Nice place, good service, friendly staff, nice view, and consistant shuttle service. Nice place if you want to avoid the busy street in station 1-3. And during the off season, i think its the best place because its on the top of the hill, u will feel much safer when the rain comes and the wind blowed. It also provide cooking service if u want to eat the seafood that u bought at d'talipapa. Overall, enjoyed my stay there.
The restorant food in the hotel can be much to salty but u can inform them to put less salt.
close to pukkashell beach good shuttle bus system clean & beautiful pool delicious restaurant and cheap price
their service and the views
Everything is good, I am glad to come again.
Internet connection is so slow
This is my second time in hotel Soffia and I enjoyed it the same as when I was here 4 months ago. I stayed in the same room No.217 which has a perfect sea and mountain view. The sunset from room is fantastic. The hotel is up in the hill away from the noisy white beach. Punctual shuttle bus every hour to go to D'mall and we were fine of the 15 minutes ride. Very friendly staff and almost all of them remember my name since I'm there again, that's unbelievable for a tourist hotel.. The driver told us the owner is a very nice person from Manila. During Yolanda typhoon period he allows all hotel employees to stay in guest room just to be safe. They feel like a family. That's really nice. I was staying in the bar for internet. The waiter even helped me to cut my mango in a perfect way. Everyone is just so nice and helpful. They have safe in front desk where we could lock our valuables. If we would go for the 3rd time, I'd like to come back to Soffia again.
There is no internet connection in room. So every night we had to stay in the bar for WiFi. It was not a big issue though. We are in vacation, who needs internet! Just everyday we need to check a bit emails and call home. If you go to bar, make sure you order a big mango juice or mango shake! There are still ants and wizards in room. But it seems to be very common everywhere in Boracay. We had to clean completely our luggage.
the staff are very good and helpful . quite place good fro relaxation
the hotel far away from beach side but the shuttle bus every 1 hour starting from morning until evening solve the matter
location is on the mountain, view ni very nice.
is not closed to the beach
Staff we're very friendly , shuttle bus always on time , quite place on the mountin
Internet,no internet in the rooms only on lobby and slow connection
Hotel Soffia exceeded my expectations. I am used to see beautiful photos of the amenities because of advertising but when I got there, Hotel Soffia did not disappoint. The room seemed new. I chose the Superior room and it was perfect. I was glad I did not get the Casitas because the windows of the corner room complimented the sunlight and the view. Sir Neil was the driver who picked me up and I was glad he was very understanding when I asked if we could pick up a friend of mine along the way. Personalized service. I liked my overall stay. I will definitely go back.
There isn't much to not like about Hotel Soffia, except for the cold responses and treatment of the front desk receptionists. They are too automated, lacks warmth and does not want to engage in conversation.
My husband and I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at the Hotel Sofia. Our room was lovely and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, the pool refreshing. Yes we had the occasional blackouts but power was always restored within a very short time. Our stay was just as promised .. relaxing. I must add in closing that the front desk, housekeeping and most of all the restaurant waitstaff was so very friendly and attentive. Thank you all for a wonderful vaction.
The staff was extremely helpful. We had a wedding in Boracay. They arranged everything for us at the last minute: laundry, makeup artist, van, money change, etc. The room was clean and the view from the room was amazing. The free shuttle bus is extremely convenient.
- Spacious room - Great 180 degree view of the island - Excellent staff - Nice infinity pool overlooking the ocean - Perfect place if you want to have the option of staying away from the crowded and busy beachfront any time you like.
- A little too far from the beach area than I anticipated. It didn't help that, since we were there during the very crowded long Labor Day weekend, the travel time from the hotel to the beach area (and back) took an average of 20-25mins. If you're a die-hard beachcomber, you're better off staying in one of the hotels in front of the beach.
Expect for the location, which is on the hill but provides a quiet environment and the hotel has hourly shuttle bus to D'Mall, the rest proves to be very satisfying.
Staff are very accommodating, friendly, polite and trustworthy. overlooking view from mountain top where it is located is beautiful. Though it was a bit far from the main beach, they provide free shuttle service from time to time.
wifi accessibility is limited.
