Bora Bora, per se, is wonderful. Beautiful beaches, temperature and colors of lagoon waters are incomparable. Intercontinental has a great location, in the east part of the island (best views and prettier waters), incredible room and staffing very friendly and well trained. Perfect place for a honeymoon.
Nothing. The location is pricy, and as The hotel is in a islet (motu), one thing to consider is that you need to take a boat to any program outside the hotel... But amenities and services presented there are excellent also.
My husband and I spent 2 nights at Intercontinental Thalasso Bora Bora. We booked the most expensive Diamond overwater bungalow and book the expensive wedding package as well, so it's supposed to be our honeymoon. It is located on the motu of Bora Bora and boat is the only way to get there. The room is clean but facilities are a bit old already. Some staff are well trained.
First of all, too expensive. Our expectation is quite high since we paid so much. We chose to send the big amount of room charges and part of wedding services via bank transfer prior to our departure in order to get rid of the transaction fee charged by Visa. Until the day we arrived, the hotel said they haven't received the money and we were blamed by the chef concierge for not being supportive for the investigation even we called our bank from Bora Bora and gave them every supporting document we have to find out where the money is and we were requested to pay twice if we want to leave the island. Please don't forget that that day is our wedding day and the next day is my birthday, and we have been chasing for money all the time. Even we got a late check- out the next day, we felt like that our big day has been ruined. The funny thing is, after the investigation is finally done, the result is that the beneficiary bank has actually received the money on the same we sent out. Due to uncertain reason the bank is not sure about this transfer and didn't release the money and the recipient, which is Intercontinental Thalasso Bora Bora didn't check with the beneficiary bank properly, we, as customer who paid thousand Euro per night have been disturbed and blamed instead, and have to pay twice upon check out and are still chasing for the refund of the second payment 2 weeks after our trip. Bora Bora is paradise for many people, but for us, the experience was not very nice. Definitely we won't go back again. The four season and the St. Regis would be better option.
Beautiful resort with everything on site. Amazing!
Location, room, service
It's impossible not to love Bora Bora. Simply wonderful. Excellent Snorkelling. We found enough to do at the resort without needed to pay for expensive extras.
We booked at a quieter time of year (early March) The hotel had shut two of it's three restaurants, limiting choice.
Everything!!! Fantastic location and specious rooms.
This is an all round excellent resort for the discerning traveller
