We did like the pool and the gardens. We did some kayaking also. We ate at the water side restaurant which was very good.
When we arrived at the hotel late at night, we were informed that our reservation was cancelled even though I had a printed confirmation from Booking.com. Ended up paying a rack rate for lagoon view room instead of over the water. Very disappointing, there were significant problems with room that had to be resolved during our stay - like lights not working, tv not working, refrigerator not working, and sliding glass door impossible to open. The breakfast at the main dining room was not good.
The pool was divine
The bathroom was old needed up grading.
View from room. Overwater bungalow was beautiful. Located next to shopping center.
High prices, especially the restaurants. Staff was uninformed about trips, activities and general information about the area.
Room was far from foyer and no food available after hours for late arrivals.
Awesome bed and the pool is magnificent - No need to go or do anything else - just stay by the pool
Everything is very expensive
The location of the property is fantastic. Our overwater bungalow was great. It was a gift to my wife for our anniversary. We ate well at the formal dining restaurant, and we fell asleep listening to the surf on the reef. The bottle of champagne was a great touch and Benjamin, the maitre d'hotel at the restaurant, presented us with a marvelous dessert with a candle. The staff was also very attentive to our needs.
It was obvious that the weather or age has taken its toll on the wood all over the property. There were many warped and loose boards leading out to the overwater bungalows. There were decks that were in terrible disrepair or falling down. Safety rails on ouor deck were loose and possibly dangerous. Lots of maintenance needs to be performed, especially if they are going to charge what they currently charge.
Over water bungalow all we expected. Room a trifle shabby but still beautiful with better than expected bathroom , very comfortable bed and terrific service. Beach service good and very beautiful. Quality of food excellent.
Service in restaurant can be too slow and the choices for lunch are not adequate. Internet service is awful
The grassy knoll on the beach to relax on sun beds & enjoy the view, supermarket and patisserie just outside hotel.
Breakfast buffet was quite below par, then you allow for the huge price and it was really below par.... Althpugh high prices were expected!
We enjoyed a perfect, fun-filled and relaxing holiday at Le Meridien Tahiti recently. The Staff were exceptional in all respects, our ocean view rooms were beautifully appointed and exceeded all expectations, the food was fresh and utterly delicious, cocktails plentiful and masterfully mixed, wine list most pleasing, the tropical gardens/ lagoon setting truly spectacular. Le Meridien Tahiti is everything we wanted and more... Each day we woke up to paradise and dazzling Tahitian hospitality... Every Staff Member we encountered made us feel truly welcome and we were warmly, thoughtfully, promptly and professionally attended to from the moment we arrived to the moment we (reluctantly!) departed! The local knowledge of Reception Staff was first rate too. Le Meridien Tahiti gave us a fabulous holiday experience that we look forward to repeating in the near future! Whether you enjoy being active on holiday or relaxing and being pampered (or both), for superb Tahitian hospitality and beautiful tropical surroundings in a great location look no further. **TOP TIPS: The cultural dinner show on Friday nights is a must! Also, book kayaks, snorkel gear, cooking and art classes, etc., early to avoid disappointment. The same applies to booking tours and adventure activities.**
(There wasn't anything we disliked!)
leaving for Moorea
the hotel was dirty very poor meals don't waste your $
Location. The hotel is about 15 minutes taxi ride from the airport, but there is also a small shopping mall right outside, with restaurants and local shops, so you are not confined to the hotel's expensive meals. The grounds are lovely, and good views over to Moorea.
This hotel is poorly maintained - multiple minor repairs needed, but they all mount up to being very frustrating when you are paying such a huge amount of money to stay in an overwater bungalow. I believe that the jetty from the water bungalows, into the lagoon, was damaged due to weather. However, the two access points have just been left with ropes denying access and look very dilapidated. Being able to watch the tropical fish from the balcony was pleasant. this hotel lacks personal service and seems to be just another hotel in a big chain.
Pool area, staff, location
room was a little grotty, light fittings were old, tiles were marked, AC was very noisy.
Maids were helpful Sand bottom pool
Reception staff was uninformed, unhelpful and barely civil. Should not have to pay for more than 1 bottle of water per room No beach Restaurant was out of the first 2 entrees I ordered AND the first 2 wines we ordered.
Lake-like swimming pool Maids
Very rude, arrogat and non- helpful staff at reception. Having to pay for drinking water after one bottle for 2 people per day. Also have to pay for more than 2 coffee capsules per day. No beach At dinner, first 3 main dishes and the wine we ordered they were out of. Private transfer car we ordered for pickup at the airport wasn't there.
The staff we're exceptionally helpful and we're ready to offer advice on tours transfers etc. The transit room was very helpful, to be able to rest and use facilities whilst waiting for a night flight was such a relief. The sandy bottom pool was beautiful, and well designed.
Food was a little pricey though I understand this is the case in most of French Polynesia.
Staff on strike and terrible service. The pool was shallow and very cold. The restaurants and rooms were extremely expensive!!! Not good value for the money.
The pool was amazing.
Cleanliness and service can be improve to comply with the Meridien standards
The hotel had a nice Tahitian dance program on Friday nights. Their sand-bottomed pool was very pleasant.
Unbelievably, this hotel sold our room for a half day to someone off the cruise. We were left waiting for our room until after 6 PM. Everything about this hotel was a little run-down and overpriced. In addition, service was generally only fair. All in all, this hotel and island could not compare with Hawaii!
Rooms and facilities tired. Check in hopeless. Tried to upgrade us to the room we had booked when we complained! Housekeeping poor. Restaurant very expensive for limited menu. Charging for shuttle to Papeete just silly. Badly needs refurbishing. Would not recommend.
We receive our room at 4.00 pm and we did not receive our Sharwood points
Very nice, but aging buildings. Great setting
They failed to book taxi, or take in consideration that we booked a twin room
Requested two beds, had a king. Not good after long flight and brothers!
The pool is beautiful. The room we had was very comfortalbe and had nice view to the pool and to the sea through the garden. The staff is very nice and very helpful.
The breakfast is not included in the price and very expensive.
The hotel has quite nice territory and nice sandy beach. beautiful sunsets from overwater bungalows facing right. Nice french restaurant new the beach
we had an overwater bungalow, but actually booked bigger room with ocean view in the main building. after first day in the hotel i realized that we were really lucky to get it, coz staying in the main building would be very noisy and not comfortable at all. the room we were supposed to have didn't seem to have ocean view at all. Our bungalow looked a bit tired and could be kept better. Mosquito net was with many holes and looked ridiculous and useless. the system of the air conditioning was placed right near the entrance door and was so noisy that it was absolutely not possible to use it during the night, we slept with the open balcony and it was ok for us especially since we were there during the rainy season and it wasn't too hot during the night because of rain and wind. the hotel is far away from everything, so if you want to go to the town be ready to pay about 35 USD one way for a 10 min. drive and much more expensive after 8 pm. Food in the restaurant was a bit expensive (as everywhere in French Polynesia thought) but nice. in general all of the above could be more or less ok if it was a standard 3 star hotel and costed two times less.
Nice and helpful staff, clean and big size oceanview room, very comfortable bed.
The overwater bungalows are useless and very expensive, but no chance to connect a water and have private swimming, just a wasting money. No beach. The swimming pool is small. Overpriced food. No WiFi in the room, but it could be very beneficial for the hotel without beach and very expensive restaurants.
