Location was very nice.
We were only allowed 1 bath towel per person. They did not offer any washcloths, hand towels or pool towels.
Snorkeling right in front of the villa was fantastic, with coral and beautiful tropical fish. Good quality masks and snorkels are provided for guests to use. The hotel also has kayaks, and kayaking out on the lagoon was majical. Nice to have a kitchen.
There is no air con in the apartment! We travelled in January, and it was just too hot to be comfortable in the evening (things do cool down a bit over night). Kitchen facilities are old. No detergent or brush to wash the dishes. You really need a car to stay in this hotel.
We loved Henryetta! The place is lovely. We had the bungalow facing the lagoon and it was everything you think of when you think of Tahiti. We had a couple of nights before our cruise due to funky airline schedules. We didn't realize the place was so remote. August was very accommodating and took us to a grocery store and went in with us, translating and helping with prices, etc. we had a very bad experience with a taxi on our arrival. Henryetta found out and called a different cab for us at a third the price. The driver she called us contacted the original driver and apparently scolded her. She met us at the cruise ship terminal and refunded $40. Beware, prices double after 8:00. They have you there because the flights don't get in until 10:00 pm. None of the transportation issues were the fault of Hitimoana and they were extremely helpful in resolving these issues. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Be sure you stay in a bungalow and not the rooms directly behind the office. Very nice pool. Thank you Henryetta and August
There is no restaurant on the property or within walking distance. We arrived late at night and someone was in the bungalow we were paying for. The owners moved us the next morning to the lovely bungalow we had reserved. The first room was not nice at all. The villa is quite a ways from the airport and the cruise terminal. Taxis are horribly overpriced. Once you get there you are stuck unless you've rented a car. There is no air conditioning and no screens. There were warnings about Mosquitos and chikungunya.
very good aditional breakfast: delicious fruit and complete homemade french breakfast, highly recommanded! Take a bungalow with sea-view, it's werth
for Tahiti a typical easy furniture - as an european we are not used to it in this proce-class, but its all over Tahiti the same..
Location and setup of bungalow. Feeding the fish. Kayaks and snorkeled gear to borrow. The view!
Would suggest napkins and/ or paper towels for using eating area and to help with cleaning up after using eating area. No sharp knife for our fresh pineapple, but we managed with the cheese server.
The Villa was located on the far side of the Island from the airport, so it is a little bit of a drive to get there, but well worth it. This is not the place for those that want full service hotel amenities. This is the place for those that like to get away to a quiet comfortable place where they can relax with nature in a peaceful environment. Nice restaurants and grocery stores are located close by. Facilities are outstanding and staff could not be more pleasant.
Bed is hard by Western standards (normal by Asian standards) and WIFI is extra with service that cuts out at times.
Lovely gardens-Balcony-Pool-free kayaks-good snorkelling
32km out of town can be expensive to get there. No coffee or tea or botteled water provided in room. Rooms can do with maintanance
Staff were super friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was not included in the price but could be ordered for an extra 1,500 XPF and was amazing. Great waterfront location and there was even a really nice clean pool.
Bungalows were slightly dated and could have been cleaner. Unless you rent a car you are very far away from everything. Not much to do in the evenings around the villa.
the guesthouse has the most beautiful garden to be found in a private property, snorkelling off the property is extraordinary and both the landlord and landlady are really professional and friendly, very good value indeed
Location was great, swimming pool nice and clean, free use of canoes in the lagoon, snorkeling among tropical fish in the coral reef direct from the pontoon.
Owner may seem a bit unfriendly but it seems to be his direct way of saying that Hitimoana Villa is a family business with self-catering bungalows and that they don't provide services unless at extra cost and that if you want 5 star service you should go to a 5 star hotel and pay about 5 times the price. Once you know that, he and his wife and son are actually very friendly and helpful in finding restaurant, rental car and supermarket and may even drive you to a restaurant. The place is also not in the center so you should have a rental car. I can recommend this beautiful place to travelers who don't start whining about details and are used to self-catering.
Relaxing place Clean and tidy Airport pick up
Friendly staff, quiet area, lots of flowers and green stuff, pool on site but cold water. Nice balcony, well equipped, fridge, MW
No beach, slippery access to water, nice snack fairly close (Timi). Foul smell in the toilet.
Friendly staff and dog "Lani".
Free kayaks. Decent pool. Good views (we had lagoon view.) Fish pond with turtles.
Far from town (public transport much more reliable than on other islands.)
Excellent breakfast (not included in rate) Kayaks to go to the reef where skorkeling was great. Noce garden.
Nice bungalows, but they could really be cleaner. Very expensive for what is offered.
The setting of the hotel right by the sea, good pool and if we wanted anything we just had to ask
We should have gone half board as it was some way to the nearest shop and you do need a car to get around
