Front desk staff outstanding.
Hotel is deteriorating. No sign of maintenance. Was obviously nice when it opened. Hot tub full of sand, and no sand nearby, so when was it ever cleaned ? If you don't wear shoes in your room your feet will be filthy. Shower in room is terrible.
Location - close to cruise terminal and airport Staff at front desk so very friendly and helpful and offered suggestions for tours, etc.
The rooms are too dark; Hallways are too dark; The 1st and 2nd rooms we were in were overwhelming bad because of the insect spray they use caused me to have a breathing problem; breakfast (continental) was way too expensive for what you got; wi-fi in lobby only even through web site says "in room"
Thanks to previous reviewers we requested a mountain-view room on 3rd or 4th floor. We received a 4th floor mountain-view corner room that was quiet and looked out to the city and mountains and, on one side, the deck overlooked the pool. The room was basic and clean, and a perfect location for our short stay prior to embarking on cruise ship.
If you like to shower with a wash cloth, bring your own as they don't have any. WiFi in room would have been nice but wasn't essential. Hotel restaurant and brunch very expensive - we ate breakfasts at Cafe Maeva (upstairs at the markets) and Cafe Retro in Vaima Center - both very good and reasonably priced. Supper was at the trucks on the pier - fun and very good food!
Location and Friendly staff
We had to book a mini suite to get a 3rd person as they claimed a standard room would not handle a 3 but found that a standard room had the same 3rd bed as the minisuite.
no wifi in the rooms only at the reception. the staff impolite. rooms are average.
Hotel within walking distance of downtown Papeete, the Market Place, shooping and some pubs. Air conditioning worked great in our junior suite, which was also spacious. Quiet rooms.
Shower doesn't have door or curtain, so lots of water ran out onto floor; rust stains on floor all around the tub and sink areas. No safe in room. No 110 outlets in room.Hotel doesn't have enough plug adapters for every room. We stayed 2 nights before our cruise &1 night after; couldn't get a plug adapter for either stay.Hotel needs some maintenance. Only wifi in lobby where air cond didn't work well.
Friendly staff, super location only blocks from roulottes, cruise pier, central market. Secure room access. Attractive pool deck.
No help finding rooms in dark, under-lit hallways. AC not turned on in anticipation of guests' arrival, so room was stiflingly hot for first day. Wifi worked only in lobby, only intermittently, and not at all for Samsung devices (several clients had this problem). Well-applianced kitchenette was useless because not fitted with cutlery, cooking pans, etc., although more were brought at our request.
The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Convenient location near to a lot of restraunts
The air conditioner in the room didn't work as well as i would have liked since I sleep with it very cool. Also the hallways where very dark.
Fantastic staff, very large room and balcony. Good location close to the pier and night food stands
Lovely decor. Great location. Very clean. Beautiful pool and outside area. Was able to use the pool and shower after checkout.
wifi only available from lobby not in your room. Shower was terrible.
Good restaurant at acceptable price Very helpful reception staff
Even though the hotel appears to have had a makerover, it still looks outdated. Breakfast with limited choise in a much too dark environment - not really "Tahiti-like"
Central CBD Walking distance to the port spacious and well appointed facilities
Pool area could do with a little TLC
Keola from the front desk & staff were excellent. Highly recommended to everyone who visits Tahiti ! I will always continue to be a guest at Hotel Tahiti Nui !! Mahalo, Wendy & Jose Tablada
The hotel looks modern and the room (junior suite) was a good size and had all that we needed. Good location, close to the city. Staff were very helpful and spoke excellent english. Free WiFi in the lobby.
Starting to look a bit 'used': chipped tiles and wooden corners. Shower screen location allows for water to run directly onto the floor (flood!!). No WiFi in our room although I think there was cabled internet.
Beautiful décoration of roms' lovent parfum on rooms
Location was good , room really spacious and well equiped , great bed and staff very helpful
Breakfast in Chocalatte sub standard and way over priced Card keys did not work in the lift very well , had cards re programmed 6 times in three days
The room was large and the furniture comfortable..
The staff at reception were not flexible, I was chasing a late checkout for 15.00 and they wanted to charge me FPF10,000 for 3 hours Poor TV Channel selection
We loved the shops and the service station just next door, easy access to everything downtown.
Staff not overly friendly, just going through the motion, our room needed maintenance with walls peeling etc, and the attitude of the house keeper when I requested milk was extremely rude. It is not supplied with the tea/coffee.
Great location if you want to be downtown.
Hotel Hallways very dark at night..
Keola from the front desk was very helpful. We love the location!!
I did not know I had to exchange my money for new money. I had to stay an extra day.
Location near ferry & roulottes was excellent. Room was sleek, clean and modern. Not a resort, no "Polynesian touches", but a nice upscale property to overnight at on Tahiti.
Dark hallways make you feel a bit nervous.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The location was convenient to the cruise ship dock and given the limited attractions in the city of Papeete quite good. Now that I know what Papeete is like I would stay in a resort before/after a cruise and bite the bullet on the higher cost for accommodation and meals.
The unexpected kitchenette was only half equipped, no microwave or toaster, limited dishes, utensils and glasses, and nothing to wipe off the counter or dry anything. Insufficient light in the bathroom and the air conditioning didn't cool either the bathroom or toilet room. There were no counter stools, only chairs that weren't useable to sit at the counter. No wash cloths were provided or available. Couldn't connect to the internet using a Microsoft tablet, which has worked many places around the world without a problem.
No body to help with the luggage and had to do it all ourselves, even had to use the luggage cart ourselves. Also they would not store our luggage for a night, ver poor attitude of the director who did not speak to us.
Location, good staff, nice rooms
Noisy street, dark rooms, VERY dark hallways
The staff was very helpful and courteous as we arrived at 6 am and obviously the room was not available. The staff said we could use the spa area to shower and change, which was very nice after a long flight.
I lost my pink sketcher tennis shoe there (just one shoe). I was really hoping they would have it after my 2 week cruise.
