By the beach
You will be stuck at the hotel and there are dangerous mosquitoes that can make you really ill.
Good location, although it helps to have your own transport on this island (car, bike). Nice food and good prices. Staff speak English. Next to the beach for swimming/snorkelling.
First of all, I am a seasoned backpacker and my standards are generally not that high whenever it comes to budget hostels but this was without a doubt the worst place I have ever stayed. The rooms were horrific, there was no door or Window so mosquitoes were rife, the toilets and showers were disgusting, the staff were completely unhelpful, the food was inedible and the location is terrible. We had to hire bicycles (at $50 a day) in order to be able to leave the remote pension. We actually left early it was so bad. Skip Moorea in general if this is the only place to stay in your budget.
The view on the lagoon is amazing, we saw a leopard ray. Free kayaks. Close to the Hilton you can go there for nice dinner or the beach. The housekeepers are friendly!
There is no fridge in the room! it's just a shame in Moorea. The owner is not really helpfull and his not here all the time (reception often closed). No air conditional This pension need some renovations Some pension in Moorea are less expensive and better funished.
Hot showers Free use of kayaks Cute puppy
Owner unhelpful No kitchen facilities No security No door or wall in dorm Thin mattress Light bulbs out Needs repairs
Small local place, only 6 units, 3 on the water and 3 behind. You could snorkel in front of your room. Bigger hotels 3x as much and none of the charm of being Tahiti.
Everything was so expensive on the island. Food selection at Pension was limited and the breakfast was not included in the price. Hilton charges to use the beach in front of their hotel.
This is a great place to stay, the staff was friendly and the pension owner is a very happy and friendly sole. He was always greeting us with a warm smile and asking us about our adventures as well as assist us in booking the excursion for following days. snorkeling right there of the dock was good nice coral garden with lots of colorful fish (Poisons ;Fr)
Secluded from local conveniences, but many restaurants and excursions do pick-ups. If you care to adventure on your own I suggest you rent a car. Rentals are a little expensive but what isn't in FP.
We stayed in a garden view bungalow the flowers were beautiful and very well kept. The staff was very friendly, the food at the restaurant was good and well priced. You can book excursion's through the front desk they also have pamphlet's available. They have a nice dock leading out to the gorgeous water for swimming or just to look at the beautiful fish. The hotel provides kayak's at no charge. A great place to stay if coming to Moorea on a budget.
The room's only have fans and when it's very hot out and you are used to a colder climate an air conditioner would be nice. But we found if you leave the door and windows open it does cool down.
Pretty scene in front of a private beach, snorkeling right in front, kayaking, friendly staff. Good value for the money.
No fridge, no wifi, road with traffic behind and too many roasters.
Beautiful scenery! Peacefulness!!
The staff was very helpful. They booked a lagoon tour for my second day that was great fun. Very friendly people.
Price: very inexpensive.
Dorm beds are upstairs in an open air room with no fan or breeze. The room doesn't have screens, so there are bugs. It's quite noisy as it's facing the street. The bathrooms are dingy and not really clean.
Stunning views and friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful beach right outside. I stayed in the dormitory and ate in the restaurant 3 times (2 x breakfast, 1 x dinner). Meals are large (2 females shared one dinner and was plenty) and reasonably priced.
There are no shops in close vicinity and no fridge for the dormitory rooms so you need to buy water from the pension, if you like it chilled, daily, which is more expensive than buying at the general store.
Having the room in front of the sea.
Location, comprehensive menu, price
all excellent, no negatives
