cool atmosphare with nice roof top patio
everything is a bit old already, would need to be renovated
Very engaging reception staff--- always felt welcome. Helpful too with directions, etc Gave me another mattress when one I had was uncomfortable. Nice rooftop area for wifi, meals and hanging out.
Bed was very uncomfortable.... Staff helped with this.
View from the rooftop terrace. Fellow travelers.
1) First, they forgot to pick us up from the airport even though I reminded them 3 times in advance that we were coming. When landed at the airport they did not answer the phone either. When we arrived to the Mansion in tricycle and asked what happened, the girl at the reception didn't seem to care to explain at all, didn't even apologize. 2) The room had a very strong smell of mold. Don't expect any towels or toilet paper inside the room either. Extremely basic and worn out place. 3) Finally we ordered a dinner at the rooftop restaurant. After waiting for literally 1h we asked if the food was going to finally come. The answer was that they forget about our order, but since now they had many other orders told us to wait for another hour. Since it was already 9pm and we were very hungry, we got really upset. We cancelled the order, took a tricycle and went to eat in the city downtown. 4) There was information in the lobby that there was a free Philippino breakfast included in the room rate. Great! In the morning it turned out that the only things that were free were toasts and sticky rice. I haven't seen any Philippino eating only that for breakfast.
Rooftop bar, excursion to Apo Island
Rooms could be cleaned more often in case of longer stay
The fact there was free water and occasional internet. They offer free breakfast but it was limited and ran out by 8am!
I have never stayed somewhere where it became a mission to make staff smile and get them to stop playing on their phone long enough to take my order. Advice would be good not just advice about their tours and a strop if you want to do something slightly different - it was a real shock!
Very good double room with King size bed. Day Tour to Apo Island was well arrangement with vehicle and boat including dive equipment and experience instructiors.
Not clean and offensive smell in Dormitary.
Second floor room quiet after I got no sleep previous night on third floor
First night no sleep because of noise from restaurant on fourth floor Dumacate is a very noisy and polluted town because of traffic
Value of money for A Family
I think they must upgrade their rating when it comes to cleanlines and also the staff especially in the restaurant area must be more cordial and welcoming.
the smiling face of the harolds staff.
the poor internet connection at 3rd. floor
I requested for an airport transfer from a girl named maricel via phone only to find out that she did not make any request. We just have to be resourceful to get out of the airport. Every single day in that hotel, we met problems in our rooms.
room is value for money affordable, clean, big
wi-fi was available only at the lobby and roofdeck rooms none, staff is not customer friendly in terms of information about ur amenities, staff must be polite n courteous n must have smiling face
Restaurant and terrace on the top
We had a reservation for a room with AC, bathroom and TV. When we arrived at the guesthouse, only fan with shared bathroom was available. The only explanation we received was that they didn't update Booking.
Nice restaurant, tasty and cheap food Near the port Free water
Doors and bathroom need repair. Bugs on the room floor and on the sheets... Far from the center.
in rm 213 the shower need repair
free water breakfast included great staff, accommodating and friendly comfortable rooms free use of computer in the reception area cozy on the rooftop convenient location as a tour guide,i will bring my clients there again.
they should add male staff because when something goes wrong with the facilities, women cannot easily fixed it.but nevertheless they were accommodating and helpful.
Harold's mansion has wonderful staff, free breakfast, abd a great location. Book and enjoy any activity through them
I like the location since it's close to Silliman and downtown. It is very cheap and the staff were friendly.
The water from the shower was not strong enough, the toilet paper holder was not working and there was no telephone inside the room. Although my room was quiet, my sons' room was noisy, they said.
I can't say enough good things about Harold's Mansion! Every staff member from reception, bar, the dive shop, security...especially Harold, was so friendly and helpful. No better place to eat, sleep or dive in Dumaguete.
I really didn't like leaving. Can't wait to return!
Roof top area and the free beverages
No towels and soap
- Welcoming staff - Cheap and tasty food - Diving school on place - Relaxing and stunning rooftop area
- Too much of jalapenos in the Fish Kinilaw, but sooo good with less ;)
Our stay was comfortable. Staff were nice and attentive.
I just hope they had tables and chairs. They room we occupied has none of those. Breakfast was good but we're expecting it to be "a Breakfast food"
My boyfriend and I booked there for the tour packages they offer. I was hesitant at first because their room was cheap, yet they still offer breakfast but still I booked. With the rooms, they are actually quite ok, the linens were fresh, the AC is working well, there is cable television, and hot and cold shower. Their breakfast, were the traditional puto and filipino pandesal with coffee which were ok for me too. The big pro really of tHarold's Mansion was the tour to twin lakes and casaroro falls, it was cheap for 800 each gud for 4persons, but my boyfriend and I felt like if it was with another host it couldve cost us much more. We had a lot of memories with us, plus the driver who took us there was very good and kind, on our way to our destinations, he would usually stop the car so we can takE pictures and he would even take the photo for us. When we stopped at Harold's ecolodge after our trek to the casaroro falls, the care takers were kind enough to prepare snacks for us for free, and not only that he also took us to the redrock hotspring ,so 800 for 3 destinations in one day is quite a good deal already, with snacks, fruits, and transportation.
aside from the driver who took us to the tour, Nova the receptionist on afternoon shift and the guy who opens the door for us, the other staffs were a little bit terrible. When asked about some informations like what to see in dumaguete, other tours, or where to buy something, they don't have any clue. I dont know if they know the place that well or are they really that tired for their shift to atleast squeeze out some informations or ideas to atleast try answering their guests queries.
Good location just stayed over night
restaurant menue and food on roof top
no regular cleaning mostly no wifi/internet
