Location, large room, comfortable bed, helpful front desk but not very friendly. She did help us find a rental car which was very helpful!
Bathroom needed repairs and had no soap, shampoo, lotion. Towels very thin & scratchy. No coffee maker or safe. The second time we stayed had everything but the safe. Had coffee but it was instant - yuk!
Comfort and convenience
room size, baggage drop off, staff communication skills
very slow check in process, very dull corridor and room lights, no exhaust in wash room and tv channels (no english)
The Hotel Sarah Nui is located close to the harbor and the Roulottes (dinner trucks). The lobby was attractive and well air conditioned. The clerk at the desk spoke English and was very polite.
When we took the elevator to our room, the area near the elevator was well-lit and attractively decorated. As we turned to go down the hallway to our room, however, the hallway was very dark. We expected the overhead lights to automatically come on, as occurs in other hotels. That did not happen. We walked down the hallway in near total darkness. We could not read the numbers on the rooms. We used the flashlight on our smart phone to find our room number. Only upon reaching our room did we see that there were light switches on the wall outside each room. Upon pressing the switch, the overhead hallway lights came on. There is no sign telling you to press the buttons outside a room to illuminate your way down the hallway, which would be very helpful to guests. Upon entering the room, we found it to be clean and nicely decorated. It was, however, extremely hot inside. The sun blazed in the windows. We turned on the air conditioner, which was anemic at best. We asked for a new room. We were graciously given a new room on the opposite side of the hotel, away from the blazing sun. It was also clean but it had an identical anemic air conditioner. The advantage to this room, besides the sun not coming in the windows, was that it was smaller (less volume to cool) and the air conditioner was right over the bed. It was definitely cooler than the first room, but we were very uncomfortable during the night due to the warm, humid temperature of the room.
Hotel provided courtesy pickup at airporrt room was ready and we were happy to drop into bed. Room was large, quiet and comfy.
Space in room, friendly staff, free WiFi, free parking, close to ferry terminal and city centre
Need to ask for a boiler, should be one in every room! Beds had rolls, so it was a little uncomfortable cause beds rolled away
The price was excellent. Clean, free covered parking. Free wi-fi. Close to the port & ferry - so many food options for dinner. (the food trucks all come to the parking lot at the port every night)
Not near a beach. The area of town is a little sketchy. Strange air conditioning units on our balcony.
Staff were very helpful at our late night check-in. The room was surprisingly large with a polished hardwood floor. Nice sized bathroom, everything worked. Good bed and thus a good night's sleep. The breakfast was very nice, with a French bias. Would I stay here again, yes.
Papeete appears somewhat faded, and needs sprucing up. This hotel is not in the centre of Town, but in a slightly industrial area. There is no steel plant, nor chemical works next door, but it is a quiet industrial area. Having said that, it's a reasonable priced hotel for Papeete.
Great location, large room, good air conditioning, nice bathroom
Slow service at desk, no safe in rooms, instant coffee in rooms (brewed coffee available in breakfast lounge)
hotel staff was nice, and gave some good recommendations. it was great that they had free wifi (good connection too), since it was a bit hard to get wifi in tahiti
we were heading to the cruise (and so were a lot of guests), so the front desk was under staffed for check out in the morning.
All was fine in this hotel with kind people and nice opportunities to negotiate whatever you like during your stay.
Room was actually pretty nice, modern, clean. AC could've been a little better. Breakfast was pretty good for the price (expensive by US standards but cheaper than many in FP)
I couldn't get response from request for airport p.u. until just a few days before our arrival, they said they had us for pick up, when we arrived, the woman at the airport knew nothing about us. To their credit, she did get us a special shuttle rather than making us wait for the next plane, which was her original idea. Escort to our room with a security guard a bit offputting, and it was in a rather industrial looking neighborhood, no shops, markets visible nearby.
i was truly impressed by politeness of the staff and also their service. The Wifi connection broke down vey often at the hotel and the connection was not stable enough. In spite of this problem, the staff noticed the problem immediately and tried to solve it as hard as they could. Moreover, the location of the hotel was great, very close to anything in the city center of Papeete. And easy to walk on foot or to reach the ferries, all within 10 mins or 15 maximum.
Wifi was not the best but it was understandable since Internet isn't cheap in this country in general.
Beds were very comfortable.
Cost for breakfast at hotel was highway robbery. Cost between USD15-18 per person for toast, hard boiled eggs and a little fresh fruit.
The view was good if your didn't look at the area around the hotel
One of our party was I jured due to the poor condition of the floor boards and the staff where more. On earned about the room. Not the the injury and we where expected to administer first aid. Not the staff. Not enough cups in the room, the fridge didn't work.
Nice spot Close to everything Great airport pickup
Convenient to cruise dock
Seedy part of downtown
ROOMS NOT WHAT WAS PROMISED. LOCATION IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INDUSTRIAL AREA. ROOMS NOT SAFE OR SECURE.
The balcony: great view, comfortable table & stools. The front desk staff were pleasant & very helpful.
Nice room, helpfull emploees
Bad wifi connection in the corner of building
-good, modern facilitys. -genuinly friendly staff. Many thanks again Hironui!!!
-bit hard to find the location.
The location. We were given a better room than the one we reserved
There was nothing we didnt like
The best part of this hotel is it's free shuttle from the airport and then it's proximitiy to the ferry terminal.
Staff at night was a bit disgruntled, the wifi was broken the night we arrived (working in the morning!), the hotel offered to take us to the ferry for 20? dollars? But it was a 5 minute walk or less, so we just walked.
Compared to other hotels in the area which are mostly a rip off, Sara Nui has a reasoanble rate. It is a kind and relaxing place to stay.
To get the news, there is only one English channel and that one is the CNN which is very bad for guests who would like to know what is going on in the world.
