The room doesn't come with air conditioning and also a TV. The staircase is too high to climb makes us make sure that we go out once and come back by end of the day to avoid the climb. Also the lighting during night is too dark though we are provided with torchlight. the alley is too far from the main road.
The access to the private beach and also the privacy

Nothing! We didn't like that we couldn't stay longer!
Balinghai Resort is an authentic little paradise! The bungalows are beautiful, the private beach is amazing and the service is top notch!!!

We loved everything about this place. Nice private beach, beautiful room with bathroom, good food and very helpful staff. Yes, it is aprox 15-20 minutes by tricycle from White Beach but it is more relaxing to stay at Balinghai Beach (which is much better than overcrowded White Beach in our opinion). You can order food to the room or to the bar at the beach. Highly recommended!!

The beach is small - which is excellent. However people from outside hotels are able to use it in the day time. This ruins the peace to be honest as the beach becomes overrun. The point of going to balinghai is to have silence.
Beautiful - secluded - mostly peaceful The staff are wonderful The views are breathtaking

We booked 2 rooms, we were given the bat house and the hill house. The bat house's bathroom is not completely closed. There is a tree going through it and many other parts are left open. This caused A LOT of ants and insects to get into the room. We couldn't use the bat house. Would recommend getting the hill house. The resort is on a steep hill, and the stairs are dangerous at night. If your plan is to stay near the white beach area, this is not the place. its around 20-25 minutes with a tricycle.
Has its on secluded beach. The area is private. Every house has its own pathway. Personnel were nice and helpful. The views from the room were awesome.

nothing. would be perfect if all rooms have unblocked sea view, but it might hurt some trees.. :(
the houses themselves are gems hidden in the jungle around Balinghai. I like the wooden traditional local favour of the design, and it's eco-friendly. private beach although a bit small. Lovely rooms, clean, and good sea view, but some rooms' view are a bit blocked by the luxuriant tress, but the trees are what make this place a wonderful garden. Staff and the owner are super nice.

We loved most everything about this hidden gem. The location -- off the beaten path; the place's style -- rustic and natural yet comfortable and cool; the staff -- so great and helpful. Afraid to go on that it won't stay hidden...

The location, defintely... isolated from the crowdy White beach band. One of the last place, if not the last place in Boracay where you can be in harmony with the nature + private beach and a great view from the villas.

LOTS of broken glass on the beach, and the staff's associated laissez-faire attitude.
Attentive staff, great value, tasty food. A dream location with fantastic views, and a romantic atmosphere.

If we had 1 thing we could put on the improve list, we would mention the following: - more local food on the menu
The sunsets are amazing each and every day and Balinghai is renowned as one of the very best sunset spots on the island. This is a dream destination and far exceeded our expectations, we will definitely be returning!

For a hotel which is on the more expensive list, I find it a bit disappointing that there is no pick up from the Boracay ferry terminal, not even if paid for. We had never been to Boracay before so we did not know what to expect. Pick up from the airport seems to be possible but it costs extra. It also is a bit sad that the beautiful beach bar closes at 8pm. The hotel has a private beach so no other bars are there and as the hotels location is far away from the main beaches/ bars this leaves you sitting alone in the dark at 8pm - I think 10pm would be much more reasonable at least in the main season. One advise: if you have problems with bugs/ spiders/ other insects except the usual mosquitos, make sure you book the air conditioned houses cause they are the only ones which are fully enclosed rooms. All the others are open to the nature, including their bathrooms which does attract a lot of smaller to medium sized bugs/ spiders/ insects/ etc.
It really was wonderful to stay at Balinghai. The individual houses are all nice and in good condition and all of them have amazing views over the beach. The beach bar has friendly Staff and good food/ drinks for reasonabke prices. The beach itself is very, very beautiful and compared to the over crowded main beaches its a small, relaxing paradise. The Hotel Staff is very friendly and helpful with pretty much any request you might have. Thank you for the wonderful vacation!! :)

1-you need to get through village and 10 min way every time you go to white beach but its ok 2-the unbelievable thing was that morning at 6.45am when we heard VERY loud awfull electro music (very loud like on disco so that we could not believe our ears when we woke up) after that we called to reception to find out which neighbours gone crazy at 6.45 in the morning, but polite girl on reception told us that the hotel stuff has begun celebrating CRISTHMAS !!!! (7-8/12) and they will have party the whole day! We could not believe such situation! Other words they pushed us out of the hotel as we could not be there no more. After that while the day we sailed on boat to that beach and sow stuff swimming on private beach and drinking as I understand. 3. Last 3 nights they forgot about us and did not clean our room, no clean bed and so on, knowing the specific of these suits (2 level houses) with open windows- some pices of dirty earth got to our bed through that windows (as the room situated on the rock) . Actually because of that my girfriend had some dermatologic problems then. 4- you must be ready to climb to your room and from it to reception. if you have some problems with legs or else- do not choose this hotel. 5- no hairdryer
view and opportunity of dinner while sunset on private beach i would recommend it for 1-2 nights- no more

