would have liked tea making facilities in the room

The location and the rooms were fantastic. Upon checking in we saw our room had been upgraded and we had been given a suite instead of a standard room. The rooms were large and spacious and the decor is immaculate. Despite what I read in other reviews the bathroom was quite large as well. The hotel is located right off of the square. You walk out the doors of the cafe and you are right on the square. The hotel was also quite good about booking tours and taxis, made everything quite simple and there is free wireless internet, not just free wired internet.

As I read in multiple other reviews the staff was a bit stuck up. They definitely looked down their noses at us. The breakfast was the worst. The first morning we did not get greeted or offered coffee or tea at all the entire time we were there. The next morning was markedly better, but still not the type of service you would expect from a five star.

Excellent location and lovely building. Nicest person in the hotel was their cleaning lady.

1. Staff is untrained and seems to hold their jobs as per a coincident. For example, they do not greet you in the hotel, they look at you and smile and reply with a greeting only when you greet them first. If you don't say anything you will not hear goodmorning or goodnight or how are you. They are nice people but generally do not have an idea how to run a hotel. 2. No coffee / tea facility in the room. Good opportunity to charge you for morning coffee from the restaurant. 3. Gym is a big scam. It's basically 2 bikes. No treadmill. Plus, they give massages in the same room. So if someone is having a massage they will send you off and tell you to come back later. 4. No iron / ironing board in the room. After ringing reception twice and waiting for 30 min, they brought me an old iron and stained ironing board. The lady warned me that the iron burns clotes. It does. I ruined my blouse. 5. Mistake with the bill. Wanted to charged me double for an extra night. 6. Laundry - does not work over the weekend and they don't tell you this upfront. We gave our clothes for laundry on Friday. They didn't come back till Monday morning 5 minutes before we were leaving for our flight. 7. Suggestions ? - send the hotel stuff for training. It's a lovely hotel but they got most of details wrong.

The hotel was very centrally located.

I could not rate the hotel. The service was sloppy and there was no attention to detail. I would not recommend this hotel if one wanted a luxury stay in Poland. We were only given one key to the room, and this also doubled up as the key to the lift ! Therfore if one person was styaing in the room the other had to walk down 4 flights of stairs !! There was a lack of toilertires and towels and the bedroom in the suite was cold. The coffee area / bar were closed very early one day, it was closed completely. We couldnot get a cup of coffee. On anoter occassion we signed for coffee and later that evening our door was being pounded and then our phone rang................... apparetnly they wasnted us to pay in cash as the waitress did not realise that we were guests in the hotel !! So I had to walk down the four flights of stairs, pay for hte coffees then wait until the somebody could bring me back up in the lift to our room !!

The rooms were of an excellent standard.the dining area was also great and the location superb.the best hotel I have stayed in.

The club/pub was not open to residents,only open to gala dinner bookings.

The hotel is situated right on the main Market Square and our views across the square were superb. It was extremely handy for shopping, sightseeing and eating out.

The position of the hotel was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly.Breakfast was very good standard, dinner not quite as good, but plenty of good retaurants nearby.Would definetly stay there again.

the location is superb the design keeping the traditional look and the decoration are splended. the building is a jewel and the chandelier and the staircase is a piece of art . the stuff is polite and helpfull . it is an elegant hotel nice atmosphere.

The hotel was beautiful and the location was the best for a vacationer in Krakow, right on the square. This is a European style small hotel and can not be compared to an American style luxury hotel, none the less, the staff was accommodating and the service great and the room was beautiful..

This hotel has a fabulous location, right on Krakow's main square, in the old quarter - perfect for sightseeing, promenading & watching the world go by from the many restaurants & cafes. Romantic 20 minute horse and carriage rides start just outside the hotel, well worth the 100 PLN charge. The staff are friendly & helpful and breakfast was a simplel polish / continental buffet with hot options cooked to order. Free wifi and PC / Internet facilities were good extras.

I'd say the hotel was more 4 than 5 star (no tea/coffee making facilities in the room for example, and few 'luxury' touches) but I guess you are paying for the location!
