Almost anywhere in French Polynesia is not cheap. Setting up this operation must have come at a significant cost, not to the environment, but to the customer. It's a long way to go for a South Seas destination, but it's worth the time, effort and yes, money, to get there.
Transfer by hotel launch from airport to hotel. Very attentive staff. The over water villas are surprisingly large, top quality fittings, the views, the lagoon, and the comfort. Breakfasts were quite good, with a good choice. Lunch and dinner were ok, but certainly not 5 star. Had to wait quite a while for service at dinner on two occasions. Several tables were empty, 6 or so waitresses, an undermanager ? standing by the food counter trying to help the two cooks under pressure. Waited 40 minutes for "essentially" fish and chips. I know an experienced fish fryer, he can cook almost any fish in 7 minutes !
