The laundry service wasn't that great; it took longer than promised so we had to shift back our plans by two hours. The bathroom ceiling also had some mold but it was a common theme in Peru given the dampness in the air so it is a minor issue (but could be a health concern for some). These are minor things, so don't let it stop you from booking.
Ollantaytambo is a small town so the location is not bad no matter where you are, but the hotel is right up the street from the station (Peru Rail) and ruins which is an added plus. The view was absolutely stunning and was the biggest plus; the river and the ruins on the mountain was spectacular. Very quiet and had the tranquil sounds of the rushing river. It was one of my favorite hotels (and places) in the country. Breakfast is situated in a nice area with windows and you can order off a menu as well. Rooms were spacious, charming, and comfortable with food floors. I recommend paying extra for the view rooms. A resident cat was also a great companion during our stay. Overall, I would highly recommend it. Staff was nice as well; the one guy seemed to be working at all hours every day. His English is also very good.
