Score from 247 reviews Wonderful
Clean, updated hotel with spacious rooms. Breakfast was nice. Located next to shopping mall, shops.
staff very kind good location, 5 block from main square good quality of breadfast
Personel, breakfast, close to the city center (Plaza de Armas)
Cold at night (hopefully, after asking, they brought us a heater, it was not enough!)
The staff were excellent and hotel was well appointed. The breakfast is varied and plentiful and the room service is probably the best we have ever had.
Nothing really. The hotel is maybe a ten min walk from the main square but walking in Cusco is no hardship.
Clean and modern hotel, with an excellent breakfast buffet
Located right outside the historic center, but occasionally just a tiny bit too far.
The Sonesta hotel was an excellent choice. I traveled with a friend and we did not have any problems. Before traveling I was a bit apprehended in staying here by reading other reviews. The main things that worried me were the hot water (to shower) and the heater. Sonesta does offer hot water (there was never a problem with it). Our room did have a heater system but it is only active from 6 PM to 11 PM. They do have portable ones at one's request. Also, we did get a free transportation from airport to hotel (you get one free transportation). Prior to arriving I kept emailing them and they were excellent at replying and answer my doubts. The staff and breakfast buffet were amazing! I would definitely be staying here again when I go back to Cusco.
Staff could have been quicker when checking in. I was kept waiting for twenty minutes before beginning the process.
Big room size
Staff were totally uncaring
Great looking hotel. They even had a local woman dressed up in their traditional costume - good for picture-taking for tourists.
Perfect location, delicious breakfast.
1) very very helpful staff- at the bar, at the restaurant, at the reception, all other hotel staff 2) very good service 3) very nice hotel- perfect for the cusco level 4) clear 5) safe
1) only one thing was negative - some noise in the room or outside the room - we couldn't understand , for some hours
The Wi-Fi was poor. The housekeeping is regular.
All staff were kind, really wanted to make us enjoy our stay. Hotel looks brand new and rooms are spacious and very comfortable.
First 3 nights pre trek was very comfortable, staff very helpful, very handy location. Room on last night of stay after trip was excellent. Very impressive
Sometimes it felt like staff gave the impression they understood what you were asking but reality they didn'T. Think that is more a language issue I.E. we brits need to learn more than a staff issue
Good location, comfortable and clean rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
1.No tea/coffee facilities in the room (which must be for the 4* hotel); 2.Transfer to the airport was late, poor solving of the problem (only after our insisting the staff started taking measures)
The hotel is on a main street within easy walking district of the Plaza Mejor and the colonial churches and other buildings. The décor is Andean. I stayed there as a base for a trip to Machu Picchu and will likely return to see more of Cuzco and the local area. The staff is extremely courteous and everyone spoke English. Outstanding.
Located near the Plaza de Armas and the Craft Market.
Everything was perfect
The location to the train station made it good choice for us.
A message was left for us, but we did not receive it.
Would easily recommend and would stay here again.
1. The hotel does not have AC. When reported to the front desk, the attendant said it is because the hotel does not have an air conditioning system, only heating. Even though outside was 10 degrees celsius, the room was a steady 24 degrees. We couldn't open the window because the street outside is so noisy. The front desk suggested they send a fan to our room. We had to spend 2 nights in a 4 star hotel with an unbelievable noise from the enormous fan they sent us. 2) They say they offer free transfer, but they don't! We asked in advance for the transfer from and to the airport. Upon arrival, there was nobody waiting for us and we had to wait 40 minutes after calling the hotel and complaining about it. The day before our departure we called the front desk to arrange the transfer and got a confirmation again. However, the next morning there was nobody waiting and the front desk said we asked for a taxi and not the free transfer. When we complained again, they said we were right, that the transfer was coming back to get us because he had left the hotel since we were late (which we weren't). When our transfer arrived it was actually a taxi that charged us the ride.
Most of the peaple will tel you that rooms with the city views are the best. Well personaly this is not true is South America. The traffic is horible, old puffing smelling cars and diesel busses and CONSTANT honking of the cars :) may easily disrupt your sleep. Therefore I was happy to have room with no city view. This way I was able to sleep well. Hotel was nice, no problems with plumbings or AC, no problems with cold nights, no strange smell. worth every euro I paid. Locaton ok like 1km from the ceneter
Everything is good here. The staffs were very nice. They have the best breakfast ever! So good! And the hotel is very very close to the main bus station to connect to train to Macchu Pichu
The decoration, the utilities and the rooms in general were nice.
The personnel in the reception were behaving as if they were making a favor when answering questions or requests. The lady in the night of March 17 and the lady with name Indira were very nice, but the rest were really disappointing. I do not think I will choose Sonesta again if I travel to Cusco.
