It has met my expectations for a budget accommodation. WiFi is good which is very important for me since I'm traveling for business as well. The staff are very friendly and hospitable. You'll feel like you're just visiting a relative / family member. They'll provide you information you need about Puerto Princesa or Palawan in general. I've seen as well that they provide assistance on tours, feel free to approach their staff. They will also assist you get a tricycle to go around the town. One unique thing about my visit is that I was able to try the very first craft beer of Palawan, Ayahay Beer by Palaweño Brewery, in which guests can avail at the lounge of Matutina Pensionne. Definitely a must-try!
Because I like watching television before I sleep, i just had a challenge using the remote control. Though it hasn't made my stay less likeable. I will definitely comeback.
Very friendly owners and staff. Quiet location.
As it was in a quiet residential part of the city other than the excellent Neva's restaurant on the same street it was a 10 to 15 minute walk along the noisy main street of the city to the nearest food outlets. The pensionne has no on site water storage and is dependent on the town supply, which at the time of my visit was imposing water cuts.
The proprietors are lovely people. The staff they employ is on the same level. No request is too big or too small. They TRUELY cater to your needs and were very helpful in every area, doing a great job to make our stay wonderful.
Great pension with large, clean rooms and very, very friendly and helpfull staff. Pefectly located near the centre of the city. Free wifi is available in the rooms and works very good. We definitelly recommend this place.
The staff are accommodating, the front desk personnel are very pleasant and responsive to our needs, and of course, with the best tasting brewed beer in town.
Rooms are spacious and clean. You should definetly try beer that is made by the hotel!
Due to some faliure, there was no running water in the shower, however this problem was solved on the last day of our stay.
Service: TINA and the rest of staffs were so friendly and we were fairly accomodated. The staffs are polite, and helpful enough when bein' asked. ROOM:The space was fairly nice, the environment was quiet enough that we had a good rest, except that the matresses are a bit too soft or "lundo or lubog" already, but it's tolerable. LOCATION: It's ok, since it was near on some of the city's prominent places, just walking distance at Plaza Cuartel and the Cathedral.
Just the matress, maybe it's time to change it for a new one, a new foam perhaps. =)
They have friendly & efficient staff. Malu is accommodating to our needs & booked our tours. Will refer this place to my friends. I love the ambience of the place, old ancestral house... just like home.
They served continental breakfast everyday, no other options. We almost missed our flight home, the van they contacted was late & we had to take 2 tricycles to the airport.
I like the hospitality of the staff and the homey ambiance. They also arranged tours for us and prepared our early breakfast. And my little girl cannot get enough of Salt and Pepper, until now. =)
Water shortage...which is city-wide as we were told. And road repairs along the area making it hard for vehicles to go in and out. By the time we were leaving Puerto Princesa, the road works in their street were also finished.
The staff were perfect, they help us in everything we asked.
There is not a close beach in this hotel, only a Bay where you can not swim.
Very friendly personal
Great staff, good position just off main road so it's quiter. Big airy rooms. Breakfast Ok, would be nice to have a piece of fruit. Owners very helpful. Bit noisy if u get the front room as the Resturant is right outside & people tend to get up early. Would definitely recommend.
Everything! We felt as if we were invited into their own home like old friends. and... Craft beer!
Very friendly and helpful.
Malu is a great host!
Friendly, polite and accommodating staff. It was close to the Cathedral, garrison and the main street but away from other vehicle noises. You can walk to other stores and restaurants on the main street if you like walking but there is tricycle which is a better option to save you time and avoid the heat if you are not used to it. If you have left over food, there is a common fridge to store and can be reheated by staff upon request. This is a good Bed & Breakfast location for the price and amenities.
The toilet bowl does not work well and you have to use pail of water to flush. It would be nice to have 2 pillows on the bed instead of just one. It would also be great to have night lights so you still have some light to guide you when you need to go to the rest room.
I like the home atmosphere; the staff were like family members.
The friendliness of the staff was certainly a bonus. I really liked the places overall and felt very secure
Depending on what kind of traveller you are you might expect an increased level of noise by dogs in the area but otherwise it was fairly quiet from the staff and guests.
accomodating staff always ready to assist the guests
lack of bidet in the toilet insufficient water supply in the morning
Super friendly staff and owner. Lovely and spacious open dinning area and a nice, clean and spacious bathroom.
The room was a bit cramped even for this a single person. The premises are a bit far from from the city centres restaurants and convinience stores and night life.
Very friendly and helpful staff, nice clean rooms, central location and good value for money! I really recommend this place!
Beautiful, collonial house with a nice history.
Lovely staff, comfortable room, nice breakfast and in a convenient location. If we come to PP again on would stay in Matutina Pension.
Although its on a side street it can be noisy in the morning with traffic going to the church or school.
Excellent service. Helpful staff.
No free coffee making facilities.
A family run business that genuinely cares. Very knowledgable about the local area and can also arrange trips and transport. Comes highly recommended
