Belgica and Ponce are a picture postcard come to life. Historic zone colonial building in very good condition right at the scenic central plaza. Every room is a bit different, so you may like one over the other. Staff could not be warmer or more open minded. Morning coffee needs more coffee (and cream), but the toast and oatmeal cookies work.

The hotel had a lot of character, beautiful historical details in the lobby, hallways & rooms. The owner & staff were very helpful & informative. The hotel is right in the center of town, close to everything. Very good value for the price.

This is an interesting old hotel which has been nicely upgraded recently and kept much of it's colonial charm. Great location very near the main square in Ponce. We were there on both Friday and Saturday nights. There are two bars on either side of the hotel which blared loud music with a rousing, thumping base beat on Friday night. Even earplugs did not work to make the thumping go away. I finally talked to the desk clerk at 2 am. The music stopped at 2:45. The next morning I talked to the staff and they were very willing to let us change rooms. We moved to a room more in the middle of the hotel and on Sat. night I was able to sleep just fine.

The hotel is beautiful with great personality. The staff is very helpful, welcoming and friendly at any and all hours of the day. The location cannot be beat! Please note that we were fine with some earplugs and a noise machine, but the other reviews are correct in mentioning that noise could definitely be a problem. We were there during Carnival in March, and the concerts in the Plaza may as well be in the bedroom. Again, we slept just fine but light sleepers or families with small children will be annoyed. Also, it takes the shower awhile to warm up, although after a long hot day of walking around we also didn't care too much!

Charming old world feel. Lovely facilities within walking distance of the Ponce's center square. Would have loved a coffee maker in the room. Small, but hey, you asked.

Location on the heart of Ponce, very clean facilities and room, old hotel athmosphere with high cellings, and modern looks. Parking meter, but free very secured public parking three blocks from the hotel. Location of the Continental breakfast in the hotel.

Great downtown Ponce city location; friendly and helpful staff. Ambiance and room reminded me of a graceful European city. We were forewarned that our street room with balcony would be noisy at night - and they were correct. They provided earplugs which were a lifesaver. The continental breakfast in the morning could have used a little "something" - maybe local pastries?

The excellent and helpful staff as well as the location. Our room was also quite pleasant with the exception below-- Nothing they can do about it, but it is extremely noisy (particularly on the weekend when we were there. But we were warned and the hotel offered us (much needed) ear plugs for sleeping!

This hotel delivered what I expected. The location was one of the best we have stayed in. It is less than half a block from the plaza in the historic section of town. It has a charming, European feel. The staff is great and accommodating. Great place to stay for a good price. I would highly recommend it. I was worried about the parking, which was a little inconvenient, but not bad. I had a hard time trying to get the air conditioner set at the right temperature because the remote control was confusing. It did work, which is the important thing. The continental breakfast was the most minimal I have ever had, but I had read blogs about their breakfast so was aware of it.

I loved the location of Hotel Belgica--right in downtown Ponce, walking distance to the nightlife as well as a park. The decor of the hotel was very pretty and lovely and I enjoyed the view of downtown Ponce from the balcony room. The room was clean spacious and the bathroom has lots of space as well, unusual for a hotel. The biggest drawback to Hotel Belgica is the lack of parking. The hotel itself has no parking area. You have to park on the street and pay the metered parking or park in a municipal garage 5 blocks away and then walk back to the hotel. The metered parking starts charging at 730am so forget about sleeping in. The municipal lot gets crowded very quickly, and there's no guarantee there will be a spot for you, especially during holiday season. The shower in the bathroom didn't have a whole lot of water pressure, but it was very big and had plenty of room to move around.

Historic beautiful building, nicely restored. Friendly staff. Big comfortable rooms. Noisy balcony room (street facing). Poor water pressure in shower. Tricky a/c remote control (though a/c worked very well!). Limited parking around hotel; nice parking two blocks away.

Cute, colonial building. Friendly staff. Clean. Personalized service unlike a chain. 1. The balcony room need sound proofing. It was terribly noisy until past 4am and then the city woke up again at 7am; so we barely got 2-3 hours of sleep! 2. If possible, consider an elevator. I know it's an old colonial building and I rather maintain the uniqueness of it. So if not possible, post prominently on line the lack of elevator for handicapped people (we had to cancel the second night because my mom, who had knee surgery, had a tough time getting to the 2nd floor).

Small but comfy. Too noisy. Hotel is right next to the Plaza where it is quite noisy at night, they all seem to have megaphones atop their cars advertising some religion or business straight to midnight. The only spot worth visiting is the Plaza which is a mere two blocks. No amenities in room whatsoever. Good for a one nighter.

Mooi authentiek hotel.