Nothing... WiFi worked well in our cottage.
Everything was just perfect and most romantic. We stayed in the BatHouse, which was a large cottage, with big bed and muskito net. The view from both bedroom and bathroom was amazing. Room was very clean and quite, with hot shower and clean towels everyday. Our cottage even had its own veranda, where they can, upon request, serve all their food and drinks as well. Beach (private) was very quite and beautiful, with nice bar and friendly staff. Even WiFi on the beach. The touristic centre is only a 5 minute tricycle ride away (100p during the day and 150p during the evening). Should we go back to Boracay, we will definitely stay here again.

remote cove, nice hotel, away from all the tourists, lovely atmosphere, beautiful rooms with nice view, highly recommend staying there 2-3 nights

I wanted some relaxation and peace and quiet, and I got all of that and more. The room was beautiful, with stunning views of the crystal clear ocean, even from the bathroom! I loved the little veranda with the daybeds to relax on, and it was such a short walk to the gorgeous little private beach that I could go whenever I wanted and come back to chill in privacy. The staff were very welcoming and were so friendly the whole time I was there, and if you had any questions or problems they were a great help. The food was also great, particularly as you didn't even have to leave your room to have some food sent to you. Overall, it was perfect and I will definitely be returning in the near future!

The journey to this hidden gem is challenging, but i dont wanna make fuss about it because the place is very worth it..
The open verandah towards the seaside, located at the hilly side among tropical trees. I had breakfast and dinner at the verandah..so mesmerising The bed facing through the window looking to the sea Having shower and facing to the seaside looking at the blue clear water. The sound of wave and small private beach suitable for heartbroke men to recover:)

Quit and peaceful place to rest and recover.

If we had 3 things we could put on the improve list, we would mention the following: - stock ice cream - get more comfy chairs in dining areas - lower ring tone on staff phone in bar
Balinghai was everything we dreamed, wished and hoped for and more. It was exactly what we wanted on our last vacation but couldn't find. A tropical rainforest hideaway with crystal clear turquoise water coves and powder white sand, along with the friendliest staff and great food, big rooms built in traditional style where even the bathroom boasts a magnificent view! Looking at the resort from the outside you would hardly know it was there, it is that hidden from view and therefore gives you all the privacy you want, but still allowing you the view outwards. The rooms are large and all have great views, we stayed in the Hill House which is the closest room to the beach with it's own path leading directly in to the water, excellent way to start each morning. There is a separate floor beneath your room with a large patio area with daybeds where each morning you will find a thermos with hot water for your tea of coffee. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be ordered anywhere you like, to your room/patio, to the upstairs seating area or down by the beach. As the resort is set in a steep cliffside, an ingenious pulley system is put in place to send food between the kitchen at the top and the beach below. Nothing is too big a task for the staff and this friendly family run hotel is a delight to stay in. There are kayaks to paddle around in, and floating pontoons set up to swim out to, as well as lots of reef around, only thing is there is very little fish to be seen anywhere, shame as the water is as clear as crystal glass. We did however see a turtle while we were kayaking around to the next resort which was amazing! The sunsets are amazing each and every day and Balinghai is renowned as one of the very best sunset spots on the island. This is a dream destination and far exceeded our expectations, we will definitely be returning!

beach sand was rough, all for money, eventhough we din open the water
April 11, 2014
However, it is quite far from the jetty port - after flying from Manila to Kalibo, a 2hr bus ride, and a boat ride, the 30 minute journey from the port isn't too much extra but getting back into the main area of the island takes time later in the day.
This is an amazing, secluded hotel/resort. Private, intimate, spectacular views. Lovely food, attentive staff, and an idyllic location.

Wifi was claimed, but the Hill House was out of range of the wifi signal. I could get wifi only at the top of the hill next to the lobby. For international travellers, it matters, because a lot of expense is accumulated by communicating on roaming.
It was a dream. It was a house on a steep hill covered with tropical trees, with paths leading down to a private beach. Fresh fruit drinks were served from the beach bar, the meals that were cooked at the top of the hill and lowered down to the bottom in a basket from a rope and pulley. Not far from the beach is a cave, that you would discover only when you explore, with birds that acted like bats, and it is the perfect place to make love, if you bring a blanket in a bag.
