The place was overrun by out of control kids. Parents letting there kids take over the place with little to no supervision. Staff were unhelpful and turned a blind eye. Some staff even avoided eye contact. Food was over priced and not good value for money. Buffet breakfast cost $100au for two and the hot food was cold. There was no fresh fruit, only tinned and we didnt enjoy the fact that we had to battle with what seemed like a million kids just to enjoy our b'fast. I could have sworn it was a kids club rather than a resort. Our bathroom ceiling had water leaking through it all over the floor and it took an hour for someone to come and have a look at it There were no english tv channels on the tv. A very old hotel that has had a bandaid refurbish. You can hear everyone around and above you moving about their rooms and lots of door slamming noises Just not what we expected from a romance/honeymoon destination

We loved the grounds with all the flowering tropical plants and trees. The lagoon was wonderful for swimming. We liked walking out on the wharf and looking at the tropical fish. We enjoyed our balcony and the design and size of the room. The beds were great. The air conditioning was perfect and appreciated. The design of the lobby and other common areas was pleasing. We liked the proximity to the mall and other restaurants. We did not like the small fridge and the fact it was not very cold, but we were happy to have a fridge. We would have liked to have a proper ice bucket and the ability to get our own ice. The prices in the restaurants were much too high. We never once ate there. The lighting on the driveway was very poor at night for going out on foot.

Wonderfull setting of the overwater bungalow and the privacy, on could enjoy there Services like towles for the beach, free water every morning, help with car rental Good but expensive breakfast buffet Mosquitonet was cut in to many pieces and not really covering the bed Sunchair on balcony was broken Room seemed not too well kept in all Would have expected a filled up minibar Wireless not included Complementary Airportshuttle system missing and charge way higher, than what one pays with a local taxi. Service at the poolbar a bit slow

Superb design and grounds. We where in an over-the-water bungalow. Don't believe any of those who criticize it fro not having instant access to water or a window in the floor. A lovely balcony overlooking the lagoon, a sense of really being part of a beautiful scene, easily outweighs any drawbacks. Friends stayed in a garden room, and were equally pleased. The white sand pool is terrific, and there is limited snorkeling and kayaking. Prices are high (they are almost everywhere), but compared to Le Meridien, the Intercontinental feels commercial and compressed, while the Radisson is on a hill with a nice view, but between Papeete and Pt. Venus which is largely unattractive because of the development there. A shallow white beach fronts Le Meridien, and stretches along the shore for a walk, and if its restaurant Le Carre is too expensive to do everyday, there is a shopping center next door (invisible from the hotel), with some alternative and more reasonable restaurants. Le Cigalon is one: great pizzas! We thought Le Meridien, after looking around, was clearly the best place to stay in a luxury hotel in Tahiti. Only one thing: they, like the other hotels, play international pop music that would be familiar in Los Angeles or London or... They did one night at Le Carre restaurant, loudly, which put us off so we went elsewhere that night. We left a note for the management reminding them people come to Tahiti and the South Seas to get away, and would vastly prefer the local music. It is part of the Starwood chain, so who knows if anyone will pay attention. Aside from this, Le Meridien is a great place. We changed our reservtions after a cruise to go back there, instead of a different hotel we had lined up.

It was a beautiful hotel featuring lovely gardens and loved the sand bottom pool. Very good location and not far from the city.. The food at their restaurants was expensive. The food was inetable and we encountered a very unfriendly,cold waitress who didn't realy want to be there. Also they don't give enough information on special activities or things to do in Tahiti.

Beautiful Views; the Trio of foie Gras at Le Carré Restaurant; the Barman The overwater bungalows have no stairs to access the water and some silly nets that cut the view partially (maybe to protect children from falling, but then again who takes children to overwater bungalows?); extremely slow and despairing internet access;

Great design of the resort over all with a grand entrance/lobby area, easy access to the restaruant, bar and beautiful lagoon style swimming pool. The room was bright and modern and the bed, the bed linen and robes were so comfy. Beautiful gardens, friendly and helpful staff, nice beach area with a great view of Moorea, especially with the sun setting over the island. Free internet in the lobby and complimentary bottled water was a real bonus.There is a shopping centre right next door with a patisserie, shops, supermarket, restaurant, bar and ATMs. This was a great introduction to Tahiti, we stayed at Le Meridien for 3 nights before heading off to Moorea and liked it so much that we stayed another 2 nights on the way back before flying home. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. The only downfall is that it is probably the furtherest hotel from the airport and Papeete and taxis aren't cheap. However, there is a shuttle into Papeete which goes twice a day and this is cheaper than taxis - and the driver is very friendly.

Setting is great, staff are helpful and polite and able to understand some English. Had an excellent waitress one evening who helped me with a french lesson with every visit to the table! Shower room available when departing late in the day after you have checked out which is vital before you get on the plane home. Obtaining a rental car was easy and parking is not a problem. There are just a few things which would be on my wish list to have made our stay even better. A gymnasium would have been a great asset and I would have used it each day. A hitting wall on the edge of the tennis court would be great as its not allways possible to find a partner especially if the temperature is 27+. Would have been helpful at check in if we could have received (time permitting) a short run down on what there is vailable to do both inside and outside the resort.
