A change in my travel plans meant I needed to leave my suitcase at the hotel the day before I was due to check in. The receptionist, Maria, could not have been more helpful. When I finally arrived for my stay at this beautiful hotel my case was already in my room. Dinner and breakfast in hotel restaurant were first class and I only wish I could have spent more time there to take advantage of the leisure facilities and the rooftop terrace which, unfortunately, was not open as it was too cold when I visited. Pod Wawelem is ideally situated for sightseeing in this wonderful city, a short walk to the Rynek, Kazimierz and bus and tram stops. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough and will definitely return and stay longer.

The roof top terrace/bar/restaurant gave fantastic views of the river and Wawel castle. The staff were very good, always smiling and very attentive. Just remember, this is central Europe and a 10% tip is normal on top of every bill. The bills, however, will not break the bank and given the roof top location with the views it has you could pay twice this rate at another hotel. No complaints

Location was great, right by the castle and river, but very quiet. Also very near to most of the attractions, with the old town being just a short walk away. Our room had a nice view overlooking the river. Breakfast was a big selection of hot and cold foods with a good variety of drinks to choose from. There was a steam room facility but we were out exploring the city most of the time so didn't have a chance to check it out. The hotel booked us a taxi to the hotel on our way back, the taxi wasn't a taxi, more like a friend with a van. Also the driver seemed a little high on something. We were just glad we got to the airport safely!

It was a brilliant central location. Included in our booking were a choice of drinks in the evening or lunch. We chose the drinks but were dissapointed to discover that we were unable to use the vouchers on the rooftop bar. If we were to use these vouchers up there we would have stayed for dinner using the upstairs restaurant.

Location- just off centre, but everywhere within walking distance. No need for bus or tram. If in a group of 4 or more and visiting Auswich, consider a taxi - hotel staff booked this for us. Great value with free voucher for lunch (excellent, big portions) or evening drinks (local vodka or beer), in ground floor bar. Roof top bar excellent, blankets if cold. Very good breakfast, cereal, meat, cheese, fruit, bacon, sausage, egg, yoghurt, juice, breads, cake. Very helpful, friendly staff. Clean, looked quite recently decorated. Free safe at reception. Free Internet access at reception. Nothing major, but may be helpful for others to know - unable to get staff to understand we wanted tap water at lunchtime, always charged us for water, even when served in a jug. Windows don't open in some rooms, but there was very basic air con. Standard rooms are not huge, but ok. Views from standard rooms not up to much, we could see a spire of the castle from our room and friends could see the river if straining neck, but the view didn't bother us as not in the room very often!

The location of the hotel was excellent just 10 minutes through the park and you were at the main market square. The castle was right beside the hotel and we sat on the terrace bar with a nice cold beer watching the people and the boats on the river. At night for being so central it was really quiet and so we got great nights sleep after all our sight seeing. We ate in the Hotel a few times and the food was lovely and also we were given vouchers which enabled us to either our lunch free or drinks at night which was excellent (although you could not use them in the terrace bar which was a bit disappointing). Breakfast was served up to 10:30 which was great as we went a walk up the river first before enjoying a great breakfast with plenty of variety hot and cold food. The room was really clean and the bathroom looked newly decorated. The reception booked us our trips to the salt mines and Auschwitz and also our taxi back to the airport. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return again. A*****

I did not have much time to stay in the hotel because my reason to visot krakow was attending to a conference. But it was very clean not old faced unlike most of the others close to Raddisson and infront of the river. 10 min walk to market square. You may walk everywhere within 30 minutes. I would stay again and recommment it Thete is a free included drink option which was in between 6:30 pm to 11 pm which is in the hours you would prefer to dine out. So o would say di not prefer if there is a difference in the price of the room as I could not use thosevfee daily dated tickets Otherwise it is ok. Breakfast is enough good. Free access cable Internet in the room. Free access wireless is only in the lobby restaurant. A bit cold

My wife and I had an fantastic stay at the Hotel Pod Wawelem. The hotel is modern and clean. The food is very good. The service was excellent. The room we stayed in was amazing with fantastic views over the castle and river. We had a prime view of the fireworks over the river. The location of the hotel is perfect just a short walk to the center of the Old Town, yet quiet. We have stayed in Krakow many times and this is the best hotel we have stayed in, also very good value for money. We will definately be going back.