The Hotel is really clean and well maintained (plants, etc.). Especially its surrounding, which is not so obvious in Philippines. Hotel Soffia has great pool. It's not big, but it never been crowded. You can expect great shuttle bus service from Hotel from 7am to midnight. This really comfortable, as hotel is quite far from center of the island. For advantages I also need to count politeness of the staff. They are very friendly. Price fr the money is really good. From my balcony I was able to watch sunset and sun rise, so location (geographic) is perfect.
In my room there were ants, so I had to be very careful to not bring them to my home. The restaurant is rather expensive. It's much more expensive than highly exposed restaurants in the D-Mall (heart of the island). Air conditioners were somehow noisy so during night (this was really quiet location) they are disturbing your sleep. WiFi is available in Hotel Lobby. For me it was enough. I was on vacation, not in the office.
-Quiet location on top of a hill (away from the crowds - Stunning views - Good sized room
- I had asked the hotel to organise my transfers weeks before our arrival - did not get confirmation until we called and hour before our flight left from Manila. - Food at the cafe was average and overpriced - service at reception was a little slow
no wifi in the room
no wifi in the suitroom
Location away from the madding crowd of stations 1,2 and 3.
1. Upon checking in, while we had booked and paid for a so-called 'casitas,' the girl at reception assigned us a deluxe double in the main building of the hotel on the third floor. The management insisted that the deluxe double was of the same category/price of the 'casitas' and we would be better off staying in the main building. It was not clear to us why we could not get what we had paid for. After much ado, we managed to get a 'casitas' (C5) which suited us just fine since it was tucked away from the main building and enjoyed a nice view of the surrounding hills. 2. Upon checking out, I realized that the 400 US dollars out of 700 total I had left as emergency cash with my passport in the safe at the reception (no room safe available) had 'disappeared.' We called the manager demanding an explanation. The manager simply 'washed his hands' of the matter saying that I was the only one having access to the safe (note that the safe at the reception can be open with a small key and not by inserting a pin). This is of course not true as surely the management has a master key in case one looses his/her own key. We intented to follow up this matter with the Police but we did not have time as we would have missed our flight back home. Botton line, avoid this hotel at all costs.
Pool, view, deluxe room size, bathroom size, shuttle service free and staff ok, the lemonade with mint at the restaurant.
I am only mentioning this because they rate themselves as 4 *. The below were really bad but we still had a great stay at Sofia. Breakfast - very limited choice: designed for Asian market, no cold items in the breakfast buffet, scrambled eggs every day( no other type of eggs), no cheese, no yogurts, no fruits,no vegetables, no cold meats, horrible weak coffee, no musli, no pastries. This needs to be improved if they want the extra review points. Another bad point is wi-fi. I can live with not having wifi in the room but if you offer in public areas make it at least a good one. If there are more than 3 users you cannot connect to it and somedays we tried more than an hour to connect. This is not acceptable in 2014 as we travel and work in the same time and need quick access to wifi. We still recommend this hotel as it's good value (55€) but it can be perfect with these improvements.
The hotel is on the hill and far away from the beach chaos. Great sunset view and you can see till the sea. Punctual shuttle bus every hour to D-mall and to come back so we didn't have any problem to go to beach. It takes about 15 minutes. In the 3rd floor terrace you can relax and have a great view of stars at night. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The hotel is on the hill so it's very windy especially in the night. The sound makes us feel like in Wuthering Heights. There is no wifi neither land-line internet in room, so I had to go down to lobby every day to check e-mails. I'm not sure if there is a farm around or what, the chickens and dogs were barking not only in the morning, but whenever they feel like to. Sometimes in the evening it was really annoying. There were small ants in rooms, also on bed. I had to wash completely my luggage and all clothes in outside laundry when we came home to avoid to have ants in the house. We would have expected more diversities for breakfast, more vegetables are better. We stayed 5 nights and by the last 2 days we were bored by the breakfast choices.
Beautiful location; stunning views, very quiet and relaxing. Probably not the best for party-people though.
The pool and the view from the Cafe is perfect!
Little far away from the activities. The shuttle is good though. Kind of a make up for the location.
