Hotel Elektor  

We found the Elektor to be clean, comfortable and well situated for sightseeing in the City.

The friendly and knowledgable staff. The great breakfast. Close to the train station. The old world feel of the place.

The shower was not up to par, but lots of hot water!

Staff were friendly and helpful and the location was good-2 minutes from the main square

The hotel is dated and feels stuck in the 1970's! The decor is dull and faded and the furnishings and fabrics are old fashioned.It is a lovely building but desperately needs bringing up to 21st century standards. The noise at night from nearby night club was intrusive and as there is no air con closing the windows meant it was very hot and uncomfortable. It is a long established and has had many distinguished visitors in the past-but is now I think falling way behind present day expectations

This small hotel has a charm of fin-de-siecle elegance and a significant history of honoured guests and visitors (see photos in the reception area). It is well situated in the old city with a very pleasant staff. If you want modern, then this is not the hotel for you but it is comfortable with good food and it has plenty of mid-European atmosphere.

Despite being able to connect to the hotel's wireless network on previous visits, I was unable to do so this time and had to use neighbouring cafés to get an Internet connection. The style of this hotel would lend itself more to stylish Chopin being played over the sound system at breakfast rather than the 'let's try to be trendy' pop music which seems to aimed more at the young staff rather than the guests.

We really got value for money! The location is perfect - close to the Rail-way-station and the market. Close to trams as well. Fine breakfast was served in a fantastic cellar. Staff very friendly and helpful. The free wireless internet functioned 100 %. A little noise from the street - but as we had a separate bed-room ( suite) - we slept perfectly well - nice beds too.

A little bit negative could be the climbing up in the bath-tub for shower - but really no problem.

location is great and it is nice old building

i would advice the hotel to be renovated and refreshed. then it would be great, today it is quite depressing, though price - value ratio is ok.

Desing, Staff was very kind, i stayed in lots of hotels all over the world, but Elektor was the best for this low price

Bath as well as a shower

Not as warm as I would like and quite noisy.

I was impressed by very gentle and warm attitude from reception and kittchen personnel. My ordered room was a single one, but service man at reception proposed me the better conditions (suite with 2 rooms for the same price), which was actually very-very large and comfortable. Thanks them for care! In the hall (ground floor) you can see many photos with many historical persons who visited Cracow and lived in Elektor hotel. Free wi-fi was stable and fast enough. Frig was full of drinks (for additional payment). The table in the room was full of tea and coffee packages every day.

The tv has only local channels, but with cnn and bbc it could be better (not a big problem, because wi-fi was stable and fast). The decaffeinated coffee were in the room only (not a big problem, because I like espresso only and got it in the numerous small coffee- shops around).

The rooms were huge, staff friendly and the location perfect. We arrived on the train from the airport - for anyone else doign the same make sure you head down to the large underpass on the corner of the square and walk under and through into the park. The hotel is just down the road to the left after the park. I thought the breakfast was excellent and location perfect for a weekend away. We didnt' have a car but there was loads of parking nearby.

All rooms look to be facing the street and on the saturday night it was quite loud even with the windows closed. We couldn't find any english tv channels but it wasn't much of a problem as we were out most of the time anyway.

The location was superb. Easy walking distance to the train station and tourist sites, and inside the old quarter.
