walking distance to centre; good breakfast
the family that runs the place is cute and friendly, breakfast is very good and plentiful, the room is quite big
accommodation is too basic for what is provided (a bed, an empty IKEA bookshelf, a small night table and two electric fans) and the price is almost 90 Euros per night for single occupancy so the value is not good especially compared to such places in French Polynesia as Tapu Lodge, Hiti Moana Villa, Hotel Kaveka and Pension de la Plage which are cheaper and offer much better value
This ticked all our boxes for a value for money place to stay, but the real value came from Vaiana and her team's warmth, helpfulness and friendly approach. Our room was comfortable and functional. A ten minute walk put us into town and the harbour front. Vaiana organised our airport transfers and also stored our luggage for 4 days while we visited Bora Bora - nothing was too much trouble and everything went smoothly. We'd like to stay again and explore more of the Island.
A 'simple' continental breakfast may not be to everyone's taste, but everything we had was fresh.
Quiet location away from main streets. Wifi is free and works satisfactorily for basic usage. My spacious room included an efficient air-conditioner. Standard continental breakfast is included. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Located 15-minutes walk away from the city center. No TV in rooms.
we booked a studio type room , bed bath , it was really big , really good value . The breakfast was simple but good.
that they did NOT have tea coffee facilities would be my biggest gripe , bathroom door was only a curtain , but that could be an island thing.
Very friendly and clean. Good Taxi airport service at an extra cost.
Pretty clean ~15 min walk from ferry Friendly staff Pretty clean
Nothing terrible stood out, but I would have liked a mosquito net over the bed.
Very friendly staff, great value.
Location, empty fountain, A/C in room on full-blast and no control or remote to change its setting can make for a very chilly night.
Vaiana was really excellent to deal with and her staff keen to please. Very few guests the two separate nights I stayed but the one other guest who shared my shuttle and I hit it off and had a great time the next day around town. Vaiana arranged South Pacific Tours to pick up and drop me off from Airtport - a very good service.
It's location is appalling. No sleep on my second stay with dogs barking and roosters crowing all night. The walk from town at night is not at all suitable for a lone woman traveller. It's an understatement to note that Papeete is not renown for being an attractive town!
My new friends treated me like family from the start!!! Great vibes! I would rate Ahitea Lodge top notch! Highly recommend staying here I would definitely stay again!+. Delicious food!!!!!
I should have booked more nights!!!
The experience of staying in a pension run by a Tahitian family, dinner with the family, friendly, french speaking, nice swimming pool, free Wifi, transport to the airport.
Location not good, distance from town etc, dogs in the street when walking to the nearby minimart.
We had to have a room overlooking the pool with a balcony, instead we had a room in the former kitchen. Only the bed, nothing more. Bathroom and toilet old, uncomfortable. Never more this hotel.
Friendly and family-like staff. The excellent diner!
The pool was useful as theres nothin to do in papeete its a port thats very busy with traffic coming and going. At night a few things came alive there was a few bars and restaurants opened up. Even tourist info struggled to find something for us to do during the day and sent us on a walking tour of papeete which was a waste of time. They said the busses were unreliable and not to use them so it was a long day in papeete.
Location of hotel isnt the best. I certainly wouldnt want to do it on my own. Long streets with locals and dogs watching you as you walk by im sure nothing would happen but very intimidating.
The staff is attentive and helpful.
A bit of a walk to get to the waterfront and city attractions
Staff very helpfull.
the owner was very friendly and helpful with everything. however, prices are incredibly high on the whole island.I just think over 100 dollar for a very basic room is far too much.
breakfast was bread with butter and honey, coffee and juice. not very much for the price u pay.
Comfortable bed. Clean but basic
No air conditioning Not very convenient to town while walking.
Nice people and place.
