The only reason we stayed in unattractive Cebu was the supposedly direct flight from here to Boracay. Direct until Cebu Pacific decided otherwise, cancelling and postponing our beach sesame for two days. Anyway... If Cebu as little to offer, the Henry Hotel is an attraction on its own. Arty. Quirky. Contemporary. Comfy. This ex industrial building was refurbished with talent. And visibly god was in the details... From the the welcoming staff greeting you by your name as you enter the reception hall to the funky collection of piece of art and furnitures to the comfortable bedroom. We booked a "big" and believe me, the room was huge! The bed is of the king size and the bedlinen soft and smooth. We slept like babies... Personally, I loved the fresco behind the bed. Same for the bathroom : spacious with all the complementary toiletries. The buffet breakfast would ravish the sweet and savoury palates and eggs are freshly cooked to order.
My only complaint would be the lights. First, there is no central switch so you have to turn them all on/off one by one. Second, it is still a bit too dark. Even if a bright light is not atmospheric, sometimes, you need one...as for breaky, avoid the fruit juice. It's a kind of chemical "Tang" stuff. Undrinkable!
This hotel is incredible! From the service to the unique and trendy decor. It's far from your average 4* hotel and I most certainly recommend it!
Food I expensive for the portion sizes.
Food and drink quality and prices, spacious rooms, great outside area with pool, staff friendly and helpful
Staff-excellent attitude and service. Room was large and very comfortable. Value- well priced,
Wi-Fi was TERRIBLE!! I had continuous outages , very slow speeds and would say a deal breaker for future visits for business. Food was only OK-not the standard I'd hoped for.
The decoration is fine, it is unique.
We stayed at the 5th floor and it's too noisy even at night. Sounds like someone is pulling something like chairs and tables on the upper floor. The breakfast is too ordinary.
Extremely spacious and well appointed room with quirky decor and art.
Sleeping under a doona when the temperature is 25 to 30 0 C - unless you have the air-conditioning on freezing (very unenvironmentally sound) you roast. Provide a top sheet so the guest can choose.
It was realy pleasent stay. Everithing is excellent in this hotel! You will never regret in case you will choose The Henry.
What struck me most was the interior design of the hotel. It was something not ordinary to be seen in a hotel setting. "Instagramable", aptly said by my daughter in law. It was a bit pricey though.
Friendly staff , respectful
As you may know, the interior's nice as you can see it on the picture. And that's just a hotel is all about the hotel.
If you want to take some leisure time on the beach, it's too far from it so that you may get stressed to get there as traffic may awaits you. And it's a little hard to take a taxi especially in the morning.
Great design, great staff. Huge rooms.
Most everything, everyone is very nice, respectful, and helpful when needed. the rooms are very spacious, always cleaned, and very comfortable. This is m second year staying here( three weeks at a time) and I always recommend it.
More variety in the restaurant/buffet. Although they will go out of they're way to get you a taxi, during peak hours you may have to wait, as they chase down a cab.
The room size and design
1-The hotel price is exaggerated 2- hotel location
I loved the artwork! It felt like I was in a Resort rather than a hotel. The staff was great and friendly. I would and will stay at The Henry when I go back to Cebu.
What I didn't like was: You had to have Big Room to use their computer to go online. I wish their main menu was a little more to the Philippine cuisine.
Brilliant decor, super helpful and friendly staff, wonderful food (the a la carte menu is varied and inventive and the complimentary breakfast buffet is superb). The room was excellently decorated and furnished and the bed was so comfortable. Easily my favourite hotel of our trip.
There isn't much directly outside of the hotel. You need to take a car or tricycle to points of interest.
1. Very big room 2. good for young people 3. a spa just beside hotel 4. free luggage deposit
1. seems a little far from malls (the gaisano does not count as one, in my opinion...) 2. almost no option to eat(hard to find a restaurant you really like to go), or am I too lazy to walk around? 3. tv not hd.... 4. where are the beautiful pictures on the wall? They removed the pics.
Friendly and responsive staff, nice restaurant, art and quirky design
The henry is wonderful on all points.
We had a late night attempt to open our room door. Who ever it was had a key. The door opened. But luckily we had an inside latch. I sat on the toilet seat cover to talk with my fiance who was doing her hair. The cover shsttered. The hotel charged me 2000 p . I think they shouldent of. I dont think i was abusive to it. But the henry went down a knotch with that decision of management.
Unique decorations Good showers Nice staff
Maybe not the optimum location
Art deco - made the hotel interesting and unique.
You would not expect such an individually well designed Hotel in Cebu - its absolutely outstanding. Service and whole staff is never tired of smiling while providing a swift and great service. Restaurant has an excellent choice of international but 'different' meals- delicious. All furniture are invitingly comfortable - its not only all about design but also practical in use. I would not chose any other place although I tried 4 other 5 star Hotels in Cebu!
Internal amenity, artwork and professional staff.
Immediate surroundings are pretty grim.
Art nouveau decor, large bedrooms, comfortable bed, small and personal, quiet, pleasant and helpful staff.
