- one can see that the property is in need of repairs. - The shower/toilet in the pool/wellness area was not very clean.
- our room was at the rear of the property and was as a result very quite. - Bathtub was big and comfortable. - We had a junior suite which was nice and large. - The bed and pillows were excellent.
It was all good but here are a few minor suggestions: more lighting in the bathroom, a mirror outside of the bathroom, dish towel and bowls in kitchen. That's it. Enjoy your stay!
The hotel design is modern. The atrium center is open to the sky for natural light (darkness at night) and rain - brilliant. Decor is also modern with dark wood, nice colors, open spaces, and large fresh fragrant floral arrangement in the lobby. Staff were welcoming and helpful and efficient at check in/out. Junior suite 515 with inland views and kitchenette was spacious, quiet, very clean, and well appointed (with a few minor suggestions). Wifi in lobby was free and reliable. Security elevator operated by keycards. Cameras on floor exits. Peep holes and bolt locks in door. Never disturbed when sign on door knob. Two working A/C units and hot water. No complaints during my 5-day Saturday-Thursday stay. It was lovely. Also, very convenient food mart at gas station next door frequented by locals; only a few blocks from waterfront food trucks or market or church; shops, restaurants, and/or bars a plenty.
The food is very expensive for what it is - breakfast especially looked very disappointing. Better off heading out to a café or similar, where you'll get better food for half the price.
The pool is great, excellent to hang out in to escape the heat of the city. Overall the rooms are great value for money - handy location, perfect for a short layover when travelling on to other islands (if you don't want to fork out for a resort for just an overnight stay).
A little bit of peeling paint in the bathroom and the curtains were missing a few hooks. No real complaints at all.
Used the hotel for a "day room" at the end of a cruise. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We stored luggage while we went on a hike and when we came back, our room was ready before checkin time. Huge, clean room with everything we needed. You are close to the cruise port (we walked from the boat), the market, shops and many restaurants. It may not be the Ritz but, come on, it's a great place for a couple of days in Papeete!!
Trouble getting many of the lights to go on. Found one of the circuit breaker circuits turned off, which controlled most of upstairs lighting. TV upstairs didn't work
Restaurant open for dinner excellent and innovative
Our value for money. Hallways were dark. It was lighted so poorly we had. Difficult time getting the key in the door.
Location and staff
Came in at night and the halls were not lit.
First thing we did was clean the a/c filter.
The restaurant is average, with price/quality ratio below average (even considering tahiti prices in general). Street noise was present in the 4th floor but did not disturb sleeping.
We stayed here between our visit to other Society Island and return to home. The hotel is conveniently located for visiting Papeete. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself may be suitable for a longer stay as well but you probably do not need more than a day to explore Papeete.
The shower in the bathroom is the worst design we have ever seen!! No wi-fi in the room.
The location, very spacious
There are no lights in the hallways at night because the staff told me they are trying to save money, I could barely find my room it was so dark. Lay out of suite is pretty bad
The suite was large
Not the best part of town, difficult to find a place to eat. Too expensive for the type of property. walls in room needed repair.
short trip to ferry terminal. Room was air conditioned
We were cheated by Booking .com who charged us for 2 nights at the price of a junior suite even though we have modified the reservation to a double standard room !
Modern and clean room and good location . Room facing the mountains are quiet .
Breakfast is expensive and very poor. Go to the local market instead.
Short walk to the port and food trucks.
no safes in rooms
We were able to get to almost everything by foot. The cruise port and the ferry were within walking distance, and to the downtown area.
The area around the hotel is quite faded. The corridors to get to your room are illuminated by weak blue downlighters. I should imagine that many women would find this very creepy and unsafe. Who chose those lights ?
Moreorless in the centre of Papeete. The road outside can be very noisy. The room was clean, everything worked, but I noticed that the outside of the windows had not been cleaned. Then I noticed that previous guests had been smoking in the room, leaving the sliding window open, throwing cigarette butts out onto the window box ( second floor) and noticed the scuff marks on the inside window cill presumably by male guests' trouser belts as they lean out of the window ! Why they bother I don't know, as there are no smoke detectors in the room. I didn't think there were ANY hotels that didn't not have smoke detectors nowadays.
No WiFi in room and very slow in lobby.
Downtown location; easy access to cruise ship dock.
Wifi poor and VERY expensive breakfast!
Situation near by Shell Boutique Market
great location for cruise ship terminal
Lighting in the pool changing room is so dim that finding the shampoo and shower gel may be difficult! The area needs proper upkeep. The pool plants need care and there are many missing tiles in the pool.
excellent location if you want to be in the centre of town. The room is large and comfortable. The place appears clean but it is dark and dimly lit.
Poor shower design with side panel not being long enough to block water from getting on the floor. Very slippery and messy. Wifi was poor
Staff was very nice and helpful within their limits.
Hotel is deteriorating. No sign of maintenance. Was obviously nice when it opened. Hot tub full of sand, and no sand nearby, so when was it ever cleaned ? If you don't wear shoes in your room your feet will be filthy. Shower in room is terrible.
Front desk staff outstanding.
The rooms are too dark; Hallways are too dark; The 1st and 2nd rooms we were in were overwhelming bad because of the insect spray they use caused me to have a breathing problem; breakfast (continental) was way too expensive for what you got; wi-fi in lobby only even through web site says "in room"
Location - close to cruise terminal and airport Staff at front desk so very friendly and helpful and offered suggestions for tours, etc.
If you like to shower with a wash cloth, bring your own as they don't have any. WiFi in room would have been nice but wasn't essential. Hotel restaurant and brunch very expensive - we ate breakfasts at Cafe Maeva (upstairs at the markets) and Cafe Retro in Vaima Center - both very good and reasonably priced. Supper was at the trucks on the pier - fun and very good food!
Thanks to previous reviewers we requested a mountain-view room on 3rd or 4th floor. We received a 4th floor mountain-view corner room that was quiet and looked out to the city and mountains and, on one side, the deck overlooked the pool. The room was basic and clean, and a perfect location for our short stay prior to embarking on cruise ship.
We had to book a mini suite to get a 3rd person as they claimed a standard room would not handle a 3 but found that a standard room had the same 3rd bed as the minisuite.
Location and Friendly staff
no wifi in the rooms only at the reception. the staff impolite. rooms are average.
