We stayed for 14 days at this marvelous place and most of the time we were the only guests. The day started with a breathtaking sunrise and a good breakfast, then we enjoyed snorkeling at the corals, going fishing in the lagoon, talking a walk over the motus and the riff, trips to bird island, garden of eden and the village. It was a great experience to change shrimps with the likeable guys Remo and Tufa on Hakamanu´s own farm and also harpooning with them. The day ended with a colourful sunset and a delicious dinner with all varieties and different ways of preparation of fresh fish! Rose and Robert are two loveable people and were anxious to make this vacation unforgettable. They always answered our questions and brought us some understanding for the polynesian culture and living on the atoll. In so far it wasn't a disadvantage to make experience with a few moments of missing water and electricity and a not working boat. It's great to have Hakamanu Lodge on the gorgeous Tuamotu Islands!
The place, the proprietary and the kind of food the chef has prepared for us. Some activities like the fishing ( fish and shells)
Isolated relaxation that is the perfect image of French Polynesia Exceptional food cooked by the team there each evening.
Rose and Robert were friendly and kind, they were accommodating to my vegetarian diet and just overall wonderful people! The room was very clean and the island was beautiful and tranquil.
I would have paid extra for hot water in the shower, although no hot water is common in these parts.
one of the best of our experiences in French Polynesia!!!For sure we will go back especially because of the warmth given by Rose, Robert,Roxanne and raymond!!! Thank you all so much for this unique and lovely experience we will never forget!
Robert & Rose are such lovely host. They really make you feel welcome and at home. The lodge is located right on the beach and you can snorkel and see lagoon fish including stingrays right at your doorstep. The placeis really charming and secluded. Rooms are simple and clean, and there are also family tents nearby. The best thing about the stay is the food! We stayed for 1 nights and were served delicious poison cru, fried lagoon fish and excellent dessert. Food here is better than the pearl resort where we stayed for 2 days afterwards
The only slight downside to the lodge is the distance from the main village. It's about 25 mins, so if you plan to dive, you will need Robert to take you there.
