The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and does everything to make every wish come true!
The freshly baked potato bread in the mornings at breakfast was a nice start to the day. The location is great, as it's very quiet and away from the busier backpacker scene but only a 10-min. walk to most restaurants.
It took 3-4 days to have the room cleaned after we arrived, which was a bit of a pain as there was a lot of sand in the room from the beach. The Wi-Fi was only available (sometimes) in the dining area, and not in the rooms.
location is good
cold water in the bath that was not fix for 2 days. no front desk at night, only a guard that can't do nothing beside give the keys. POOR value for the money regarding to the facility.
breakfast was ok
-Rude, unprofessional staff -Rip-off as they refused to give me the tours that were supposed to be included in the booking and charged me for them!
Poor breakfast and cleanliness. They charge you an extra 8% on top of the agreed booking.com price unless you pay them in cash.
Old soaps lying around, toilet door cannot be locked (or closed even), mosquito net with holes, dusty and very small wardrobe
it has a mini road for tricicles right in front of the sea side room, so it is noisy. Also, the fourniture is super old, same as the toilets. Needs a renovation.
Great Location Great Price
Some rude staff
We have arrived at the evening and get notice that they forget to make reservation for our two rooms we have booked. They do t know about our booking. First they wanted us to give us two rooms in their partner hotel. But this was so bad, that we insisted to get room where we have booked. After some time, they give us one room instead of two rooms. But for the first night we accepted. Next morning, after having no electricity to tke shower we decided to leave that place and find a nice hotel nearby. The hotel is old, the rooms are old. The location is close to the sea, but in El Nido it is not to swim close to town. ( this is at all hotel in town the same). The team there could not handle with the problems. El Nido has only electricity from 6 p.m. till 2.00 a.m. but nobody told us, and the complex where we had our room had also burn out between 7 p.m. and 9. p.m. Other new hotel have generator to produce electricity at there own. we had good das in El Nido, but not in that hotel. Never ever more again.
Location is really good, view around the hotel is excellent. The hotel is close to a beach, at night, there are several seaside bars which go on till 3am. We had drinks by seaside near a bar(can't really remember the name), it was pleasant even though the price is around 4GBP for a drink, not very cheap...but overall speaking, this hotel has a good view and their own garden is also nice too...
However...we has a very bad experience with the hotel staff and extremely disappointed with their management and arrangement. We had only one night to stay in the hotel and arrived at El Nido at 10.30pm, the hotel staff had gone home, a guard with little English gave us the key, and took us to a family room without good garden view at the side(which is not exactly what we have ordered on Bookings.com, room picture is not the same as the actual room). We guessed maybe it is because the hotel is really full and there is a large group occupied the majority of the hotel, so they d disappoint us (coz we only booked one room for one night) instead of disappointing the others. We think the standards doesn't justify the price we paid which is close to 80pounds worth of Philippins peso...we were unhappy, and no one there to give us an reasonable answer...manager doesn't wan to see us and they asked us to go and check other hotels but refused to check for us...we had a large suitcase, in my opinion it is not our responsibility to check since they don't have the correct room and disappointed us first...? At the end we ended up staying here since everywhere else is full...Next morning, we have to leave early for a tour booked by ourselves, finally one person at the reception is able to help us, and said: mam, actually, the room price includes also a free island hopping tour(which was NOT stated anywhere in the Booking.com website...?) and then they said: mam, actually, tjhe room price also includes a free breakfast ( which on Booking.com, clearly it says NO meal option is available, and no where mentioned anything about breakfast...?) we were disappointed again, but finally after a 20 mins negotiation, they agreed to give us a discount of -1000 Philippines peso...so in total we still paid for around 60GBP pounds for a night of dramas and disappointing events...
Horrible room Dirty Old, ran down No hot water No power outlet in the room It is not a 3 star property, it is not even 1 star!!! Overpriced, anyone should not pay more than 20$ per night here Breakfast menu is not available (i.e. no banana's)
I wasn't aware that there were tours included in our booking but the first morning we were there the staff brought it to our attention.
good location .
Don't expect too much for the money ...
The island tours were really good, and the hotel guides were excellent. All our tours were included in the room price, so the trip was very good value for money. Our room was very spacious and very clean. The breakfasts provided, and the lunches for the island trips, were also very good. We found all of the staff to be very helpful and that they worked very hard to make our stay a success; their advice and suggestions were always accurate. As well as the island tours we also took a trip inland which the staff arranged for us. The location was excellent and we were able to explore El Nido on foot as well. When we went further from the town centre, the staff were able to tell us how far our destination was and how much it would cost to get there. The hotel provided laundry at a small charge, and our clothes came back quickly. As with everywhere else in El Nido -- and as stated in the hotel's online description -- there is no electricity in the mornings, but this was no problem for us; taking the tours meant that we were busy anyway, and the lack of internet for a few hours a day seemed a small price to pay to be somewhere as remote and beautiful as El Nido. Overall we were both extremely happy with every aspect of our stay at Lally and Abet Beach Cottages, and would recommend the hotel without reservation.
El Nido is very beautiful, the views are amazing! The hotel is clean but basic (you have to understand most of the places in Palawan are basic,do not go there with the idea that you will find the type of 3-4 stars hotel that u are used to from Europe),great location. The personnel is amazing, especially the receptionist,Malou Seastres who is really helpful and nice, she will try to solve any inquiry you have and most of the times she will succeed. Also Arnold Lagartos(he will serve you at breakfast) is very very nice and polite. I also loved that in the price of the room,we had one boat trip included each and every day of our stay which is perfect as these tours are the main thing for El Nido.
The hotel is pretty basic as I said before,so if you want luxury, you won't be happy in most of the hotels in El Nido and, probably, you wont really like Palawan.
If I will ever become a film director, this place would be an ideal location for a horror movie.
Easy to respond since is absolutely nothing to like about this place.
the location at the further end prevents to much foot traffic
unfriendly and slow staff. the rooms are run down and noisy. breakfast is average and the service very slow und uncoordinated (I was served when my boyfriend had already finished his). Out of all the hotels we have been to on the Philippines this one was definetely the worst value for money.
The staff, the location, the garden
The water pressure, the wifi speed, the lack of electricity in the morning
The staff was accommodating, friendly and made us feel really welcome. Got a nice banana leaf hat as a gift from the staff Ms. Malou... They were so nice and accommodating in regards to our request
The island doesn't have electricity from 6 am - 2 pm, there were a few mosquitoes inside the room , got bit a few times while inside the room. We didn' t expect the room was a bit old....not much walking space inside the room and they could have provided a better dresse that doesn't wobble and no place to hang our clothes..just a dresser
All the tours in islands were inclusive in the room rate
At first they gave us a lausi room but change it the next day to a better one.
The staff and location were great. The island tours they operate are probably the best in El Nido
The property is getting on in years and probably the rooms need renovation. The power is off all day from early AM
