Looked at all other previous comments before I booked a room. I want to say most of the problems have been fixed -- elevator's working, staff are quick and service is snappy. Things are really clean and my stay was really nice. My only concern was on the screwed up objective of my trip, which the hotel was not responsible for. I'll be back. St. Ellis shares this really absurd problem with other places in other provinces: they're trying to impress Europeans and North Americans with their menu, when they should be serving local fare in modern and home versions. The hotel's Laing was very good for instance, and nice plating. But local fare accounted for only 15% of the menu. The rest was predictable EuroAmerican House Specialty pap: Angus this, carbonara that; pizza-pizza silliness. There was a deconstructed Nasi Goreng that was nice but where was the great Bicol fare??? That's what tourists look for, not the professions of the chef's culinary range. Good cooking, but absurd (like others) menu.

The welcome drinks, the staff, the place, very accessible to the airport, grand central bus terminal, malls, church and buiness establishments. I felt safe and the rooms are very clean. I was able to get a big discount. Very like two thumbs up. Honestle speaking, the food. Maybe the food they served that Sunday.
