Hotel Tahiti Nui (大溪地酒店)  

The hotel was a couple of blocks from the pier where the Paul Gauguin docks (Quai de Paquebots). There was a mini-mart right next door to the hotel where you could buy snacks, etc.

There was noise outside our room (#405) made by young motorcyclists who were racing up and down the street, egged on by the families standing on their balconies in the apartment complex across the street. You should try to get a room on the other side of the hotel.

Location.Close to eveything in Papeete. Big and confortable rooms.

Rooms beside main avenue are a bit noisy, but not so much.

Hotel could be anywhere - little to remind one one is in Tahiti. Second floor pool in complete shade from mid-afternoon onwards. Little/no response from hotel manager to questions/requests prior to arrival.

Bathroom - floor flooded while showering due to poor design and no shower curtain - hopeless!

Staff were pleasant and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite.

The suits are on two levels. The first floor has a kitchen and large sitting area. The bathroom and sleeping loft are on the second level. Not good for someone who has mobility issues. Breakfast is expensive.

within walking distance to the cruise ship. Food available at convience store in shell station next door. Allowed us to store luggage after check out for midnight flight

Staff, handy city location

The room was clean, quite modern, and comfortable. Very European feel.

Breakfast buffet was good but was overpriced.

Convenient to the cruise ships, which was our reason for being there at all. Room was modern and large, bed nice, the shower eqt "strange". A/C worked well.

This is a once pretty nice hotel that is in decline. they are saving money by not turning on the lights. The common areas are like a cave -- very dark. The lobby uses A/C only if it has to. Our room was on the street side, and the street is a main PPT drag: very noisey. A little pricey for what it was, and food facilities expensive.

The staff are not very interested in the service.A Friend of ours left us a letter tueday noon to invite us for dinner and we never received the letter..After his call I went downstairs they had the letter but had not given it to us.The receptionist told us our friend should have called to tell us he had left a note for us.It's not possible to leave a message on the phone.Our friend who lives in Papeete called the manager and we never heard from him.It's a nice Hotel but would need better managing.

Hotel was nice and comfortable we were on the 6 floor and even though they had a dance party downstairs it was quiet.

A few things in the kitchen needed more cleaning. We were on our way to Moorea and booked two nights as we had a 1 AM arrival, the ferry to Moorea only runs morning to early evening and thought we might want an extra day to see Papeete. The city was not very nice, kind of third world, if I ever go back I would get out to one of the resorts on Tahiti or an outer island as soon as possible.

clean -- good facilities -- some staff very helpful -- has potential to be attractive if management would invest a bit more

spartan -- no entertainment -- no bellboys -- poor lighting -- depressing -- no English language programming on TV

the early check-in towel, shampoo and shower service for those of us who arrived before check-in time ... as a world traveler I have never experienced this previously and it was a perfect welcome to Tahiti ..

Easy and free internet access in business center; terrace

The air conditioner leaked badly. I mentioned the problem twice, the housekeeper saw the trash can collecting water everyday, and yet for four days, nothing was done to fix this problem. I would not recommend that anyone stay at this hotel because of this poor response to a major problem in my room.

Staff was friendly and switched to English as soon as they realized we didn't speak French. Located close to pier, ferry, cruise ship, and downtown. VERY convenient. Room was modern and stylish.

Loud Disco music late at night. Not a fan of the dark 'black on black' look of the lobby... sort of depressing.

The hotel is in a good location close to the town, docks and roulettes. It is clean and modern and the staff were friendly and helpful. It is a good place for a stopover in Papeete.

We stayed on two occasions in a standard room and a junior suite. The standard room was fine. The suite was a bit noisy at night (it was a saturday and there was a lot of noise outside). The bathroom in the suite was poorly designed and difficult to use.
