Score from 38 reviews Very good
Hotel is fine for checking out Papeete, if a little expensive. We had a suite with a kitchen which was good with small kids so we could get our own cereal for breakfast (service station with groceries right next door) or dinner from the vans. Plenty of space, bath for kids, helpful booking early morning taxi.
Great location for pre/post cruise.
Breakfast buffet wildly overpriced. Go to a cafe.
Location Room decor Beautiful atrium Room decor
No wi fi in room No ice on floors A/C had problems in room and had to move
Excellent living space in the junior suite, comfortable bed, kitchenette very convenient
chipped cups - throw them out and buy new ones
Location in town is remote; requested a mountain view after reading other reviews that it would be less noisy. Still awaked by roosters early in the morning. From the airport the taxi fare is 2190 per trip NOT per passenger. The rates are posted still discuss it with the driver BEFORE getting in the taxi or they will cheat you
In the rooms in the front the highway was very noisey
It's central location, the friendly staff which is normal for Tahitians anyway. The atmosphere in the "Velvet" restaurant was pleasant. Free car parking.
Sparsely furnished hotel devoid of any welcoming cosy feeling. Badly designed, dangerous and disproportionately tiny bathroom in a huge Junior suite. One tea bag (Not even normal tea) in room and unavailability of more. Broken Coffee table, lack of sufficient utensils for two in large kitchen. Bad or lack of lighting in bathrooms. Complete lack of maintenance in general in the hotel and particularly at the Pool with warped planks with screws sticking up round the pool, no supervision, refreshment, towels or parasols, missing and broken tiles in pool. A handful of tired deck-chairs. Food in Velvet Restaurant poor and over priced. Service inconsistent at best. Staff in general need training. Only Wifi in foyer (free) which worked adequately.
Our suite had a large bedroom and adjoining lounge/kitchenette with balcony overlooking part of the city and the hills behind. Hotel Nui is located handily for the town and the harbour for transfer to cruises. The restaurant a must for dinner but not for breakfast.
The hotel is a bit gloomy in the interior particularly the entrance foyer, which looks as though it is awaiting a big crowd which never turns up. The staff is minimal; typically one lady on reception but no porter in evidence. Do not try to get room service cos it's not there. Minimal tea and coffee facilities and no minibar. Visit the handy shop in the gas station next door for your snacks and croissants.
We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Staff were friendly and helpful. They loaned the correct electrical plug for my curling iron and let me take it to one of the outer islands and return it the following week. The facilities are air conditioned, modern and spacious with the added bonus of a kitchen. We stayed in a Junior suit. The hotel has a swimming pool, spa facilities, restaurant and bar and all within 5 minutes walking distance to central Papeete. We would definitely stay here again.
The shower placement over the back of the bath and the shower head style makes it difficult to use. Water splashes everywhere and staying with the bathroom, it was strange that there wasn't anywhere to place the soap at the hand basin. A little soap dish by the basin would help because you had to either leave the wet soap in the basin or you put it on the counter which makes a mess. Don't assume there's a microwave because there isn't one and there are no dish cloths or tea towels. This mightn't be important to many but it's important to those of us who like to prepare breakfast or light snacks
Can walk to the wharf to get on a ship
Dark corridors - hard to see room numbers
Location. Excellent restaurant
Lack of dishes and utensils despite there being a full sized oven. Not even a cloth to wipe down bench.
This is a perfect hotel for stays in Papeete town. I come in and fly out next day to Mo'orea every year, so this is perfect as it is close to ferry and not far from airport. Rooms are very nice and spacious. Staff is courteous and friendly.
The design of showers makes for water everywhere for tall people like myself.
The décor in the room. Proximity to ferry service and docks.
Nobody to help with baggage at all. Nobody to take you to your room & explain things. Dark in lobby & all corridors. No room service menu offered in room. Luggage storage not tagged or receipts given. Front rooms have heavy traffic noise. Would not recommend young girls walking at night here.
Great kitchen but no cooking utensils or tea towels etc.
Great location, easy to to walk to the main city for shopping, restaurants and the wharf. The bar on level 2 was nice and the pool was usually always deserted which i liked. Clean, modern and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.
Poor lighting at night, once you get out of the lifts on to your floor and in the bathroom. There was also obvious renovation/water damage repairs in the room -not too major and doesn't effect usage just unsightly. Wifi only in reception is a lil annoying but guess you can't really expect much on an island…?
close to ferry terminal
-smelly room -window lock was broken -very poor breakfast quality
Two A/C units in my suit kept us nice and cool. A large comfortable suit with everything you need. The free wifi in the lobby was nice. A great location close to shopping and the waterfront. Very friendly staff and someone was always cleaning something busy and productive staff.
The pool was not as nice in the hotel pictures but it worked just fine.
Great location within walking distance to Ferry Dock, Town Centre, and Food Vans. Rooms very clean and spacious with a comfy bed and large bathroom. Staff always very helpful, nice and polite. Free Wifi.
Free Wifi only in the Lobby. Breakfast very ordinary & overpriced.
We had a late flight back to LA and had to kill 12hr after check-out. The hotel staff was very accommodating in many ways. Free Wi-Fi, rare in this part of the word, and including after checkout, was especially appreciated.
Close to the ferry and downtown.
The hotel is dark and it was hard to find my hotel room door when I arrived in the evening. The bathroom was dark and not lit well. There were no wash cloths.
Rooms were nice, very clean and modern. Views were good. Staff was pleasant. Beds were comfortable. Balcony was nice.
Pool water was cold. Air near pool smelled like burning sewage. Congested downtown location. Generally was under-lit in room and especially public areas.
The location is good if you want to be right downtown. Convenient for walking.
Very dark hotel and it smelled really bad at the pool area. The neighborhood was a little rough.
nice staff large rooms good workout facility great location
no wi fi in rooms no day use rooms available
Noisy and dirty . I recommend go straight to the islands. Overpriced and dissapointing
Great rooms, spacious and comfortable
