Hotel Copernicus  

Central location, historic building, good breakfast, comfortable bed

Room was a little spartan - large throne like chairs not comfortable - only skylight not a window - not really acceptable in a five star hotel. Shower room ditto - too small for five star comfort - nowhere to put toiletries down except small ledge. Public areas not comfortable or welcoming - fire could have been lit but wasnt, on wet cold weekend. No bar to speak of , so didn't feel we wanted to have an aperitif in our own hotel.

The hotel is just fabulous. The best thing about this hotel is the service. Upon check in, we were greeted by the Hotel Manager who welcomed us to Poland and the hotel. The service from all other staff was also great. We booked a couple of tours via the hotel, and were really pleased with both the tours and the ease of getting them arranged. The hotel is in a great location. Close to the market square, but far enough away to be away from the hustle and bustle. It's right next to the castle, which is very picturesque. Our room was large and had two larger than average single beds, which was great as I was travelling with my mother. The heating was great and the beds really comfortable. Breakfast was also very good - a good choice of hot and cold food, and choice of teas / coffees.

I feel I am being very picky here, but just a couple of little things which would have made our stay at the hotel perfect. 1. The blinds in our room were difficult to shut (we were on the top floor where we had skylights - room 304). One night we asked for a turndown service and they were closed for us, which was great, but they really do need replacing. 2. There wasn't a mirror near a plug socket in our room. Not great when you need to plug your hair straighteners in. 3. The shower head (although it was great) sits flat against the wall when the shower is turned off. Unfortunately, with my mother being only 4'10", she could not reach it to pull it out. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay and will definitely stay at this hotel again should we visit Krakow again.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating going out of their way to help us with our small children.

You can hear all the sounds from all the rooms around,small bathroom,no where to put even a comb,espresso was overburnt. Hotel looks enough destroyed by time,needs renovation,every little corner has a problem with smthng, was not possible to close window in our room from the light.

The spa was broken, but thats one of those things

Good location, beautifully designed hotel with boutique style rooms but modern facilities (eg. Jacuzzi bath). The swimming pool in the basement is stunning and nice to have sauna and pool to relax in. Breakfast was good- nice to be able to order a choice of hot dishes

Superb, quiet and historic location within Krakow's old town. Comfortable room. Immaculately clean. Excellent cooked breakfast. Warm fire for winter evenings. Efficient, unobtrusive service. Very good value for money compared to other European destinations.

The hotel was perfectly located at the foot of the castle and the edge of the old town. The hotel had retained the historic features of the architecture but had incorporated contemporary design. We loved that it was small but intimate and it met modern needs with a roof top terrace, spa facilities, free internet access and wi-fi. The food was exceptional with service to match. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent staff and facilities, and it's a decided plus to have a terrific restaurant on-premises. For those visiting Old Krakow, the location cannot be topped. The ambiance and architecture of the hotel is also exceptional. This is my second visit and was my first choice upon returning to the city. I would highly recommend it. And again, special commendations to the staff, all of whom could not have been more helpful and accomodating. My reasons for choosing the hotel include its location, facilities, quality of service (all of which I knew about fromm my first visit) and, while comparatively expensive for Krakow, the price is very reasonable when compared with hotel prices in many other markets.

I was disappointed that there was limited tv channel selection in the room. There was no iron in the room - I would have expected this.
