A luxury double room & bathroom along with a very cosy shared lounge & kitchen - we found this more than worth every zloty. The personell at the reception were all friendly and helpful 24 hrs a day - and fluently speaking English, which is not inevitable in Warsaw. Our room & the lounge & kitchen facilities were very well cleaned every day, many thanks for this!! So; all-in-one, we were absolutely delighted - for this price everything was wonderful, really it was more than we expected. The location was perfect, with a short walk to the Centre & the Old town + many interesting places (concert halls, museums, parks & the river) - and surrounded with very good restaurants. Best regards & thanks, Brynja & Kari (from Iceland, who stayed at Chmielna for 12 days in August 2014).

We warn those, who might be interested and have bad feet, of the staircases !! - both in the (very ugly) stairway up to the reception and the one in the guesthouse itself = the introduction of this (and the complete lack of elevators) is missing in the description of Chmielna. We did not know about this until well after we had booked the room. This was not a problem for us though, because - although well over 60, both of us, - we possess very good physical health.

You can stay at a room with private bathroom or a room with a shared bathroom. I stayed at one with private bathroom and it was really nice. But even the shared bathrooms were clean and there wasn't a problem using them. The kitchen has available a fridge, eggboiler, free coffee and tea and a washing machine. It's located near the old town centre and you have buses nearby if you want to go to the gardens or some place else. The room was comfortable and clean and they even change hthe towels everyday.

The room I stayed in, Hvar, is near the kitchen. Althouth there wasn't any noise during the night, you can hear the noise is people go to have breakfast in the kitchen very early.

The hotel is located right in the center of action, not far from the Old Town. The room was very inexpensive. Incredible selection of restaurants within just a few hundred meters. Staff were friendly.

This has to be one of the busiest streets in Warsaw, with people partying outside almost to dawn. There is no air conditioning so in the Summer you will have to leave the window open and you will not be getting any sleep until your neighbors stop drinking/partying. I got the largest (deluxe) room, and it was a bit tight. The door to the room was very difficult to open.

    1. Design of room and kitchen. 2. Location

    1. Room locked with the same key as the front door, so any guest of hotel can go in any room. I had all my stuff all the time to carry, I was afraid of leaving things in room. 2. I lived in a hotel 3 days, until the third day changed one of two brought new towels and disposable shampoo.

We had an awesome douppleroom, we got everthing we needed. The best thing was: We got fresh towels every day, like in a hotel and the Hostle is very central. You can go to all shops you need in ca. five minutes (supermarket, restaurants, coffeeshops, bars, .....)

We loved the location and the room was nice and spacious - with a super nice bathroom. We had fresh towels every morning and the people were nice.

The room was very cold all the time we were there - like the corridor was warm and when you got into the room in dropped by like 4 degrees. The room was very dirty - there was pules of dust everywhere and the floor was in super bad shape - dirty and scratched. The bed was broke and the mattress was super soft (when you would sleep you would slide in the middle of the bed) and when we looked under the bed there was a pile of books holding the middle of the bed in place so it wouldn't collapse. The location is quite nice...but for the money we payed - the quality lacked dramatically. May be you could find something better and still central for the money.

    Sleeping room and linving room.

I didn't like a reception on 4th floor in another building and bathroom where there was no shelf to put clothes on.

a common kitchen (fully equiped) and living room are available. Rooms are pretty and in the city center.

Room was a bit tiny WiFi was out of order. We saw a flea in the sofa of the common living room (room was perfectly clean) Rooms and checking occur in different places, check the description of the hotel where it's clearly explained. No breakfast.

it was clean and comfortable. you have everything you need for your stay. location is good for shopping.

in principle, it is not convenient that you need to pick up the keys (and to give them back in the end of your stay) in another place (even this place/reception is located really close to the place where you stay). Plus the reception is on the 4th floor, so you need either to climb there with your bag or to "risk" a bit :) leaving it on the ground floor while you run to pick up the keys. thus, it is a bit inconvenient for the individual traveller.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff.

Be aware that the guest house is located on a popular street. We were a bit unlucky as we were woken up at 2am by a drunken drum/guitar session somewhere on the street.

    Reasonably well-located; clean room.

Check-in at another hostel is inconvenient; no real curtains; very noisy.

Great location, free wifi, hot water throughout night (not always the case in this price bracket in CEE), excellent and helpful staff.

This is not a location for people who have hard time walking stairs. You need to climb 84 stairs to claim your key, climb down and then climb additional 50 stairs to get to your room. The "guest house" has a decidedly hostel - feel. The room cleaning is spotty - eg, towels were exchanged, but floor not swept. Thin walls. Deluxe room faces a very lively street - lots of noise until late at night. Electric outlets are hard to find, bear in mind with your electronic equipment.

    1) The "guest house" is located in a very attractive district at the city center, with plenty of nice restaurants, bars etc...

    1) The rooms and reception place are ~200 mtrs away from each other, 2nd & 3rd floors without elevators at neither sides. 2) There is a private room (not belonging to the hotel) right at the gate to the house entrance, and the heavy smell from outside at this area made me recallthe cofeeshops' smell of Amsterdam. 3) My room was too small, without air conditionning (a simple ventilation device instead), without safety box, without even a wardrobe/closet to put my cloths. 4) There was a quilt and a heavy blanket on the bed (at a time of 30+ degrees celcius in Warsaw - and note that there was almost no space to put unneeded stuff in room) 5) The bed and pillows were extremely fluffy, and the bed not being flat, one tends to move to the center of the bed. 6) Two remote control devices to handle the TV, and if you don't notify the instructions stated on a piece of paper nearby the TV, you fail irriversibly - of course, TV is not an indispensible accessory, but the issue is you have noone to address such concerns at short notice - All in all, I had booked the room for 4 nights, but at the end of second night, I decided to change my hotel, and while checking out early, noone at the reception asked why I left early. All in all, I would recommend this place only to younger people who would not care about my above concerns but would be happy to stay in a very centrally located "friendly" place.
