perfect apart from the fact that the shower was not very hot. However when we mentioned this to the owner in the evening he rectified the situation and we had hot water the next morning.
