Only about 10 mins walk from everything the Christmas markets were very good
Pleasantly Polish place with a homely feel, decent large comfy room.
MIght have been a bit cleaner but fine where it mattered.
The room was big for one person, the mattress was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The non-street facing rooms are the best as they are the most quiet. The location is excellent - 10 minutes walk from the town center and a few minutes from the train station. The price includes breakfast which makes it good value for money compared to other hotels in the area. The staff speak good English and are very helpful
Stains on carpets are a bit gross (make sure you some slippers). The bathroom sink didnt drain quickly then I removed some paper which was blocking it. I've stayed on 3 different occasions and while i found the breakfast to be decent the first few times it would be nice to have some variety in the selection provided e.g. croissants instead of pancakes, bacon instead of frankfurters, honey instead of jam, apple instead of orange juice. There is no toaster to toast bread, and the coffee from the nescafe coffee machine
The staff were very polite, helpful, friendly and efficient. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The room was clean and comfortable with fresh towels and bottled water every day. The location is excellent and within walking distance of the station,Rynek and the covered market. This was the second time we had stayed here and will certainly not be the last.
Nothing comes to mind.
My room was newly refubrished, clean, very big, warm and cosy. The price was good. Receptionists were very friendly. I would stay again.
The corridors are dark with old carpets, but this wasn't a problem for me. Just something I noticed. The hotel is definitely not that bad as many guests write in their reviews!
This hotel was the best deal on our recent trip to Poland. I was expecting a basic double, they gave us a whole suite on the quietest side of the hotel. Hotel is old but the suite was recently renovated with new furniture and a completely new bathroom. The breakfast was very good and the front desk staff were very nice.
Good location for my needs, friendly staff, old building with lovely characterful restaurant, basic room which was nice & clean although the carpet in the room has seen better days, comfortable bed, good breakfast. Excellent value.
The only English TV channel was a news channel - Sky News I think.
The room was very large,i have never seen a hotel room so big.the room was cleaned every day and fresh bottles of water left every day.there are tram and bus stops right outside the hotel entrance and the railway station is only about half-a-mile up the road.the buffet breakfast was excellent, plenty of it.also in the restaurant we had an express lunch which consisted of a soup and a main course for 15 pln.it was served very quick.evening meals were cheap starting from 20 pln, served on large plates which were just big enough to hold the food.we would thoroughly reccomend the hotel polonia.value for your money.
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.only one lift.
The rooms facing the back of the building are great, spacious, clean bathroom, beds with good mattresses (not lumpy), and warm. The breakfast has a good selection of food - including scrambled eggs, sausages and pancakes. Overall it's really good value for money considering the location (less than 10 minutes walk from the centre, a few minutes from main train station, bus and tran stop just outside) but make sure you ask for a non-street facing room if you want to sleep!
I had a room facing the main street on my first night's stay. The actual room was really nice and comfortable inside but the noise from the street was terrible. I could hear trams, cars, everything going on down below, even with calming music playing in my ears from my ipod I didnt get more than a couple hours of sleep in total. They really need to sound-proof the street facing rooms. After I complained the next morning I was given a back-facing room and had a blissful night of sleep!
-good personnel at the reception. -interesting elevator:):):):). Scary at first, but then it was funny to use it. - breakfast box is served when you have very early check out. - in general everything was ok for such a price
- breakfast was ok but for the long queues to get food and especially drinks and coffee.i was standing in the queue but the machine was broken just almost before my turn came:( so I stayed without morning coffee. - restaurant was closing too early- at 9 pm. - sockets were terrible in the room. it was very dangerous to use them. - the rooms require to be renovated. - very noisy. so it was hard to fall asleep.
It is a large hotel but we were treated as individuals. The staff were extremely helpful and booked taxis, suggested restaurants, lent us umbrellas and were extremely polite and caring. Laundry done, inexpensively,in one day. A good breakfast included in the room rate. The room was clean and the water was always hot.
We had to change room because my daughter was given a sofa bed she did not find comfortable.(The beds in the second room were excellent.) Noise from the trams early in the morning, but we did appreciate being able to get around town easily because they stopped so close to the hotel - so mixed feelings on the trams!
Its close to the center , easily accisible by tram or bus. Good connection to the center
My single room had old fernitures and in general building is old. I would not recommend for couples. The price is high compared to the quality.
Positive: The location of the hotel is good. You can walk to the city center in 10 min. You can walk to the main train station in 6-7 min. Its an old style building and many things are old, you can consider as old style furnished hotel. The price is good just for 1-2 days staying and breakfast is included in the price which is quiet ok for a 3 star hotel.
Negative: Building is very old and you feel the smell and dirt everywhere easily. Hotel needs a renovation in soonest time. The stuff in the reception is not unfriendly but even not trying to help you in a friendly way. (its like a cold behavior) you see noises from the corridor. There is only one single light next to the mirror in the bathroom, which makes is very dark inside. Overall, you feel like a 2 star hotel instead of 3.
No kettle in room, noise from trams/trains on 4th floor front.
The Breakfast Was terrible. The worst i ever have sees in a hotel. Im never gonna stay there again
Good value for money: location was just a few minutes walk from the train station and about 10 minutes from the city center. The rooms facing the back of the hotel were peaceful. Breakfast buffet had a good selection of food. The interior of the building feels outdated and in need of a makeover - something like the movie - Grand Budapest Hotel - but the room and bathroom was clean, spacious and comfortable.
I havn't in the smoking room ashtray...
the staff were friendly ,hotel is clean .nice breakfast.
The rooms are very spacious, clean and calm. The breakfast buffet is terrific, with lots of polish specialities. The hotel is located only two minutes walk from the main station and not more than 10 minutes from the old town
- early check in offered which was great after long night trip
- broken lift - unpleasant staff at check-in, could improve communication skills to at least 3star service - hotel interior looking very unstylish, a bit depressing - key instead of key cards locking doors? - even hostels look more modern nowdays
good breakfast; visually pleasant signs of past glory
the elevator didn't work upon arrival so had to carry all our luggage up to the fifth floor; probably not typical of the hotel, but in our case we had noisy neighbors (who stopped the noise when asked by the hotel staff to quiet down)
- Location is ok, but not the best - The staff spoke English - Free Wi-Fi
- Very poor breakfast, only Polish food - Corridors were ugly and dirty - Not value for money - The lift is a joke - Dirty carpets - Uncomfy bathroom - The cleaning service just made my bed, didn't change the sheets nor towels - Drunk people nearby at midnight
